Surely the advantage is being able to coach and field a team rather than send individuals to be coached by God knows who. It may well be the case that the decision to do this is a direct result of loan players returning in a worse state than when they left. If that's the case then the level of opposition is a lot less important than is being made out.4 points

I think the idea is Rangers are able to control their development a lot better, as well as retaining the same system as the first team.4 points

"No one likes us, we don't care.". I embrace the hatred the Scottish press and government have for us. They can't punish Rangers for things that happen in the steets and people who hate us won't start liking us because we do as we're told. I hope all in attendance have a cracking day.3 points

I don't agree with you that playing in the lower leagues as a young player is detrimental. A look at the current Scotland squad suggests the opposite in fact. What holds back player development is not playing matches. Yes, players can pick up bad habits, but frankly they can do that at Rangers too. Surely playing in the Championship is better for a player's development than playing in the Lowland League. The intensity and level of football is higher in the Championship than in the Lowland League. I'm interested in the idea that by remaining at Rangers and being trained at Auchenhowie the player will develop better than if they're at Arbroath on loan. If that's the case then why haven't Rangers produced countless first team players in the last decade? If keeping control of their training and development is what matters then surely we've had that all along? If Kai Kennedy fails to make it into the Rangers first team is that the fault of Raith Rovers? Scottish football is at a low ebb, riven by self interest and short-termism and hampered by a lack of finance. I'm happy to see if playing our youngsters in the Lowland League will help but I'm sceptical.2 points

I have two opposing views to this, firstly, why do UB want to march to George Sqaure in the first place. Pubs are open again, celebrate the victory and go and enjoy yourselves with like minded Bears and party in your own places. Why the need for this GIRUY garbage? Screams of look at me. Secondly, we should be afforded the same opportunities to march and be reported in a balanced way, in the same way as the recent George Square marches for Indy & Palestine. But of course we all know we wont be and if will be a repeat of the negative outcry we viewed when the title was clinched some months ago. Given that we know for sure how this will be reported, why would any of our fans want to bring this negative attention on the club and our fans?2 points

Course they didn’t. Or even the best bidder. Remember the 4 parties at the beginning after administration? The blue knights, Ng, Bill Miller and the one who caused blind panic to Whyte’s chosen administrators D&P, Brian Kennedy the businessman with the proven track record who should have owned Rangers there and then. But his bid got chucked out for being too low. Very suspicious. Who advised him I wonder ? Quite how Bill Miller the US truck guy who(as I understood) had never been outside the USA in his life got preferred bidder status was laughable. But as we know Miller withdrew his bid & Chuckles Green’s consortium rode into town to save the day....or so we thought after the CVA failed. Green was really in cahoots with Whyte who couldn’t be seen to own Rangers after he got banned sin die by the SFA. Green duped Whyte and instead of transferring the club & assets to Sevco 5088(in which Whyte was a director) he transferred them to Sevco Scotland (in which Whyte wasn’t a director). The debacle continued for the next 3 years with all sorts shady shareholders and dubious directors until t3b & king arrived in 2015. The rest the say is now history but will be interesting so see what eventual conclusions BDO come to at the end of the liquidation process which could still be some time away by looks of things2 points

They might manage to be right all by themselves.1 point

Don’t know why we couldn’t have got this Livingston game moved to the weekend with neither side having a game and tv not picking it up anyway. Makes no sense to me going 10 days without a game then 2 in 4 days to finish the season. Scottish football administration in all its glory.1 point

I’d be happy for Jones to stay in Sunderland, for the right fee of course. If he plays a part in their promotion to the Championship, the discussions should start at £5M, as that is what really shit players are transferred for in that overpriced and overrated league.1 point

IIRC he's talked about changing a few times and with teams like Man City and Chelsea using that system successfully, I think we may do so as well in European games. We've used different variations of the 4-3-3 over the last year (4-3-2-1 primarily but also a 4-2-3-1 and even a 4-3-1-2 more recently) but I feel the manager will want even more flexibility for our next campaign.1 point

Still a Gers four this time chosen by players and not writers so can in a way see why they have chosen Kent and not Goldson as Kent must have terrified most of them.1 point

Has Connor Goldson run over someone's dog? Because he should have been on that list by any measure you like.1 point

Only thing is pubs are not open till 17th,no doubt gleefully announced by Nippy today, thus no chance for any of us to celebrate"inside" but maybe in a beer garden if you can get into one showing the game. Dates although known for some time to me were orchestrated to inhibit our celebrations.1 point

Well, I think it's a great idea. Would like to see the club officially brand them as the Swifts though. It's surely better than random loans out.1 point

This is taking a team of young guys (under 20, for the most part?) and sticking them into the Juniors. It will certainly toughen them up, but.......1 point

This is really interesting. Looking forward to seeing how it works out.1 point

Yesterday, I was viewing the Scottish Cup semi-final between St Johnstone and St Boo. Midway through the second half, I thought the game needed a spark, a mercurial spirit to break the deadlock? Step forward Rangers on loan winger at the Perth Saints, Glenn Middleton. He arrived as a substitute and in five minutes, had swept in a handsome cross for a Kane tap in, and then curved a handsome 25 yard free kick into the roof of the net. Handsome is handsome and even bitter Saintee, Stuart Cosgrove must agree? It is a conundrum. If we go back more than a couple of decades, Rangers faced St Johnstone in the Scottish Cup semi-final at Sellik Park. The Light Blues ran out comfortable winners, four zip and it appeared all too much for the Soulful Saintee. Post match, sitting in Queen Street station with a few mates awaiting the train to Perth, Stuart took to drink. As his mates boarded the choo-choo, Doctor Stuart bellowed, "can you spot a handsome H-u-n"? It's a call and response song, having asked the question, DrStu answered, "No, no, no". Those witnessing such embarrassment saw further disgrace visited upon Dennistoun's working class hero when the British Transport Police intervened and charged him with Breach of the Peace. Of course, these days Humza would insist on Aggravated Breach. Cosgrove appeared on the front page of the News of the World and he took to his own column in the Daily Record to further question, "well, has anyone actually seen a handsome h-u-n"? Amid the sweep of the Dennistoun Drives, Stuart is acknowledged as a glittering young Adonis. It's the terroir of all those terraced private gardens, the cultivated Red-Leb' is seriously strong. It's that, or it's sharing chauffeured cars with Murdoch McLennan and lunching at Gamba with Neil Doncaster that stimulates DrStu's question. Cosgrove has a long term H term habit. He has penned articles describing meeting Rangers supporters in Falkirk railway station as, "h-u-ns and typical orange wankers", habitually introduced a guest, Largs based Janitor, Chris Connor as, "the H-u-n with a heart" on Off the Ball and loved labelling Craig Whyte on the Rangers Tax Case Blog as, "H-u-nbelievable". Even when his mates like Irvine Welsh describe Morelos as, "a sticky bun" live on Hibs TV, Stuart does not Call it Out. It is his preferred prejudice and he sits extremely comfortably with it. We should remember all this because the coming weekend sees Rangers receive the Premiership trophy. Cosgrove will revert to type, clutching his script provided by Glasgow City Council's PRO, Gerry Braiden. He will repeat again, his verdict on celebrating Bears, "simply a disgrace". It's akin to those hoary old Radio One DJs back in the day; Dave Lee Travis and Noel Edmonds arriving breathlessly in front of the mike to tell tales of weekend supermarket openings. Cosgrove will comment on his book sales, flag up his availability for book signings and, stick the boot in the h-u-ns. Glenn Middleton is getting uglier by the minute.1 point
