Tell me a team that would expect to win an away game without the quality of Davis, Jack, Arfield, Morelos, Roofe. Gerrard took a gamble today with his team selection to give important players a break with one eye on our ipcoming schedule, and it didn’t work out. He has earned that gamble with the lead we have established, so to give 2 points away is probably in the big picture worth it for us. 3 of our next 4 games are at home where we are 100% so let’s just put this down to a failed punt and move onwards and upwards.

Further, Cosgrove has laughingly cautioned Hibs, "what do you expect from Irvine Welsh, he's up there with Jerry Sadowitz and Frankie Boyle" Thus Cosgrove's mitigation is initially to ignore, then widen, and finally ameliorate. We know Hibs will not be charged by the SFA as surely as we know, if similar comments were uttered on Rangers TV by a Rangers supporting celebrity, then questions would be aired in the Scottish Parliament, with Cosgrove's full support. Another PQ production, 'A View from the Terrace' addressed Welsh's comments on Friday evening last. I think with a bit more honestly. Unlike Cosgrove and Off the Ball, they played the tape of the Author sitting extremely comfortably with his preferred prejudice. I disagree. The time to rest players and tinker is when this is done. Say we were to drop points due to a few more draws. That could potentially reduce our lead to 11 pts. We still have to play them twice and who's to say they dont get their tails up and win those 2 games. Just play our best XI in all games until this is done. There is too much riding on this to risk it on trying to prove a point about the depth of our squad.

Numerous things. 1) He should have pitched for a tried and trusted centre half for cover. (Are they regretting losing Lovren?). Imagine Rangers defence was Jack and Davis? - Its unthinkable and distrups the rest of the team. 2) Salah is obviously not at the races and at the stage in his career where he is thinking about Barca or Real. 3) Empty stadiums - I know its the same for everyone but Liverpool's home crown in the big games can have an effect unless you are Diego Simeone and Atletico Madrid or Sir Alex. 4) Bit of lack of creativity in the midfield. Thigao, Wjunildum (sp) and whoever plays are quite similar, they dont ever try a No.10. Klopp will get more time and the aim will be top 4. You dont get rid of a manager who has made progress to finals then winning the CL and record points in the top flight plus breaking the 30 year spell. IMO Gerrard wont be considered until he has another 2-3 years and trophies on his CV, they will have looked at Chelsea and seen what has happened there. I dont think Gerrard is going anywhere. He will want a crack at the CL next season at Ibrox.

Late leveller denies lethargic Rangers 'smash and grab' win A late own goal from Allan McGregor denied Rangers all three points at Hamilton after the league leaders put in arguably their worst performance of the season. Rangers were literally seconds away from securing another three points when Ronan Hughes sent in a cross for Bruce Anderson, whose header was brilliantly saved by McGregor, only for the rebound to land at Ross Callachan whose shot was going across the face of goal until it deflected off McGregor and into the net. The draw was a blow to Rangers in their pursuit of their first league title since 2011 in what was a bad day at the office for Steven Gerrard’s men. The Rangers manager named three changes to the side which defeated St Johnstone midweek, with Bongani Zungu, Glen Kamara and Cedric Itten coming in for Ryan Jack, Steven Davis and Kemar Roofe. Rangers battered the Lanarkshire side 8-0 at Ibrox in November and it was widely expected that Rangers would dictate the tempo and possession in this fixture, but early on it was Hamilton who looked the livelier with Anderson having a shot at McGregor’s goal which was blocked for a corner. Rangers first opportunity came on 14 minutes when a Hagi shot from long range went just wide. Then Joe Aribo came close with a great run and curling effort which went inches past Fulton’s right hand post in the Hamilton goal with the keeper beaten. A defensive mix-up then allowed Anderson with a chance which Allan McGregor had to be on his toes to save. Helander failed to control a pass from Connor Goldson, which allowed Anderson to steal possession and pull the save from Rangers keeper. As the first-half wore on it was apparent that Rangers were struggling control the game in their usual manner and half-time provided a chance to regroup and address the lethargy. Rangers then introduced Kemar Roofe for Cedric Itten. Ryan Kent had another indifferent performance, but he should have put Rangers ahead on 73 minutes when a brilliant disguised pass from Ryan Jack put him in on goal, but the Englishman shot wide when it seemed easier to score. McGregor was called into action again when he had to deal with a fizzing Ross Callaghan free-kick, as Rangers were forced to introduce Steven Davis for Glen Kamara. But then Rangers took an undeserved lead on 81 minutes with an own goal from Brian Easton. Steven Davis played a great ball through to Borna Barisic, who fizzed in a low cross which deflected in off the Hamilton defender. It was a bitter blow for the home team who had done so much more in the game than their more illustrious opponents, and it seemed like Rangers would march on to yet another win. However, with seconds remaining, Hamilton got the equaliser they deserved thanks to Callachan deflecting his shot off McGregor – the goal coming so late into injury time that Bobby Madden couldn’t restart the game. Steven Gerrard said after the game: “We should be happy to take the point from this game because we didn't deserve anything. I'm actually relieved to go away from this game with a point. "We nearly won ugly, got a smash and grab, but we need to be better than that. We just weren't at the races today, there's so much for me to look through, and for me as well. Maybe I left too much quality and personality on the sidelines because we looked better when the subs came on." The Rangers manager also revealed after the game that the club will challenge the SFA charge against striker Kemar Roofe for his challenge on Murray Davidson during the win over St Johnstone at Ibrox. Dirty job, but someone had to do it ? Far from vintage performance yesterday ,but Barisic put some decent crosses in, Goldson was dominant in the air , and subs Jack and Davis proved again how important they are to the team. Would have hoped, and far preferred to be giving it to a striker, but McGregor gets the nod from me.

