I thought Roofe, Kent and Morelos were all below par yesterday. Kent flattered to deceive but worked hard, Morelos worked hard and got into some good positions but his finishing was very poor and Roofe was as quiet as I remember him in a game. Dundee Utd deserve some credit for stopping us playing at our most fluent but we controlled most of the match and should have won by a more comfortable margin than we did. For me Morelos was never as good as some thought he was this time last season and he's not as bad as some think he is this season. All strikers go through spells where it's not happening and he seems to be having one just now. He's still our 3rd highest goal scorer for the season though and we're not even half way through. Itten is now putting pressure on Roofe and Morelos for a starting spot, his performance at Poznan and his wee run yesterday gave us a glimpse of the player he is. I've not been very impressed with him until very recently and certainly didn't think he deserved a starting spot ahead of Kent, Roofe or Morelos. But, no one would be very surprised if he starts our next match, he's made the most of the chances he's had. When you analyse our side you can see that Gerrard doesn't like changing the defence much, Balogun and Helander swap in and out but the rest rarely do. Our midfield tends to alternate much more but our forward line, when everyone is fit, tends to be Kent, Roofe and Morelos. As the side is winning and playing well it's difficult to criticise this. Itten will get a chance again soon and if he plays well and scores then I think he'll keep his spot. Of course injuries and suspensions will come into it soon too. Morelos will get goals again, I've no doubt about that, even off form a bit he's still a handful to defend against.6 points

I'm struggling to see what the fuss is about. I was actually disappointed to see Rangers players being so precious about a few hurty words but I suppose the desperation to be offended has become universal.4 points

If we can keep all our players after January , and if we play to the same standard in Europe that we have these last 2-3 seasons , we will be fine , our biggest problem will be over confidence , something I don’t see in this team or this management team this year .2 points

For what it's worth (probably not much) Antwerp are the lowest ranked team still in the competition (125th). https://www.footballseeding.com/uefa/club-ranking/2020-21/2 points

Having witnessed homophobic abuse at Ibrox and that it seemed to drive the recipient away from attending games, it's not something that should be dimissed as people being sensitive. There's no place for it.2 points

I love to try and defend Alfie, but today was just stupidity. He wont get a move like this. Might work to our advantage in the long run I think even if he had been ordered off today we still would have won that game, which says everything about this team2 points

When I was a snotty nosed, scabby kneed young Gaspard, Lucozade was sold in the apothecaries the bottled wrapped in orange cellophane and only to be purchased and administered in times of ailment, like TB, Cholera, Leprosy etc. Its great rival was Fergusade, similar livery but more yellowy than orange. Think it may have been deployed when the maladies were less severe, Hookworm, Pertussis and such like inconveniences.2 points

I’ll be quite happy if we focus entirely on domestic competition after New Year. Anything but what happened a year ago.1 point

Decent enough draw and if our form remains as it is, or dare I say improves, we should have sufficient to progress. However, February is a long way off (in footballing terms) and plenty just as, or more important games to play / focus on prior to these games. Starting on Wednesday.1 point

I said "at least as good as, if not better". It wasn't a definitive claim that we were better because that is impossible to say when the circumstances in each game are so different. The games Morelos didn't start in are, 2-0 Kilmarnock Home 2-0 Hamilton Away 2-0 Livingston Home 8-0 Hamilton Home 4-0 Falkirk Away 1-0 Poznan Home 2-0 Poznan Away 5-0 Lincoln Red Away There is no value in analysing that, it's impossible to prove. To my eye, we progress the ball on the deck better with Roofe, Itten and Defoe in the CF role because they are so comfortable taking the ball to feet and playing one touch football (Roofe in particular). Less attacks break down due to a poor touch or wayward pass etc. That's just the way I see it.1 point

The three you went to were within a relative stones throw of each other, Marseille would have been a lot warmer but significantly further away. Perhaps cheaper than getting married though. I was in Brugges back in the interrailing 80's and managed to score myself !!1 point

I'd been to the Lyngby, CSKA and Bruges games and my money had run out by the Marseille game as I was getting married later that year, so I didn't go. It was a hellish trip, in and out in the one day. Yeah, just one more goal in that game and we were through to the final, and I fancied our chances against that Milan side.1 point

Antwerp are going through a Celticesque run of form. 3 wins and 5 losses in their last 10 games.1 point

Antwerp sitting 7th on the same points as Standard Liege in the Jupiler League, so probably fair to assume they're of a similar level.1 point

Dunno about everyone else but it just doesn't taste the same to me as it used to. Maybe the partnership can put the 'zing' back. Mars bars are smaller..I could go on.1 point

It did but he had kept his temper under control for quite a few games prior to that so I was kind of justified in making the comment. A year or so ago it was virtually game after game he lost it despite management entreaties.1 point

I'm not sure about that. I don't think opinions have altered much, excepting a few knee-jerk reactions.1 point

Was funny when he suggested Alfie wasn't a team player. Michael has clearly not watched the way we (and the wee man) play this season.1 point

Rangers got it all together in this match though Glasgow City were a bit underwhelming, perhaps due to their midweek European match. The three players signed from Glasgow City have aded a bit of quality to the team. Strong performances from Lizzie Arnot and Sam Kerr and a goal coming from Girasoli, one of our defenders just like Tav/Goldson in the men's team. Overall, going full-time seems to have made a difference as we looked stronger and fitter than Glasgow City. The victory also means we have a double top; both our senior teams are top of their respective leagues.1 point
-
Quite a few of this squad have gone through a lean spell over this/last season and come back stronger so Alfie must be given chance to do same.1 point

Still played well today but really should have scored and needs to be careful with the moments of stupidity. Won't help him that when he is rested it is the easier games he misses. No question his scoring boots need found I would play him v st Mirren.1 point

Last nights game a penalty was retaken because the goalie was judged to be half an inch off his line , but the real scary thing I think is imagine it in the Scottish game a midweek match at Ibrox and wullie Collum in the box you might no get home to two in the morning ?1 point
