  1. Over to Stevie and the players to ensure that we don’t lift any pressure from Lurgan Flopp’s shoulders come Saturday teatime.

  2. Just in case it needs to be underlined how big a fuck up this is by them (and I don't really think it does)... Scotland are the highest ranked country to no longer have representation in the 20/21 Champions League (and the only country in the top 21 to be out). Hungary are the lowest ranked country still to have a team in CL qualifying. https://www.football-coefficient.eu/

  3. PQ shut down football broadcasting last evening before 22.15hrs. Post match discussion, including everyone having their say, and interviewing both managers, lasted barely twenty-five minutes. The Scottish champions, carrying the Scottish standard into Europe's premier tournament have been papped out for the third year on the trot, in the qualifying rounds. Here's the thing, we will NOT see those goals again on the BBC, they will be confined to the file labeled, 'AEK,FC Cluj, and Ferencvaros'. Can any Gersnetter remember the AEK goals? I know someone will retrieve the goals from YouTube, the point is our national broadcaster will bury them. I remember seeing the Gothenberg goals that kncked us out a quarter of a century past, every weekend for a year. Lennon's interview with Kheredine was car crash material. It begins : Kheredine, "What went wrong, Celtic were the better side"? Neil : "awe come on, comfortably so, comfortably the better team". Lennon then paints a self preservation picture, "it's hard work and I'm fed up with it. There are players here who don't want to be here". Kheredine misses the opportunity to reveal identities of said players, but offers, "it's the Europa League, can you look forward to it"? Neil indulges in a bit of revisionism, "we'll have to, it is what it is. You know Kheredine, we work hard all year to get here, the graft in winning the title for what, gone in no time". Haud the bus, the hard yards were put in by Neil Doncaster, Rod the Fraud McKenzie, and Shifty McGifty. Finally, the entire Gang Hut laments Edouard's injury, they all question Lennon's decision to play Christie as the main front man. A couple of them even question the young Polish player, Klimala not being brought on to the pitch. No one, not one says, 'Leigh Griffiths'. Where is Leigh on the Hollicom provided scripts these days? Mental health, pray for Leigh, drug habits, debts to gangsters, overweight, ................................. etc. Scotland's best finisher, Clarke needs him for the Euro-qualifiers next week, he is not in Clarke's squad, he wasn't in Lennon's squad for last night, .............................. Leigh has been disappeared.

  4. I wonder how poor Peter is feeling this morning? Weeks and months of SPFL lying, deceit (bordering on corruption) allowing Celtic a free passage to their *9th title in a row and the CL monies, only for *brave Neil and his multi-million pound squad to fuck it up (again). What does Peter do now? Hire investigators to research the Hungarians contracts, legibility to play, Covid test history to see if he can get them thrown out? Think of the wage bill, the co-efficient and finally the poor old disco-lights. Fully expect a statement from Peter today claiming Celtic and the CL are a separate entity.

  6. Because the fact that we will have two teams next year is down entirely to Rangers. We must, simply must, win the league this year and show them how how it's done in europe.

  7. No. Rasellik is a "Champions' League Team". It is Scotland's "Champions League Team". It is geared for the Champions' League. It and the Champions' League are one, joined at the hip, inseparable. Think: -horse and carriage -cakes and ale -potatoes and potatoes -Rodgers and Hammerstein -Jagger and Richards -Lennon and...... Ah.....OK, I take your point.....

  8. It's amusing how Lennon says that it's his fault and to blame him and then he goes on to say that the second goal was a defensive error, the forwards were to blame more than the defence and that there are some that were playing who don't want to be at the club and should leave. Way to take responsibility, ya smelly, bigoted rat!

  9. Olympique Marseille have big financial problems & were very fortunate to be allowed into this season’s CL groups stages after finishing second in ligue1. I’d suspect they wouldn’t be allowed to buy Morelos from us as they fell foul of FFP. And I’d be surprised if we’d entertain a loan

  10. Depends I guess - if it is a loan with an obligation to buy and the total number is of a suitably high value then we could be reasonable to deal with.

  11. der Berliner, Your referenced Wiki page proves my point. 2018/19 season : ra Sellik lost 3-2 to AEK Athens in the third qualifying round. 2019/20 season : ra Sellik lost 5-4 to FC Cluj in the third qualifying round. 2020/21 season : ra Sellik lost 2-1 to Ferencvaros in the second qualifying round. Three defeats in three years in the qualifying rounds.

  13. Not when the players can hear Lennon's every shout, scream and imprecation.

  14. It is. It’s an advantage to sleep and train where you always do and play on your own park. Travelling is always a disadvantage. Albeit the crowd is the biggest advantage.

  16. And the winner of the signed jersey is a William Aird who has been notified. Congratulations William! An incredible £640 was raised via the raffle, every penny of which will go to the Restoration of Rangers Graves project. Thank you so much to everyone who participated. YOU are the people ?

  18. While one can understand OM's sentiments (same with us and Kent or Hagi), I doubt that we will let him go on-loan ...

  19. I would echo that. 26th's comments on PQ's post match analysis reflect all the ills of a so called national broadcaster. I only listened from the final whistle, but I revelled in their collective pain and woes. Lurgen's interview was an absolute scattergun of excuses and diversion tactics. He has none of the steel or integrity of Gerrard in that respect. Tom Oirish whined loudly about their last 3 CL exits being a far cry from the "glory" ? of winning away to Lazio. Interestingly his meanderings are regurgitated verbatim in a PQ article on line today "Celtic need to stop kidding themselves" Pat Bonner lamented their defending and how he didn't enjoy watching their CL matches! "Celtic's level is the Europa League!" Really Pat? Remind us how much has been spent on building that EL squad then? All that remains is for the last PQ stalwart to add his thoughts. Step forward the red headed, sannie wearing nationalist. Where are you in the club's hour of need? ?

  22. I don't think letting in anything less that 50% capacity is worthwhile. Mr Syntax often likes to confuse other posters, usually with astute (to him)/obtuse (to them) questions.

  27. Much as we like to focus on ourselves, this is one result we can’t ignore every season. Champions League group money pretty much guarantees dominance domestically. Three seasons in a row they have messed this up now and they’ve given us a real chance of levelling things up. We have a shot at the Champions League ourselves next season too, and whatever anyone says about Gerrard his specialty is Europe. I’ve said for some time that the one way to truly overtake Celtic is to make the Champions League group stage or to make huge player sales. Finance is everything unfortunately.

  28. Ah well there’s justice for ye....... Getting awarded a title they never won to get into the CLQ’s. Maybe there is someone up there after all. ?

  29. Tom English is beelin', describing ra Sellik's elimination from the CL in the qualifying rounds for the third time in three years, "ah mean, AEK Athens, then Cluj, tonight it's Ferencvaros; it's so unnecessary, so avoidable, awchh". His description of the second goal by Ferencvaros is even better, "it's a big hoof, a BIG hoof, it goes a mile, el Hamed falls over, and a poke, well maybe more than a poke past the keeper". Pat is most descriptive, "it's a shocking goal, shocking, really shocking". James McFadden declares, "Sellik were the better side, some of the chances they missed, and I've just seen Ryan Christie's goal, he was on side". Big Dick reminded him it was Elyounoussi who was flagged offside. Faddy stutters, was it, was it"? Poor Kheredine, we are waiting for him to interview the Lurgan Bigot.
