In general I don't disagree with the thrust. But yesterday's illegal gathering was promoted and called for by politicians and none, including Humza, have condemned it today. In fact, most have lauded it. As such, as correct as you are to ask fans to consider their responsibilities, one rule for one group and one rule for another just muddies the water and gives people an excuse not to follow the rules. I'll be clear though (and I tweeted this yesterday before the Pollokshields stuff), I would ask fans to consider our own responsibilities on Saturday. The manager and players have made us all immensely proud this season at home and abroad. Celebrate as you wish and where you wish but do it with respect for yourself, the club and CV19. Be safe!6 points

Firstly, that wasn't a spontaneous protest by the neighbours. Politicians were calling for people from all over to attend. Secondly, I don't know the rights and wrongs of the specific case, but those protesting were interrupting people going about enforcing the law. Yes, that's totally different and should, on the face of it, be condemned a lot more than people just celebrating a league win.4 points

Frankie, it's not news that football supporters are treated differently by police and usually politicians. I mean I've been going to football regularly since the early 80s and it's been happening as long as I've been attending. My issue isn't whether politicians are opportunists, they are and always have been, and it isn't whether the police view 2 large groups of people differently if one of them is wearing football scarves, they clearly do and always have. My only issue is people equating two quite different gatherings of people. The gatherings when we won the league were a spontaneous outpouring of joy. They shouldn't have happened but it's entirely understandable why they did. I didn't criticise them at the time and I won't criticise them now. But what's being spoken about for tomorrow is quite different. Even from a pragmatic point of view we should be discouraging it. The Glasgow police were heavily criticised for not taking strong enough action last time, they might feel they need to correct that this time. A dozen young lads getting criminal records for this would be a real shame.3 points

Gie's peace, we won the title months ago. I can't remember any other time our support have gathered in George Sq to celebrate a trophy handover. It didn't happen after Wallace stopped Stein's 10 in a row and it didn't happen after Souness won his first title. There is literally no excuse for it happening tomorrow.3 points

I understood the spontaneous getting together when we won the league. I don't see the need for it tomorrow when we can't even get in to see it. We will be watching it at home with family and I wish others would do the same. They want to beat us with a big stick so don't hand them the stick.3 points

Are we drawing an equivalence between a spontaneous protest by the neighbours of two men being removed and deported and football supporter's celebrating receiving a trophy for a league they won 2 months ago? I'm sorry but the two are simply not the same. Whatever your personal politics, like or dislike for the current government or specific politicians or your views on immigration and refugees in this country, if you're trying to draw parallels between these events it's no wonder we get trounced in the media so regularly. By all means ask why Thistle supporter's weren't derided for their spontaneous gathering outside Firhill when they won the league, or the various Green Brigade gatherings to worship and the tomb of Scott Brown that have taken place in recent weeks. As a Glaswegian who actually lives in Glasgow I'd really prefer if all Rangers supporters stayed well away from Ibrox and George Square tomorrow. Infection rates are on the rise here, there's a chance the lockdown restrictions might be stopped because of this. So please, stay at home, watch the match on TV and celebrate it with your friends and family. This is not the time for pointless political point scoring or whatever the fuck it is motivating people to consider this.3 points

Fellow Rangers supporters beware! I know, I know, we are on the cusp of completing a long, weary journey. Placing the next step is most difficult, but we must finish the quest. Today's events in Pollokshields light the way of the path we must travel. A few hundred woke demonstrators have secured the release of two illegal immigrants from a Home Office van. The reasoning is that both are part of the community and despite being in a state contrary to the laws of the country, the First Minister has supported their right to a standard of life in Scotland. Further, Humza Yousaf was fulminating that the Home Office had not responded to his multiple promptings on the matter. There is a lesson there for victims of Sellik Boys Club abuse? Just like Tuesday evening's demonstration in George Square, a few hundred not wearing masks and not social distancing but waving Palestinian flags; neither Glasgow City Council, nor the Scottish Government have condemned this demonstration's threat to family safety and health. The Justice Secretary, Humza Yousaf was thankful because he revealed his Brother-in-Law and nieces and nephews are currently in Gaza under bombardment. Susan Aitken has said nothing because Gerry Braiden hasn't told her to say anything, yet. To defeat transference of Covid and all avoidance of official derisory and derogatory comments from Scottish officialdom, carry a Palestinian flag. If only all those BIG Pharmaceutical companies had known this fact before months were wasted on vaccine research. It makes you proud of Caledonia, carrying a Palestinian flag sees you at forefront of the new enlightenment. Fellow Bears, take my advice; whilst celebrating the 55th, wave the flag and wear a Yasser Arafat badge. Guaranteed to keep you safe from both virus and arrest.2 points

Genuinely don't get all this masked fans stuff. More about the Union Bears self promotion than Rangers winning the league if you ask me.2 points

