  1. To get things slightly back on topic I notice the management and players of both sides 'took a knee' prior to both the Lyon and Nice matches. As far as I can tell cultural Marxism hasn't managed a full coup on Edmiston Drive quite yet, but no doubt it's only a matter of time now. The defunding of the police on the other hand is well underway. Funding is down over 16% in the last decade. Those arch-Marxists David Cameron, Teresa May and Boris Johnston need watched I tell you, soon you won't even be able to say you're English anymore. For what it's worth, as is their democratic right, quite a number of people on social media, who certainly seem to be Rangers supporters at first glance, posted their disagreement with the club's official Twitter and Instagram accounts posting pictures and accompanying hashtag. It's worth noting though that the post on Instagram attracted 29,860 'Likes' and on Twitter over 7,500, the highest of any posts from the club during the tournament, including goals and interviews with players. Maurice Edu, our former player and an African American, felt moved to comment on the club's original post and then replied to some of those criticising the club or taking issue with the 'black lives matter' message. Conor Goldson has also felt the need to address some of the posts and comments left by supporters on this subject from his personal account. Both are worth reading. As I said earlier in this thread if this is important to a number of our players I've no problem with our club supporting it. It doesn't threaten my identity or my understanding on how a democratic society should function. Being serious for a moment I was saddened to read Forlan's Sisters post about his recent health. Sepsis is a horrible and very dangerous condition and I hope you are feeling better now and receiving the correct treatment. Clearly Gaffer and FS have experienced challenges during the last few months and I know they aren't alone. I hope we are all able to enjoy better times very soon.

  2. This wonderful article and photograph is from the Rangers Supporters Association Annual 1958....more about how you can purchase this gem and a few others and assist the Restoration of Rangers Graves Project soon.

  3. And that is exactly why our season was scrapped. Just in case they "did a Barca" and blew their lead, it was safer to claim the title off the park than to play the games on it. I am still in absolutely no doubt that if we were 20 points clear with 7 games to go the season would have been scrapped null and void, and if we had a very small lead the season would have resumed. Essentially the outcome of the SPFL season for all 42 clubs was solely determined to what was in the interests of only one club.

  4. Lazio may be a temptation for Morelos, and if they offered £20 million I expect the club would take it in the current environment. But I always suspected England was the preference of Morelos. But even if that were the case if it were me no way I would turn down Lazio and the CL for a mid or lower end premiership side. If he could go there and prove himself in the CL the upper echelons in England would then be convinced. And he's still young enough to do all that.

  5. Who has been “abusing” Connor Goldson? Was it a Rangers fan? If so what are the police doing about it? What has it got to do with decent Rangers fans? Rangers is a football club, not a racism campaign. Why are some fans trying to make this Rangers’ business? Whose agenda are they pushing?

  6. I'm one of the few Rangers supporters who would prefer Remembrance Day was kept out of football, unless a match is actually played on 11th November. I'm the same with this. Does anyone think a racist football fan is going to change their views because players have taken the knee? If anything, I suspect it will further entrench their position. For eternity then.

  7. Club policy shouldn't be decided upon by the players. I find that a bit disturbing that organisations can be forced into organisations which could be described as extremist, albeit with some reasonable policies. I disagree, and I'm not sure why some people refuse to engage in discussions as to the nature of BLM.

  8. When you have to constantly explain that the gesture means one thing and isn't in support of other issues then perhaps there's an issue with the gesture. F1 uses a "End racism" message and the drivers wear a black t-shirt that uses the same phrase. Simple, effective and not in support of BLM.

  9. It will go on for as long as the players want it to. I support the players if this is what they want to do. If anybody has a problem with Black Lives Matter then please leave Rangers out of it.

