  1. We must become a selling club. It's the sustainable model we must adopt. Players must be sold. Except Morelos. And Kamara. And Tavernier. And Helander. And any player of value.

  2. Probably a poor choice of words as I was conflating investment/gambling which may not be entirely fair. But ultimately you can only be sponsored by businesses that want to sponsor you, and so long as we promote their services in a reasonable way with the approprate caveats and disclaimers, then its ultimately down to individuals.

  3. It’s circular though, without them do we get to the CL? Certain money now (we always undervalue our assets) versus uncertain larger money if CL comes in. Hope there are smarter people than me doing these risk assessments.

  4. If only it were solely incompetence. However they want to make an arse of it, if we get the colts in it’ll do for me.

  5. Nuno to Spurs is a good move however its stinks of 6th choice desperation from Spurs. Rafa to Everton is also a good move, he will do better then Ancelotti. The latter wasnt the right fit, he is more of an elite manager to win things with top players rather than build teams. The Everton fans have to accept him. The Palace one is weird though - dont think Vieira is the right man to go there - it could be another De Boer situation.

  6. Perhaps worth the price differential about which some people were concerned. How merrily we go round not disagreeing on anything substantive.

  7. It’s looking that way, though they’d be ill advised not to promote it hard either way. We can only guess.

  8. Perhaps worth that extra 5p.

  9. We can agree that one of us is. You seem determined to disagree on points we don’t really disagree on. I’d kindly return the advice you gave me the other day, and maybe read what I said more closely.

  10. Fair trade tea costs more than tetley’s. Chocolate grown by collectives cost more than Mars bars. And you just restated my point about personal comfort and preference as though you were disagreeing. I must be missing something. People are free to pay more for the comfort of conscience, so long as it isn’t for snide superiority over those who can’t afford to and consume the abundance capitalism makes affordable.

  11. we should only be selling after CL qualification or not.

  12. Other than “buy shares”, there were two messages I picked up on. The first was that owning shares gives you a personal stake in Rangers. The second was that your shares are forever and can be passed on to your heirs when you’re gone. Both messages were a barely-concealed put down of the collective Club1872 model, where fans have nothing to show for their money and commitment. I like Bennett and I like his view that supporting Rangers is a personal journey, not something for the anthill.

  13. I have no issue with people making ethical market choices. Everything’s a market. If you want to feel/be/signal your ethics through more expensive market choices, fair play to you. However, it’s worth keeping in mind it’s the less ethically comfortable markets that feed the world and have raised the poorest out of poverty. I just have suspicions that this trend towards ethical markets is an attempt to undermine the concept of open markets itself. Random musings. Also another way of looking down on people who can’t afford to make ethical consumer choices. But we are talking sponsorships so I’m ambling. It’s Friday, isn’t it?

  15. Going by this website: https://www.football-coefficient.eu/money/#money-club Getting to group stage = 15.6m Euros Each win = 2.8m Euros Each Draw = 0.93m Then you get a certain amount based on your ten year coefficeient ranging from 1.1m Euros to 35m Euros so Its hard to say what we will get until the teams are finalised. But as a minimum 16.7m Euros

  17. We will sell players this summer. But you have to do all you can not to weaken the side. Morelos has been a magnificent signing for Rangers who would not be easily replaced

  21. Similar to being sponsored by 32Red for me. We are not as a club pushing people to gamble. I'd prefer us to source sponsorship from more ethical companies but we can't ignore the potential partners that do want to spend money with us, simply because we don't care for what they sell.

  23. There are certainly far too many clubs in Scotland. The smaller ones should merge. That's not going to happen, though. You can trust the SPFL to mess up anything. However, I am a Rangers fan. I want our Colts in the League structure.

  24. This is being sold by the club as a way of putting money into the club and the opportunity to win gifts and experiences not available elsewhere , fine , I get that . However this is going to be a listed currency in an unregulated market where the value can and will fluctuate , Bitcoin probably the best known and most heavily monitized coin has seen its value fluctuate by up to 30% on a daily basis , this can be a really dodgy think to get involved in and I’m just really uneasy in the club promoting something that may leave some gullible fans with nothing to show for it .

  27. I’m interested in quite a few English teams but interest is not enough. A team is only yours if victory brings wild exultation of joy, a draw brings sullen discontent and defeat casts you down to the depths of despair and seething rage. On that measure I have only two teams, in alphabetical order, Elgin City and Rangers.

  28. What’s that supposed to mean? celtic non sequiturs as usual. Can’t announce manager, not because they haven’t got him or a list of them, oh no. It’s because they are doing something else instead which is jolly important for the good of the spalpeens who support them. If Lennon doesn’t get the call to ‘Spurs, or, more likely, gets the call but doesn’t heed it, might he be bringing the thunder ‘bus back to parkhead?