Holy smoke, we're drowning in sanctimony here. Who knew Instead of the "we know what's good for you" moralising where none is due or wanted, how about just relaxing and letting people decide for themselves. Those who want to gather in George Square should do so and accept the consequences fo their actions. Those who don't can do something else. No one is being coerced into marching or gathering and no one should be dissuaded either.2 points

But not yesterday's demo, or last weekend's Palestine one, or the nationalist one that took place the previous (?) week? Maybe we do have something to demonstrate about if the SNP continue to use us as a political football? It's been proven that the chances of transmission in the open air are very small, and the worst reason for tomorrow not happening is because of the risk of the SNP using us as an excuse for their own inadequacies or their puritanical outlook on life.2 points

You're preaching to the converted mate... I listened to a chap around the same age as me on Radio Scotland this morning. He recently lost his Mum and Dad to CV19 (both reasonably healthy people in their mid 60s) within 24 hours of each other. A very close friend of mine lost his Grandad and his Dad (another healthy guy in his mid 60s) within a week of each other. People can treat such stuff lightly and I'm sure the vast majority of people will be safe and sensible. But the risk is still there and it's not worth it when we can all enjoy the game in the comfort of our own home with a few pals around. I've also no doubt the polis will be spoiling for some action this time and everyone that attends has been warned...2 points

If ever there was a justifiable reason for mixing only with white people, the vaccine uptake figures are it. That should trigger a predictable response.2 points

Never actually been a fan of Durham with his controversies which are clearly sometimes for winding up people, but he is very Pro Rangers which is obviously great. But here what he says is very correct - we haven't just snatched the title on the last day - we have mauled this title away from them in record time after a massive rebuild where only a few years ago we were still struggling in the likes of Luxembourg. That is why Gerrard eased the Manager of the year award: The almost unbeaten season (should be able to edit almost tomorrow) The terrific Euro run two years in a row - completing with good European sides The team / weekly XI is a well oiled machine which we saw in 92-93 and 98-00 - which includes a defensive record is simply phenomenal Power has not only been restored in the OF games - we have been light years ahead of them recently. I think I'll go onto talksport listen again feature and see if there was a meltdown of callers ?2 points

I can't remember a title before where the fans could not get into the stadium to celebrate, I was 100% behind the stay at home message but in light of the last few days where a mob of immigrants and their supporters commited an act that would in some countries resulted in police or army action to enforce the rule of law with guns and batons. Only in Scotland would such an act be applauded and lauded in ways which to me seem like madness, it's bad enough the cities are turning into 3rd world shitholes that resemble Syria or Mumbai, bowing to it and refusing to speak out for fear of being branded a racist, people need to wake up and smell the coffee before you find yourself as a Rangers supporter excluded from society in favour of those who came to seek a better life, allegedly.1 point

It's ironic, but Glasgow police were criticised in some quarters for not following the letter of the law when we won the league. Some wanted kettling, mass arrests, roads closed and forced dispersal. Glasgow police, sensibly I thought, pointed out that would have been disproportionate and that officers on the ground made decisions based on crowd and public safety and their feel for the mood and moment. I'm surprised to see you're a critic of that approach. ?1 point

An "illegal gathering" is an illegal gathering, whether it is 'spontaneous', or 'organised'. Both represent breaches of the law, and must be treated thus. One may be seen as a more serious infraction than the other, but that does not free the lesser action from illegality. The reasons for assembly are irrelevant, although they may figure in any assessment of the public interest in undertaking prosecution, the nature and extent of charges, and the sanctions imposed following establishment of guilt.1 point

Would be nice if there was a flute band playing at the square giving it big licks1 point

That's naive Billy, and you know it. Many were fairly happy to excuse the celebrations when we won the league, I certainly was. There was a spontaneity to it and a release of pent up tension and anticipation. This time it's different.1 point

Some of these Championship days have been an anti-climax. If anyone is fated to spoil the record it’s Aberdeen. To Hell with that. 5-0 to the Famous.1 point

i really would prefer it if people obeyed the rules. that said there can hardly be any condemnation if they don't after yesterday. That would be persecution.1 point

One last push for us to remain unbeaten. No doubt the sheep will be keen to ruin things but if the players maintain recent standards, it should be a victory. A clean sheet would also be nice. Mon The Rangers! ??1 point

A gathering is a gathering, irrespective of its reason, or purpose. The motives for a gathering would come into play only in matters of punishment.1 point

That would make sense, but (if I understand correctly) no. If Chelsea were to finish 5th but win the Champions League, they'd get a spot along with the top 4. If the Chelsea or Man City win the Champions League and finish top 4, the champions of the country ranked 11 (Turkey this year, us next year) get upgraded to an automatic group stage spot. https://kassiesa.net/uefa/AccessList2021.html1 point

