Excluding Rangers wins, that was the most enjoyable evening of football I have ever witnessed. Loads of goals, terrific football, daft mistakes, penalties, passion and fans back in stadiums. Loved every minute of it.

I thought I'd make this a pre-season megathread, for all things pre-season. I'm expecting more from Itten this year. He made cameos last season, but nothing consistent, so I'd like to see him take a step up and push for a starting spot. I'm worried about Patterson. He's more than good enough to play. But, he has Tavernier ahead of him... I'm concerned he's not going to get the games he needs to help him progress. I do hope a youngster can make an impact pre-season. We're still short in midfield, so I'd like to see some signings in that area. In that vein, I'm curious to see how Nnamdi Ofoborh gets on (No-- I didn't look up the spelling... ?).

Hey all, We have today pushed through the latest IPBoard forum software updates. These come periodically , but does bring a few changes on the look/themes and it actually had some really big changes on the backend database side that most of you will not see, so you may notice some oddities over the next few days whilst we pick these up. please report any issues to myself or Frankie. They’d be better reducing the number of league clubs

As someone who is usually non-plussed by international football, this has been a very enjoyable tournament thus far. Long may it continue.

All 42 SPFL clubs are being asked to consider a proposal that would lead to an increase in the number of teams within the leagues to 48 over the next three seasons. The additional teams would come from B teams from Rangers and Celtic with two teams from each of Highland and Lowland leagues taking the number up to 48. In the proposal there would be no relegation from the bottom of League 2 for the next three campaigns and by season 2024-25 there would be four leagues of 12 teams. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/57651255

I never heard Lustig go off, and I didn’t hear any cheers when our boy went on but fair enough if you did. Its been a very disappointing tournament for our players with only Kamara getting decent game time but in a poor team in a dull group. Borna, Helander, Patterson & McLaughlin all just wasted valuable holiday time before our vital CL qualifiers. Add in Morelos who hardly got any game time in the Copa.

You have to assume media companies take soundings on the appeal of their presenters, which beggars the question- who is it that thinks Pat Nevin enhances football coverage. I mean, he sounds every inch the nauseating snot he is in life.

Özcan has re-signed for Cologne. Josh McPake will (apparently) sign a 2-year extension and then will be loaned to Morecombe, while Middleton might go back to St. Johnstone on loan.

I forgot to mention my one gripe with last night's (otherwise) pleasurable viewing... Can someone tell co-commentators that moments of silence are okay. Emma Hays and McCoist just say the same things over and over and over and over. I think tonight's matches will be much tighter. But my predictions are clearly not very good.

Humza and Dornan had their wee moment in the spotlight slating Rangers. They couldn't care less about doing the right thing and apologising for their childish behaviour. We know what they are. They know what they are. Sadly, morons will continue to vote for them and their scummy party.

Not sure what is incredible about it, but welcome news all the same. I have always refused to renew until the previous campaign has concluded, so I will be renewing mine after the Dolly game in a couple of weeks. I do expect to be able to attend all matches next season in person. Infection numbers are so low now we should be in level 0, but this Nazi government have us in level 3. We should, by the government's own criteria, be allowed to be about half full for the Dolly game, but still we are not allowed anyone inside. It is absolutely disgusting. VOTE THEM OUT! Sorry, drifted off on a tangent there, but this evil cow and her coherts get me riled up!