  10. I've seen Goldson's comments that it's "about equality, not politics" but he's making a gesture that supports a political movement. He claims that there's ignorance but perhaps it's him that's being ignorant of (some of) the concerns (although not denying that there are other reasons for some people's opposition to it). and what many think the gesture means. I'd guess that peer pressure/social media have forced some players into following the herd, and that's not very "democratic". I understand Goldson's reasons for doing it but perhaps he should make a greater effort to understand the views of those who are against the BLM organisation. Likewise, do the club have a realistic option not to support BLM? I've got no idea what the board think about it, but they don't have an option but to support it, and I'm uncomfortable with that and again it's no really how a "democratic society" should function. It was interesting to see the F1 drivers wearing anti-racism t-shirts but only Hamilton wore a BLM one and most appeared not to take the knee.

  11. So Covid-19 isn't a virus and people aren't dying from it as it's a hoax?

  12. Not just Kai Kennedy.... I was told something two weeks ago about an incident - nothing major - that showed the ego and lack of gratitude of some of our youths.

  13. Probably both which is correct path to take.We have many youths in our Auchenhowie set up who are likely to be more than proud to be there without shouting to the world "look at me I'm a Rangers player".

  14. I am on this forum and FF and enjoy most of the banter but do no media platforms like facebook/twitter etc.where it seems easy to incite rebellion towards anything or get away with slanderous/libelous actions without fear of litigation. With the current BLM crusade it seems to me that prominent figures are trying to push/promote their ideals and possibly have the right to do so,but personally I am sick to the teeth of having these "ideals" rammed down my throat at every opportunity. Like the majority on here I have watched "the kneel" being shown at every live event and on highlights of the same.If their message has not been conveyed by now it never will so let's get back to what we want most is seeing any sport that we love to watch without the political undertones.

  18. I've listened to him and respectfully disagree with his views that there's no political element. It's like listening to Lewis Hamilton. He's suffered from racism in the past and I respect his rights to stand up against it, but it doesn't mean that I agree with him that an example of racism is that only 4% of children's books have main character who is black, when black people make up 3% of the population. I totally agree that he shouldn't receive abuse. However there's no reason why a rational discussion can't place on it.

  20. No, it's simply someone who's sick to death of an incessant, one-sided commentary on racism being pushed down his throat when it has no bearing whatsoever on his life.

  21. I don't think that's certain at all but the thread has resulted in a debate, where the comments have mainly been reasonable, so the intention you perceive has been unsuccessful. Debate should always be openly encouraged.

  22. There's no doubt @forlanssister has had a very challenging time recently, that said he still hasen't missed a game. Now I really don't consider myself an enthusiastic conspiracy theorist, but his health and the seeming unrelated global pandemic seems to have synchronised very conveniently. Despite his regular posts on here blaming the Chinese for everything covidian, I'm seriously beginning to wonder if the evil genius behind lockdown maybe a lot closer to home.

  23. The biggest problem is not with BLM but with the groups that have latched on to them. Folk are getting abused about the colour of their skin....but so are people who are fat or have ginger hair or for their religious beliefs or the team they support or their looks. Is this country folk are abused almost every day of their lives for one thing or another so i guess what i'm getting at is using someones skin colour to get at them is just another form of bullying.

  24. So all the songs referring to us as Glasgow Rangers need scrapped and / or rewritten? ?

  25. I think you will be right. The point is, I go to a match or an event to watch or listen to the performance. The political views of the performers are none of my business. Also what right does a performer or player have to give me a lecture? Or is it ok to assume I am ignorant and prejudiced?

  26. How long is the pre match kneeling going to go on for? Demonstrations of this sort are not necessary at sporting occasions or anywhere else. When theatres are open again will the cast appear on stage before curtain-up and kneel? Likewise musicians at concerts (real ones, not guitar whackers)?

  27. CG has repeatedly stated his support is for equality only. Can't see why he is getting grief for this from our fans. As for reporting it to the Police, maybe once you've reported 3 or 4 incidents and the abuse continues, you look for other option? That is not a criticism of the Police by the way. I have family members who receive racist abuse due to skin colour, I have workmates who receive abuse due to their religion. Maybe BLM isn't the answer, but there is a REAL problem that needs urgently addresses and fixed.