Firstly what a dour game with Villa and Everton. How many chances have Everton had to get into 5th and never take it. Massive win for Liverpool and its very likely they will sneak into the CL spots now if they win their last 3 games. Leicester on 66 can get onto 72. Chelsea on 64 can get to 70. Liverpool on 60 cant get to 69. Chelsea and Leicester have to meet in the league meaning both cant reach their max points tally available. Personally Im hoping Liverpool have a slip somewhere but I just see them sneaking in as its 3 very winnable games. Anyway onto this weekend. Newcastle 0-3 Man City Burnley 1-1 Leeds Southampton 2-1 Fulham Brighton 0-2 West Ham Crystal Palace 1-2 Aston Villa Tottenham 2-1 Wolves West Brom 0-2 Liverpool Everton 2-0 Sheff Utd FA Cup Final Chelsea 0-0 Leicester Leicester to win on Pens.1 point

Ambush! This Saturday, the Premiership trophy will be held aloft by James Tavernier, BBC Scotland will NOT attend Ibrox to report on the end of our particular journey. There will be some platitudes offered by the disinterested, there will be the obligatory mention of Steven Gerrard only securing one trophy in nine and, there will be impatient haste to move matters on to the awaiting, primed ambush. Thistle fans celebrated their League 1 title win amid fireworks, Palestinian supporters gathered in George Square on Tuesday evening and, the Yahoo collective gathered for the Broonaldo goodbye. No masks, no social distancing and, no reporting by the national Broadcaster. A successful ambush requires two stop groupings and a killing group. A couple of senior Police Scotland representatives have made pleas and the Justice Secretary, Humza Yousaf has revealed he has endured liaisons with the Club; keeping our families safe is the message. There is no point in paying attention to detail, a freedom of information request by Rangers supporters to reveal the extent of liaison between Club and Police Scotland when we won the league several weeks past, has resulted in 18 pages of A4 being released, 17 fully redacted. Apparently, the First Minister has no recall? The initiation will come from one of the usual suspects, probably Cosgrove; he has already quashed whataboutery, "simply, they are a disgrace". The trigger fingers of the killing group will squeeze until the empty klick, then the reorganisation will involve lots of empathy for Police Scotland, both Calum Steele and David Hamilton have already provided Chris McLaughlin with numerous quotes. From atop the moral high ground the artillery of perceived morality will reign and feelings of superiority will mask ra Sellik's implosion and Scotland's second best team, Aberdeen finishing fourth for the third successive season. A Change of Phase. The most crucial aspect of an ambush is preparation. PQ has been preparing the ground for ..... well forever. Two weekends past, the social media blackout in support of anti-racism was consuming 48 hours. BBC Radio Scotland had a 25 minute discussion on the merits and success of such a protest. Big Dick hosted the contributions and nothing notable was added, then Michael Stewart offered a well rehearsed diatribe. The real problem in Scotland is sectarianism(Mark Walters debut did not happen); however, we must note things have improved in Scotland(Morelos does not exist), "things are improving all the time". A necessary sop to 14 years of Nationalistic governance. The man who lamented Rangers pursuing both Ross County's Gardyne for homophobic comments and Slavia Prague's Kudela for racist utterance declared, "sectarianism is racism". Prepared ground right there, the only organisation I have seen promoting such a phrase, is Angela Haggerty and Jeanette Findlay's, 'Call it Out'. Sectarianism is racism is the change of phase that will see the next stick the boot into the H-u-ns free fun. All other contributors to this discussion, including the Chair, Big Dick let his concluding comments go unchallenged. Manager of the Year? Last weekend had Big Dick Host another round robin discussion on Manager of the Year on BBC Radio Scotland. We had fifteen minutes of the usual suspects chorusing Calum Davidson as the only candidate. Apparently, guiding one's club into two national finals in the same season is a stick on for Manager of the Year. Pity, no one informed the three different Rangers managers securing Trebles in the last forty-odd years, and still NOT securing the award. I agree that Davidson has performed particularly well in his first managerial season, but I will leave it to the national broadcaster's final contributor, Derek Ferguson to make Steven Gerrard's case. In silence, he pointed out Gerrard's European record, as well as remaining undefeated in the league and, being 55 points in front of St Johnstone. Of course, corresponding budgets were mentioned and Ferguson pointed out Saints defeating Kelty Hearts, Peterhead and Brechin City in the League Cup group stages was hardly comparable to Rangers conquering Benfica, Standard Liege and, Poznan. Further, Rangers topped their group and the last three seasons results have ensured Scotland has five places in European competition next season. Oh Derek, having a son playing at Aberdeen will not protect you. You have got in the way of expediency, at PQ interviewing Calum Davidson is a lot easier than talking to Steven Gerrard. Anyways, the disgust is on the rise; Big Dick spent last evening on Open All Mikes expressing his displeasure at Rangers penalty and supporters letting off fireworks at the 55th minute. There was no live commentary on the Champions, it was reserved for the best footballing side against the potential second best Scots club in the last decade, at Sellik Park. It will be the same this coming Saturday, PQ will be at Easter Road. We pay our License Fees, we don not receive the service and, we wonder if an Ambush can be triggered by proxy?1 point