Sunday was disappointing, not disastrous. It's a marathon, not a sprint. Our results since Xmas have been a massive improvement on last January. Our performances have been classic January/February fare. Few in this team have any experience of winning titles, they will soon. Hamilton in early February will be long forgotten when the league trophy is held aloft.

IMO Celtic will struggling to reach 85 points. Do the maths. Only a collapse of about 6-8 defeats would cost us the title and thats not happening at this stage. How can a team who as only lost only to a Quality Bayer Leverkusen side go on such a run - it wont happen. Yesterday can be looked as a reminder - yet still didnt lose. Is anyone got one eye on the Liverpool situation? I can't see them getting rid of Klopp this season (too many key injuries) but he was untouchable at Dortmund and then it went sour quickly. Liverpool have not lost 3 consecutive league games at Anfield in 55 years. For our sakes, I hope they turn the corner soon.

The Gundogan penalty was one of the strangest techniques Ive ever seen. City have missed 8 pens in around a season and a half, that has to be addressed as it cost them at Anfield before when Mahrez ballooned one over the bar when going for a win. However they have shown there is a gap with them and the rest again, Liverpool without Van Dijk are nothing to fear yet the decision to stick with two central midfielders in defence is terrible. City will go for Haaland or Kane.

This entire affair is like Scotland in miniature - a hog wallow of corruption, patronage and collusion. When a Lord Advocate admits his justice system is maliciously prosecuting people, it's clear that legal process in Scotland can no longer be trusted. When a Scottish Government doesn't instigate an independent enquiry into abuses by its justice system, it implicates Govt Ministers in the corruption of justice. Then you have a First Minister who spends months squirming away from an enquiry into her own possible corruption. Effectively, Scotland is tantamount to a failed state, where the organs of state are actively flouting the law and colluding to maintain power by corruption. They've done this to our country in a few short years and they won't ever stop.

Whitehouse and Clark deny any wrongdoing and are contesting the claim. Kenny McBrearty, QC, for BDO, also told Lord Tyre that he did not find an eight-week hearing using a video conferencing “an appetising prospect”. McBrearty told the judge in an online hearing yesterday that he would prefer the case to be heard in Parliament House, the Edinburgh home of Scotland’s highest civil court. He said that he would rather not cross-examine significant witnesses “who are in the comfort of their own slippers who can nip off to make themselves a cup of tea during the break”. Whitehouse and Clark were appointed by the Court of Session after HMRC took Rangers to court for £18 million of unpaid tax in February 2012. The men went on to sell the business and assets to Charles Green’s consortium for £5.5 million before BDO was appointed to liquidate the old company. The three men were later among seven indicted over fraud allegations relating to Rangers; the case against them was dropped in June 2016. Whitehouse and Clark raised a multimillion-pound action against the police and prosecutors last year. Prosecutors admitted much of the case against them was “malicious” and conducted “without probable cause”. The pair recently received a settlement. BDO launched the present action against the two men in 2017. It issued a statement confirming that it was seeking a £28.9 million payment from the administrators. It added: “During the course of the liquidation questions have arisen regarding the strategy previously adopted by the former administrators, which have not, to date, been adequately answered. In seeking clarity, the joint liquidators have been left with no other option but to pursue the matter via the Scottish court.” In a 2017 statement Whitehouse said he was surprised by the legal move, adding: “In essence, BDO is now alleging that as the former administrators we should have achieved a better return for creditors by selling the clubs assets on a piecemeal basis, including Ibrox and its playing squad. “This is a strategy with which we fundamentally disagree.” In a procedural hearing yesterday Lord Tyre told McBrearty that he understood his position and that there remained some possibility that the action could be heard in a courtroom. Lord Tyre arranged for a further procedural hearing on March 30. The main hearing in the case is expected to start in May.
