The SNP administration is giving us a taste of what "Independence" would be like. Club 1872 is giving us a taste of what "Fan Ownership" would be like. On the available evidence, M'lud, I should say get both to, well, fuck.4 points

Argentina win first major since 1993's Copa America and its a first International trophy for Messi elevating him up to being on par with Ronaldo at international level (unless you count Ronaldo's Nations League win). A good way to win it as well - on your rivals patch.2 points

Final instalment tonight at Wembley and the odds are England @7/5 Italy @17/10 Draw @ 2/1 So may the best team win and let's hope for a game to remember.2 points

I find I have no difficulty wishing our neighbours well or understanding their joy at a small success after so many years of failure. In fact it would be petty and parochial to be anything other than generous towards them. Let them be proud to be English and if some of them go over the top then let's not be so disingenuous to think we wouldn't do exactly the same. Otherwise we just look like people with an enormous chip on our shoulders .... we're not, are we?2 points

Italy just about deserved that though England were the better side for about forty minutes. They believed their own hype, scored too soon and thought it was all over. If you don’t want to lose, don’t take smart alec penalties. Unmanly scenes at the end. Why do so many young people behave like toddlers? Over all, a disappointment.1 point

Terrific England support? One cry was no surrender and they'd be over the line.1 point

Kane three yards from the centre half just jogging behind him. Imagine Gerrard tolerating that.1 point

England had an excellent start and a great goal, it’s half time of extra time and I can’t remember the Italian keeper having a save to make1 point

There was no press... ? Edit: This comment will bite me on the arse...1 point

Is there any reason why the front players aren't hassling the defenders as they play out? They're not doing anything else.1 point

Italy being more adventurous with their subs as well - England looking like they are playing not to lose the game, Italy playing to win it.1 point

What happened to England's press? The centre of midfield - utterly static. They will pass round them, sure, but standing off what was making it so easy.1 point

I must be blind. I've seen England create nothing, with Italy creating several, albeit half, chances. England have been like this all tournament. Create bugger all, yet nick goals and defend well. At some point I'll need to concede that they're a better side than I think.1 point

Poor from Italy but strong from England. The physical size difference is glaring and making a big difference. Mancini should have spotted it very early that Shaw and Trippier are in acres of space. I can only see England scoring again in the second half with no reply.1 point

It actually isn’t - it’s a common misconception. Britain is still their country. https://www.flaginstitute.org/wp/uk-flags/the-union-jack-or-the-union-flag/1 point

This reminds me of when Raquel's parents meet the Trotters on Only Fools And Horses. Having just learned that Uncle Albert was in the Navy, Raquel's father asks Delboy if he is also a naval man, to which Del replies, "I'm more of a leg man.". ??1 point

Lifted From FF: Some Facts Surrounding Club 1872 Thread starterRobert Marshall Start date11 minutes ago First of all, let me make this quite clear, this not a threat to any individual or group of people, directly or implied. This is all about getting a Board of Directors removed in a legal sense and a new Board appointed for Club 1872 to let the CIC expand and grow. This is not something I wanted to make public but I feel my integrity has been called into question. I have learned things over the last few weeks that have both appalled and saddened me in equal measures. As a Rangers fan all my life, along with everyone else I have always wanted the best for our Club and our supporters. But things I have heard have destroyed by rose-tinted view of some of my fellow fans and I cannot and will not sit silently by while these people put personal interest above the needs of Members of Club1872 and indeed the lack of support shown to our overall fanbase in the face of mounting criticism from outside sources in the kast few months. I have been interviewed by Police Scotland on a scurrilous complaint of a criminal accusation by posts on FF. I find this distressing to my family and I will not accept this. Needless to say, there were no criminal charges brought against me. I'm sure they will have another go at me. I will not be deterred from doing the right thing. Amongst some facts that have come to light are the following. Chris Graham was paid circa £300K by the Club when Dave King was Chairman as a consultant. His job was to basically control Club1872 and make it grow, which retrospectively, looks like it was to get enough money to buy Dave's shares. Chris was acting like a shadow Director of Club1872, sat in on meetings and there were no declarations to the Members. It is also believed he may have got a company car, although I haven't got that verified. One of the most damaging revelations, IMO , is that Club1872 has a Paypal account that, allegedly and I Say allegedly that Chris, even though he is not officially contacted to Club 1872 is in control of this. I have it confirmed that some Directors never even knew this Paypal account existed and it was never brought up in their meetings. Club1872 and Rangers had a meeting or exchanged where certain commercial sensitive details were discussed, Club1872 decided that they didn't believe Stewart Robertson and emailed Castore to confirm this. Rangers were understandably angry with this breach of confidentiality and responded with a sharp and to the point email to Club1872 and I'm told Club1872 and Laura in particular didn't like the tone of the email and said unless Stewart withdrew it Club1872 would not engage with the Club. Rangers responded by saying they refused to discuss anything with the Directors of Club1872 unless they signed an NDA, up until the middle of last week, they have refused Rangers offer tsign the NDA. The fact that Directors have resigned and members not informed immediately and only find out when posted on Companies house shows, IMO, an arrogance that is beyond belief. No AGM for 4 years and rules changed so that 3 DIrectors hold the ultimate power. Thes are some of the facts I know, it is entirely up to the individual what you think of them Yesterday at 10:39 PM #1 I was requested to attend by Police Scotland tonight at Govan Police Station I took my Solicitor along with me, They informed me that a complaint had been made against me regarding Club 1872 I answered all the questions and the Police were satisfied with my answers I was advised there would be no charges and I was free to go, so I left with my Solicitor I will not be making any more comments on this thread after advice from my solicitor1 point

"A classic warning sign is when people who have great power are above the law, when the laws don't apply to them. That is a classic case of tyranny and people call it out as a violation of the rule of law. When laws or the law making process are not transparent, when courts don't function efficiently, when people don't trust the police, these are all areas where there would be a problem with the rule of law".... (Professor Susan Hirsch, USA) People tie themselves in knots about vaccinations, lock downs, and masks, and meanwhile........1 point

Completely lost my RTV - give up. Think I've seen about 15mins of the game and had Tom commentating for 3 minutes. For all the deserved praise for RTV last year, poor start to this season - hopefully improve for next friendlies1 point

The SNP barely said a word about their own MP who was 'sexting' an underage boy, so I doubt they'll bother much about Griffiths' antics. Celtc FC and the SNP are similar, in various ways.1 point
