I tend to agree with Bluedell on Simpson's performance at the weekend. What I'd say in Simpson's defence is he's barely played any football. I don't even mean just this season, I mean ever. He's 24 and had only played 20 first team matches (some of them as sub) during his entire time with Bournemouth, his only other professional club. By the same age Conner Goldson had played 106 first team games albeit at a lower level. For me Simpson is a gamble by our scouting department. They're hoping that with development and games there's a player in there Bournemouth had yet to discover. They might well be right, only time will tell. For me Simpson is certainly behind Goldson, Helander, Balogun and Katic depending on how he recovers from his injury. Maybe even behind George Edmundson if he stays in the summer. The Rangers first team is a challenging environment to learn your trade though, we expect our 24 year old centre halves to be close to the finished article and Simpson certainly isn't that. Perhaps a run of games is all he needs to build his confidence, understanding and reading of the game, I have my doubts as to whether he'll get them with us though. Anyway, I refuse to criticise any of our players from Sunday's match, a 4-1 win over Celtic earns you a week off from me.4 points

When all said and done, micro-agression is a very small thing and I'm sure Mr Obohorf is above all that. Only the other day we were posting on here about a Mr Baresic and I'm sure neither he nor Mr Morales take any notice.3 points

The boy came in did the job and did a good job more so in an old firm game the boy did very well .3 points

Can you imagine the stooshie that would cause? Amongst others, Partick were undoubtedly victims of panic at the SPFL but, let's face it, no club has suffered more than Rangers at the hands of these absolute bastards or has more justification in barring the doors to them. I'm sure every Rangers fan that read about Partick's decision immediately thought the same as you Compo.2 points

A childish, petulant reaction by Thistle which will no doubt have repercussions. I would have done the same.2 points

Ian McCall last night confirmed that Partick Thistle have banned the SFA and SPFL from attending their League One trophy celebrations. The manager remains infuriated at his side’s unfair relegation from the Championship last season on a points per game basis, with just 0.04 points separating them from Queen of the South. The West End Jags will be officially crowned champions on Wednesday evening, but no officials from either governing body will be permitted inside the stadium to take part in the ceremony. McCall admitted it may be a somewhat strange atmosphere inside the stadium as they lift the silverware, but he and his players will celebrate as normal. “It'll be eerie getting the trophy on Wednesday and all the players get their medals,” he told BBC Sportsound. “Luckily for us the club and me were in complete agreement because nobody from the SFA and the SPFL will be allowed in the stadium, which is great. "That's happening, they're not allowed in the stadium. Simple as that. They won't be allowed in. "I'm not going to go into all that tonight, but the reason I said to Chick (Young) about love and peace was Chick was doing what he should be doing, trying to prod me and get things. “But is it really going to make a difference? Is the governance going to change when it's been incompetent for decades now? Is it going to change? I don't know, we just need to try and look after ourselves and try and win another title next season.” McCall went on to explain how he and club chief Gerry Britton could not believe the disconnect when he was sent a congratulatory text from Neil Doncaster. “Do you know what really worries me? Myself and my chief executive Gerry Britton got texts from Neil Doncaster saying, 'congratulations, worthy champions'. "That level of, just not knowing what's going on, not understanding, closing your eyes to a situation, is bewildering. "Did I reply? Absolutely not. He can think better than to send a text to the bloody manager of Partick Thistle.” https://www.glasgowtimes.co.uk/sport/19276315.ian-mccall-confirms-spfl-sfa-banned-partick-thistle-title-celebration-demotion-row/?ref=twtrec1 point

More chance they are delaying their managerial announcement because nobody half decent wants the job at such a basket case club...1 point

He's been injured. But I'm not expecting much from him at all to be honest, at least not next season. Even when he was fit he struggled to get game time in a very weak Wycombe side.1 point

There used to be issues around work permits, I assume there still is. Unless a player was a full international and had played a certain amount of games at that level he couldn't get a work permit for the UK. France and Belgium had different rules on this. I know very little about Sakala but Wiki reports he's played 13 games for Zambia since 2017 so he's close to a first choice international and should qualify for a work permit.1 point

I reckon Ofoborh is similar type of player to Kamara: A tall and imposing and laid back, defensive midfielder, but, without the technical ability and ball control of Kamara.1 point

I think Itten will get another season. Sometimes it takes players a while to get settled. For me, he's shown flashes of being a good striker. He's just not been able to show it with any consistency -- the so few games he's had doesn't help. He came off the bench to score a couple of good goals against Motherwell... what seems like years ago. And there are moments when he can receive the ball under pressure, back to goal, and rag-doll defenders with ease.1 point

What I am worried about would be the cost of police in riot gear to protect them should they try to get near our stadium.1 point

It's Monday evening after the old firm victory(4-1) the day before. Sportsound on BBC Radio Scotland are leading with Partick Thistle's League 1 championship win. The Jags manager, former 'Ger, Ian McCall is in the studio. Still raging, legitimately so at their demotion from the Championship on the SPFL's say so(where did that Dundee vote go over that particular weekend), he announces Thistle will NOT welcome any SPFL representatives to their trophy presentation on Tuesday evening. Tom English asks, "you're banning Neil Doncaster"? McCall answers, "Yes, and Murdoch McLennan". McCall goes on a wee rant about the governance of the Scottish game and concludes, "I don't know who Murdoch McLennan is, what does he do"? Tom English answers, "you are asking the wrong guy". Of course, Private Eye has known Murdoch McLennan for many years, his years running the Telegraph titles are summed up by the satirical magazine's preferred name for McLennan, "Shifty McGifty". Even better, why don't PQ go to their in house Murdoch McLennan expert? It's only a fortnight past that Stuart Cosgrove revealed he regularly shared a ride home to sarf London in Shifty's Chauffeur driven car, over a period of three years. Further, Cosgrove is Doncaster's lunch partner at Gamba. 27 years at PQ and a major briefer in Scottish football, and when Cosgrove can provide a real insight, no one deliberately so, wants to talk to him. These days, Cosgrove regularly criticises those using social media to comment on football, he doesn't like folk hiding behind usernames; isn't that so, Sarah Leyden? Even better, why don't Sellik TV get former employee, Michael Stewart to visit Shifty in his comfy heated green leather seat in the North Stand and ask the difficult questions on Scottish football goverance?1 point

Simpson lost Ajer at a couple of corners, one of which caused their goal. He ended up getting taken off marking him. He got turned inside out by Edouard late in the first half and had to be saved by a great tackle by Davis. He failed to stop the cross which led to the Turnbull chance. He even got turned inside out by Kenny late in the game and looked decidedly dodgy every time he was one on one with an opponent. He looked comfortable with the ball at his feet and had a good interception in the first half but defensively I thought he was relatively poor.1 point
