Some appalling defending and poor finishing means we drop points in a game we'd worked hard to get back into. Very, very frustrating and these are the tight games you have to win if you want to win titles.4 points

Right. I've never been entirely convinced about your dubious contributions so keep at the silly stuff and it will be all over for you on this forum.3 points

it's like some fans want us to have a bad result.....just to say I was right.3 points

I actually find SG comments about Porteous embarrassing. We shouldn't be lowering ourselves to that wee smug prick's level. Bitterly disappointed with that result today. You have to win games like that to win titles and we just don't have the bottle to win them2 points

Would have been better with those wee wooden cutouts in the background instead of that linesman2 points

Plus he had both hands on Helanders' shoulders holding him down. Should have been two red cards minimum, also the lunge on Kent from Boil went unpunished, but we didn't play well at all2 points

We pull this out we win the league...these are the types that make a champ...let them balls drop!2 points

“Hibs have been nasty, aggressive, in Rangers’ faces”, says Andy Walker at half time. Given Hanson’s fore arm smash into Hagi’s face and Drey Wright’s deliberate stamp on Kent’s standing foot; I am surprised the Ref’ did not book Morelos for scoring?2 points

I know we have covered the Tav thing in the past but again today his mistakes/crossing and most of all decision making were again poor. The mistake and crossing were obvious but the decision making shown in the last few minutes was when we had a free kick a few yards outside the box.The position was tailor made for a Borna attempt but what does our glorious captain do takes it and floats a beautiful cross straight to their keeper, definitively change needed IMO.1 point

I haven't seen any bad posts on here! I see a lot of posts saying we were poor today, myself included1 point

Yep, I did the positive post thing after the Livi game, you know, blaming the hellish surface and anti-football, and that it was only August... Today, I'm not in such a mood. To be honest, I was overly confident on getting a result today. I let myself be fooled by the clean sheet record and that we were still top of the league (although that slipped away just before kick-off) despite having never really found 3rd gear in any of our games to date. Now I see the reality, the one I chose not to sneak-a-peak at earlier, and I now realise that we are a long way off being title challengers. We don't have the metal to find that one goal that will show we can fight...and win when up against it. Since the first game, Aberdeen away (when maybe we were just not a rusty as they were), the two biggest challenges we've faced have been Livi and Hibs away, and we failed to take the 3 points from either. Don't get me wrong, there IS a long way to go. We play them in a few weeks, and a win there will set us up nicely for some deja vu and another chance to get excited about it being our year. And that'll give me some more hope until we fall at beechers again. I'll never learn.1 point

One thing I would say about their second goal is Katic would never get beaten the way Helander did. Just saying....1 point

I think that's a good point. A bit surprised at some of the post match reaction on here today. Glad I do not see some of the other forums if they are worse! For whats it's worth my reflections are: We did not lose, playing away to 3rd best form team at a notorious tricky venue in the past. Each of our victories so far have been against teams deploying a low block. Hibs bucked that trend by playing more openly and exploiting our left flank in particular. We did not look particularly comfortable in parts of the match as Hibs asked questions of us defensively. Our midfield lacked a more physical edge needed in a game like this. Jack was missed, and there is a need for another robust centre mid. The refereeing was again sub standard but we need to get used to that. It won't change. In summary, we've played better but we are still top. Ross gets some (reluctant) credit for making it an open game with chances and good saves at both ends. We grumble on here about teams spoiling games by their negative set up. Hibs were over physical at times, but they asked questions of us today. If they play the same way next weekend they will ask questions of Celtic as well. Remember, it's September.1 point

Some if the reaction , not so much on here , but the other two main forums , is absolutely mental . The Scottish league is notoriously difficult to win. , there are only two teams capable of doing it , and every single point dropped is treated like a death in the family by some , there is simply far too much football to be played yet and there will be players coming in and others leaving , let’s see where we are around Xmas , however the next 3 games are massive .1 point

Sorry mate, but if we have to hope for others to do us a favor this early in the season we may as we’ll forget it. The problem for us, has always been the inability to find the winner at the end, whilst they do just fine in that regard. If we cannot string more than 3 wins together we will never win the title.1 point

Raging at that performance - even given their 2nd goal was offside, their 2 centre-halfs could / should have been sent off and we had a goal chopped off at end (seen them given) we just weren't good enough today.1 point

What exactly was wrong with the Rangers goal right at the end ? And Boyle was offside when the initial ball was played thro’ b4 he crossed for Hibs 2nd1 point

Ok so we have blinked first , need to get reinforcements for midfield , Gerrard can’t be clearer in sharp he needs .1 point

They could cause problems too for Celtic and they also have to go to Aberdeen where we won.1 point

Very sloppy, felt it coming. That was down to Helander1 point

Thought we started well but as Hibs settled we didn't heed the warning from the superb McLaughlin save and conceded a very cheap goal, poor defending all round but especially from Barisic. We then reacted well for 5-10mins but really started to lose our way with our attacking players making all sorts of wrong decisions so it was a very nice surprise to grab an equaliser with a great finish from Morelos. What a talisman he remains to be!1 point

Ooft. Glad wee Buff stuck that in there. Not been a great half, but that gets us out the mess, out and press on second half hopefully.1 point

A lot of really poor defending so far in this new English season, which makes for an entertaining watch. Having seen both of Leeds games they are lovely to watch and if they can stop giving away stupid goals/penalties they should do fine. Arsenal have a lot going forward but still look weak defensively (I see the rhebel rhat was missing through injury again!) Man Utd the same as Arsenal, a lot of attacking intent but poor at the back. Neither side will be close to the top come May. Everton have played surprisingly well and could be this season’s overachievers. Looking forward to Chelsea v Liverpool tomorrow, hopefully still basking in the aftermath of a great victory for us at Hibs.1 point

Great preview, thanks. Have to say I am more confident now that Barker is out of the squad and Arfield is in.1 point

Lex Talionis is not the new Box-to-box midfielder, then. A splendidly Jacobean interpretation of the match. A word, or two, of warning: not only does the avenger often end up in a bloody mess, himself, but this kind of piece, in all likelihood, will fall foul of the present administration's proposed Hate Crime Legislation (truth, again, outdoing fiction).1 point
