  1. Quite a racist line up. You are trotting out the old black keepers are shite stereotype. Shame in you

  3. Oh really? Here's the thing; actually it's a thought for the New Year, about the squad, and about a potential Rangers' line up; I don't suppose this would start, in its entirety, for football/tactical reasons (shape, balance, etc), but it could, very easily, finish: McGregor Tavenier Goldson Balogun Bassey Kamara Aribo Zungu Roofe Morelos Defoe Wow! So, we -the alleged Klan- enter 2021 with a 21st Century roster of players, probably with the most BAME guys in Scotland, including the Club Captain. I wonder what FARE, Kick It Out, and the rest of them think about it. I wonder what Nil By Mouth thinks. We would have to speculate, of course, they all say nothing. Our playing staff don't fit their increasingly threadbare, derivative, and indolent, narrative. (Oh, and what is the Green Brigade's line, let's not forget the vanguard of the Most Oppressed People on Earth?) Of course the reasons for this are, it seems to me, purely related to football, to talent, and to how players have been developed and coached. This is not tokenism, or +ve discrimination, affirmative action, or the like. Nonetheless, we are now, precisely, actually, beyond the pale.....and we may, perhaps ought to, celebrate that. For the record: I haven't heard, or heard of, any Rangers' supporter, even from the Auld School, comment/ing on the ethnic make up of the squad, or on that of any of the individual players. I have heard -and read- the usual +ve and -ve observations on quality, etc, some of which, as ever, have been quite trenchant, but race, ethnicity, and, indeed, religion, don't figure. For the record, again: I should like the Korean lad, Son from Spurs. ALL THE BEST FOR THE NEW YEAR

  4. Aye, me Gonzo! Can't come quick enough (not usually an issue for me.....?) but we win tomorrow and the champagne is on ice! I am mental busy so not been on here for months. Good to see your all well and and still here! Think might pop some tunes on? Watched some reruns today instead of working, what can I say? Clearly I lack motivation when faced with a "work" or "Rangers" dilemma.....

  5. Been like that for the last few days tbh. I hate the time between Xmas and New Year. Feel like I'm tredding water

  8. I don't enjoy these matches - never have but we have nothing to fear. If we're set up correctly and apply ourselves, we will win. Over-confidence isn't a good thing but neither is fear. A victory would be like a dagger to the heart for Lennon and his team.

  10. Re my post I was at Rangers Club(Edmiston House) the night of his quote and Andy Cameron, who was on stage, gave us "breaking news Tommy Docherty was to be next Scotland Coach!!!) we all gasped he told us "they are taking his teeth out and putting seats in",true story. Happy 2021

  11. I remember when we signed Mark Walters and I liked all the English guys who came up here and made us a much better team. I also remember being disgusted at the abuse he received at the Piggery - even as an 8 year old I found it unbelievable. Can anyone think of a more abhorrent and large-scale racist incident at a British sports ground (genuine question)? Over 30 years later, you can still see the look in some people's eyes when they learn you're a Rangers fan (here's a backwards, intolerant moron). A support as big as our will always have a few dafties but all signings are given a chance and welcomed enthusiastically, regardless of skin colour or ethnicity, in my experience. We have nothing to prove to our detractors.

  12. Sorry guys no actual preview but I thought it would be easier to chat about this game on a new thread as opposed to the tail end of the St Mirren thread. Mods please feel free to merge and rename when it comes

  13. Attrocities were committed by all races and religions at some point in history, I'm certainly not going to go on a guilt trip for something my ancestors may have done, that's why it's called history because it's in the past.

  15. Jock Aird left back, Burnley and Scotland “had everything except ability” according to Docherty. He had a reasonable record as a manager.

  16. My favourite story/quote of his comes from his time at Rotheram when they were in Division 2. "I promised I would take Rotherham out of the Second Division - and I took them into the Third. The old chairman said, 'Doc, you're a man of your word!"'

  17. BTW, the memorabilia item really is top, top drawer. I'll be tweeting about it at 7.30pm tonight so, for a chance to win this, make sure you check my feed out.