  28. Racist acts and abuse are illegal, so a victim has the option to report an incident to the Police. I agree but some of the criticisms relate to the BLM movement itself, rather than anti-racism. BLM has an agenda which includes Israel/Palestine, the nuclear family, police funding and various other things which aren't directly linked to race issues.

  32. Comparisons? PQ continues to attempt to broadcast careful hatred. Ryan Kent's red card in a Lyon friendly has Cosgrove frothing. To be precise, the fact the French FA appear not to be reporting the fact to the SFA, has DrStu' making ridiculous comparisons. After admitting he had not seen the incident, he compared Kent's lack of Scottish suspension with Manchester City's successful appeal overturning their ban from Euro competition under Fair Play regulations. DrStu' wondered aloud at the padded envelope required to effect such a decision? Rangers travel from being super skint to being able to stuff wedges of cash into big bubble padded envelopes. Being the bad guys of football is our place; well, apart from when we are standing on the sidelines raging and beelin'. DrStu' ruminating on errors made in dealing with the Covid pandemic stated, "the Rangers against Leverkusen game was a mistake". A plague on our house. Often in PQ, it's the stuff they don't talk about is where the hypocrisy lives. They have Professor Jason Leitch on for 40 minutes again today, in hindsight, why don't they ask him about the Edinburgh hosted Nike conference in the third week of February? Was that a mistake? Awkward questions are like awkward folks, should be confined to care homes. I wonder how many still surviving in Scottish care homes will be joining Cosgrove in sending the First Minister, Nicola Sturgeon a fiftieth birthday gift? DrStu' announced he would be sending Nicola an Off the Ball mug. Big Dick allows his mask to slip by stating, "the fans having paid their season tickets, will demand more biased commentary". This relates to his beloved RED TV having hired Rob MacLean to bring his particularly biased musings to the Dandy Dons hordes. As stated, the hypocrisy lies in what is not said, where's Mikey? What fans TV station is Michael Stewart bringing biased commentary to?

  34. Can Mikey have two masters? Sellik TV's latest signing, Michael Stewart made his debut last night, Nice were lucky to get a draw. Ajer is worth £50 million, but would be better staying at ra Sellik and French Eddie was onside, even when he is flagged offside. Oh, and Klimala is ready to step up. Do you think PQ will present him with a different script on Sportsound/Sportscene? PQ's headline on last night's events : 'Rangers face Ryan Kent ban blow and Celtic's Patryk Klimala tipped to shine'. A negative and a positive is understandable, there is a considerable conflict of self interest at PQ. Those lovable Dandies entertain the Yahoos singing, 'we hate Rangers more than you' and the Yahoos applaud them for it. Yep, the Dandies want Kent banned for the Pittodrie opener and I suspect the Referee will be under pressure to report the incident, the Compliance Officer awaits. This morning's BBC Radio Scotland sportsdesk interviewed the Daily Record's Michael Gannon on last night's events in France. Michael knew his lines, continuing his paper's commercial relationship with ra Sellik, was most positive about ra green'n'grey hooped horrors. Ra Sellik, Nice, and Lyon all mentioned, we were NOT named; however, we did feature twice, "in the other game". When asked specifically about Kent, Gannon recalled Sellik's Sumo' being red carded in last season's pre-season match against St Gallen and being suspended for the league opener. We await the Mikey verdict, will it be ra Sellik TV verdict or the BBC Scotland verdict. Is there a difference?

  35. An example of Independent SAGE's work. They've written to the CMO on this, asking for the government to change its approach. Aside from disagreeing with the government's approach, I don't see any partisan nature of this work on first reading. Can anyone who disagrees with what Independent SAGE are recommending outline why, and what they would do differently? @forlanssister
