  1. Naismith walks into the team. The question of Weir is an interesting one. He played well in a back four that contained Papac. Did Weir have the speed to allow our full backs to bomb up the park as much as they do? I don't think Gerrard picks Weir because of that.

  2. didn't want to let the celtc player off and convict the rangers player in the same day.

  3. They don't even try to hide it. We all know Roofe will end up with a three game ban and Rangers will just accept it

  5. EDIT: Rangers are monitoring the progress of Israel's Player of the Month, Maccabi Haifa midfielder, Dolev Haziza, according to reports in the country. The Ibrox side have reportedly registered an interest in the 25-year-old, who has been enjoying a fine season in his homeland and has less than 18 months to go on his contract.Haziza signed for Maccabi Haifa last year and has hugely impressed this season, culminating in him being named Player of the Month for January. TM says ... mostly right-winger (and we do like to player wingers these days) this season, 7 goals and 5 assists in 23 games this season.Has played a lot as left-winger and attacking midfielder too, TM full stats here.

  6. I would only take peak Naismith and Jelavic to add to the current team. Maybe Weir, but then again, isn't our defence better now? I was a big fan of Papac, but I think Barisic brings a better all-round game? I wasn't a fan of Smith's side. It ground out results, but the football was atrocious.

  7. Comedic Exaggeration. 'Comedic exaggeration' was the phrase deployed by Stuart Cosgrove to excuse his big mate, Irvine Welsh. The Hibee had gone raj on the David Tanner hosted Hibs TV. Welsh casually utilised a sectarian term, "sticky bun" to describe Alfredo Morelos, then stated, "he should be chopped up with a machete and pieces sent to the corners of the globe to feed the seagulls". Of course, Cosgrove ignored the the awkward usage of, "sticky bun", because only Rangers supporters(or as Cosgrove wrote, "H-u-ns and typical orange wankers") can be seen to indulge in sectarianism. His proclamation of, "comedic exaggeration" is to ensure Hibs are not hit with a charge of bringing the game into disrepute. Further, Cosgrove has laughingly cautioned Hibs, "what do you expect from Irvine Welsh, he's up there with Jerry Sadowitz and Frankie Boyle" Thus Cosgrove's mitigation is initially to ignore, then widen, and finally ameliorate. We know Hibs will not be charged by the SFA as surely as we know, if similar comments were uttered on Rangers TV by a Rangers supporting celebrity, then questions would be aired in the Scottish Parliament, with Cosgrove's full support. Another PQ production, 'A View from the Terrace' addressed Welsh's comments on Friday evening last. I think with a bit more honestly. Unlike Cosgrove and Off the Ball, they played the tape of the Author sitting extremely comfortably with his preferred prejudice. Again, they did not broadcast the "sticky bun" comment, but Robert Borthwick who deals with social media on the show allowed the tape to run without further comment. No mitigation provided, viewers allowed to make up their own minds. Tomorrow, Rangers are set to appeal Keymar Roofe's retrospective red card, issued by a three person panel. The Compliance Officer designation is currently unfilled, Claire Whyte has moved on to a position within the Scottish Government. This in contrast to Morelos, the club have accepted his three match ban, quite correctly for the Columbian's stamp on Ryan Porteous at Easter Road. Being a St Johnstone fan, Cosgrove has provided no mitigation for Roofe, not needed, he is comfortable that these citations are almost exclusively Rangers players. There is a parallel between Cosgrove's demands and Rangers players, particularly Morelos. Remember last season at Fir Park, Alfie had been pelted by coins and scalding hot drinks, he scored the winner and ran to the claret and amber Ultras, running his flat hand across his throat? Cosgrove did not hesitate, such gesticulation was NOT "comedic exaggeration; he wanted Compliance Officer action. Further, Ryan Kent's double handed pistol shooting celebration at Sellik Park, was also an instance when the objective Gang Hutter wanted Compliance Officer action. If you confer with a Thesaurus, "Comedic Exaggeration" can be explained/substituted by the word, 'Amplification'. Cosgrove has a firm hand on the amplification control, up to eleven when accusing Rangers. When Rangers or Rangers supporters are targeted, it's turned down so low, you cannot hear a "sticky bun" comment.

  8. Dirty job, but someone had to do it ? Far from vintage performance yesterday ,but Barisic put some decent crosses in, Goldson was dominant in the air , and subs Jack and Davis proved again how important they are to the team. Would have hoped, and far preferred to be giving it to a striker, but McGregor gets the nod from me.

  12. I wouldn`t put it beyond a SNP party member to force us to forfeit European games, but for the time being, this looks like "training camps" only. Then again, maybe he didn`t say it correctly and three former SNP party members will clarify this ban to extend it to Rangers players too.

  14. There's an inevitability about this issue and, like having a corrupt referee on the park, there's not a thing we can do about it without either bringing the game into disrepute or releasing the photos of Maxwell, Petrie and Doncaster in the bath together.

  15. The rules are there and need to be applied. And they need to be applied for all cases out there. You can`t have Darren McGregor getting away with a yellow for that challenge and stamp, with the ref clearly seeing what was going on, yet apply different rules to the same incident. Or, indeed, do not cite people for worse when it is not even spotted (or actively overlooked) by the referee.

  20. Cousin - yes unplayable when he wanted to be. I remember that goal he scored at Parkhead and ran straight to Super Ally who had told Walter to play him. He was also outstanding against Barca at Ibrox.

  24. My front three would be Roofe and Naismith behind Jelavic. All goalscorers.

  25. Weir, Naismith and Jelavic . Naismith would be absolutely perfect in our team right now, he is an upgrade to Arfield. Despite my dislike for him in the past he was still a good player. Jelavic all round game and attitide pips Morelos and Weir was an outstanding professional and you need him. Bar those 3 Im not taking anyone else. Kent v Weiss is interesting - both world beaters on their day. Kent has done is more for me though, Weiss was great when he wanted to be.

  26. I think our last day team was McGregor Whittaker Weir Boughera Papac Davis Edu Naismith Wylde Lafferty Jalavic This team is better with Naismith and Jelavic the real contenders to play now. Besides the obvious.

  30. Sunday was disappointing, not disastrous. It's a marathon, not a sprint. Our results since Xmas have been a massive improvement on last January. Our performances have been classic January/February fare. Few in this team have any experience of winning titles, they will soon. Hamilton in early February will be long forgotten when the league trophy is held aloft.

  31. I wouldn't juggle too much. Especially if we win it early and remain unbeaten. I think professional pride should mean we should be aiming for an unbeaten season if it is possible.