  18. Cosgrove, himself, you may have noticed, is a man of variable accent. One might almost think that he had taken lessons in elocution. The accent, and the vernacular, which he employs when engaged in his repetitive, unamusing badinage with Terracing Tam differs significantly from those he uses when pontificating (oh, he is fond of preachifying) on matters he probably regards as beyond the ken of his OTB audience. Really quite strangulated pronunciation, and a different vocabulary, come into play when he is delivering his thoughts on, you know the kind of thing, say: "Throbbing Gristle - Pioneers of the Post-Rock Aesthetic"; or "Transformative Performance Art and New Balkan Sensibilities". The inverted snobbery of his fitba' pronouncements is ditched for -dare I say it- the intellectual snobbery of a metropolitan cultural elite. Ultimately, he is a pompous, hypocritical, snide, and pretentious old wind bag. But, apart from that......

  19. Brown's behaviour in the Cup Final was absolutely disgusting, taunting Halliday and Naismith with impunity.

  20. He once said of a player (can't remember who) that there was a place for him, but they hadn't dug it yet!

  21. Cosgrove is a man for purity. He doesn't like Anglo-Scots, "ah cannae stand the accent". Warren Cummings, Oli McBurnie, Bruce Rioch, Bob Wilson, ............ etc. Cosgrove is akin to Farage, he hates everything European and yet marries a German wife. Cosgrove spends thirty years being educated in Hull and working in London, but hates fellow Scots who have done similar and lost a bit of their accents by speaking slower and rounding vowels. Cosgrove owns a couple of flats in London, it's a growing property portfolio. Quite a recovery for a Bankrupt? Yep, DrStu shared a production company(A Big Star in a small picture) with Sellik supporter, Don Coutts. Often, I think it's why Cosgrove was such an effective poster on the Rangers Tax Case Blog, he had experienced bankruptcy himself. I wonder if his production company owed any face painters?

  23. That`s essentially it though. The way the Scum`s players are let of the hook for years now - as opposed to anyone else (and not least us) is obvious to anyone without tainted glasses. What baffles and angers me most is the silence from clubs, players, journalists and even officials with regards to this. There is a reason why the likes of Brown and Griffiths go on doing what they are doing with a smug smile on their faces, as they know nothing will be done. And even if a player takes the liberty and challenges them on the park, it is that player who gets drawn and quartered, not the scum. Of course, the most dignified and sporting action would be to horse them on the park, but that would not change the fouls the committed like Eduoard`s nor Brown`s abysmal posturing and goading of opposition players. Methinks their European "card return" is equal to ours, but in Scotland the facts show that they get far far less cards than anyone else ... and not because of them being the less offending players.

  24. If people are talking like that, you have to wonder if they have ever seen these games before. Celtic could be on a losing streak of 150 matches and I would still fear them getting a result at Ibrox. I hate these games tbh

  25. This is big for me too. Jack is brilliant in games like this. They have replaced Brown with Soro who, to me, looks a very good player. I think he has the potential to emerge as one of their best players, though it is early days. Turnbull and Griffiths have come in and they have both improved their 11 too. That’s not to say we have anything to fear. They have weaknesses throughout their squad but especially across the back 4. But I do think some are getting carried away taking it as a given that we will hammer them.

  27. One person who is completely focused is SG and when it comes to the way to approach or start a game......you have to hope that his influence is very much taken on board by the full starting XI. I remember going into the game two years ago thinking we'd struggle for energy after a hectic December but it was the first time I heard SG use the phrase "empty the tank" and our hunger for the game overwhelmed Celtic (1-0, Jack), who had been favourites to win the game. Strange as it may sound, we have to find a way to be as desperate as them to win this game and from the very start.

  28. I have to agree Buster. Not feeling confident about this game at all. Too many factors for me. Jack and Arfield missing out is huge. As much as we have been winning, we seem to have lost our playing identity somewhat and are not as fluid as we have been. And they seem to gaining momentum. Saying that, United still created a few chances against their ropey backline. Definitely watching this one from behind the couch...

  30. You can imagine Stuart Cosgrove having a look at that line-up and coming away with the line that none are able or willing to play for Scotland and the manager has a big hoose down in Liverpool.
