  1. Perhaps the message to the doom merchants is to wait until there actually is a shortage before complaining about a shortage

  2. Below is a link to Lord Clark's 15.5 page "Note in summary form". It is well worth a read. https://www.scotcourts.gov.uk/docs/default-source/cos-general-docs/pdf-docs-for-opinions/2020csoh68.pdf?sfvrsn=0

  3. I haven't read the majority of this thread, so I don't exactly know what is being said here, but in respect of your question the answer is a resounding No! What has happened is that Lord Clark has commissioned an 'arbitration tribunal' subjected to Scottish Arbitration Rules which all parties, Hearts, PT, SPFL and SFA have to agree upon. Excluded are DU, CR and Raith as their petition in that regard wasn't upheld. The SPFL argued a number of points one such point (SFA 99.15) which suggest SFA permission is needed to raise a court action else financial penalties of up to £1m and or expulsion, 'put oot the gemme' in Lord Clarks eyes needed to be fully tested and therefore he declined to comment on it at this time. They also argued that it was a purely a 'football matter' and that the SFA/SPFL should conduct this arbitration to which Lord Clark completely disagreed stating it was clearly a case of company law. So essentially SPFL/SFA pushed for the closed shop you site in your post however Lord Clark did not agree with this proposition at all.

  4. Seems fair enough to me. Shove a metre and a half of fibre optic up the collective jacksies of Neil, Rod the Fraud, and Shifty McGifty sans lubrication. Lord Clark has called for full and proper disclosure of documents to the tribunal. In this regard, it will allow all to decide whether John Nelms is a big sh1t, or an even bigger sh1t than we first thought. Of course, it goes without saying that Peter's rectum remains a legitimate place of worship; and as such, no bright lights will be shone, only the noses of the usual suspects are required.

  5. SFA to set up panel to hear Hearts/Thistle case. Panel to be overseen by independent Judge. SPFL motion to dismiss rejected. Judge rules that all documentation (emails, texts, chats, telephone calls) all made available to panel/investigation. Hearts / Thistle still have option to go back to court if not satisfied with outcome of SFA investigation.

  7. What, you mean they're going to manufacture more strips during the month of July!? What kind of sorcery is this? ?

  8. I really hope the club and the fans actually give him a chance. On paper it is an ideal move but loan moves often don’t work out because the club and fans default to their own players whenever they hit a roadbump. I like Hastie, he definitely has an ability to score goals that is rare. Being good enough for Rangers is another question unfortunately. Middleton is similar.

  9. I think you need to calm down and have a deep breath before continuing to rant away, TB. More kits will be manufactured before they're physically available.

  10. It doesn't do these players any harm to go out and get game time with other clubs , Septic have utilized this at great benefit to them , it strengthens other teams against opposition and weakens teams against them .

  11. I have no idea, but I think that I can say, with some confidence, that someone, smoewhere -not Lancs- is at the Madam. Check this from today's Times: League chief Rick Parry’s gaffe over Wigan Athletic EFL chairman discusses bet rumour with fan Matt Lawton, Chief Sports Correspondent Friday July 03 2020, 12.01am, The Times https://www.thetimes.co.uk/edition/sport/league-chief-rick-parrys-gaffe-over-wigan-athletic-6sm2fptgc?utm_source=newsletter&utm_campaign=newsletter_111&utm_medium=email&utm_content=111_9841707&CMP=TNLEmail_118918_9841707_111 The comments could be a source of serious embarrassment for Parry Rick Parry has been involved in an astonishing conversation with a Wigan Athletic fan during which the chairman of the English Football League said there was a rumour that the club’s administration was linked to “a bet in the Philippines on them being relegated”. Four weeks ago Wigan were sold from one Hong Kong-based company to another, both of which were until recently majority-owned by the same businessman and a high-stakes professional poker player, Dr Choi Chiu Fai Stanley. Au Yeung Wai Kay, a Chinese businessman, has since replaced Dr Choi as the majority shareholder of Next Leader Fund, which purchased the club from International Entertainment Corporation (IEC), a Hong Kong-based, Cayman Islands-registered company, on June 2. But news has emerged this week that the Sky Bet Championship club is now facing a 12-point deduction after being put into administration because the owners are now refusing to invest any more money. That prompted a supporter, who claims to live in Parry’s road in a village in Cheshire, to seek an explanation from the EFL chairman. The fan, who asked not to be named, told The Times last night that he managed to catch Parry as he returned home in his car. In a video that was posted last night on Twitter, which shows only his feet, Parry says: “There are all sorts of rumours. There’s rumours that there is a bet in the Philippines on them being relegated because the previous owner has got gambling interests in the Philippines.” The comments could be a source of serious embarrassment for Parry, 65, a former Premier League and Liverpool chief executive who became chairman of the EFL last year, raising questions about how wise he was to have such a sensitive conversation with a fan on the street. The EFL confirmed last night that Parry had engaged with a fan but was unaware he was being filmed outside his home. A statement from the EFL said: “The EFL is aware of a video of its chairman posted on social media this evening that discusses recent developments at Wigan Athletic. “It was part of a much wider and impromptu discussion he was having with a Wigan supporter he does not know but who lives in the same area. “The private conversation focused around the events of the last 24-48 hours, how the EFL can assist and what happens next. The various rumours and reports that have been circulating throughout today were also discussed. “Whilst the chairman was unaware he was being filmed, he was happy to engage in the debate and appreciates this is a concerning and challenging time for all those associated with the club.”

  12. If we have managed to sell out the initial stock with 24 hours, even though it won’t be available for a month, and it doesn’t go live in the shops until August, then Castore have seriously underestimated the job in hand, which just goes to show their inexperience in this market. Why not have 250,000 units available? They have a month to sell them using this online portal, which is more profitable for both Castore and our club than selling through third party retailers so this should have been well in hand. Looks completely amateurish to me. For all the bluster about knowing our history and how big a support we have worldwide, why on earth did they limit themselves to 50K units to last a month? Am I missing something here? I see nothing but praise for Castore but as far as I can see they have just completely messed this opportunity up and it will cost the club a huge amount of money.

  13. Seriously, we are in bed with Messrs Castore, and we have to cut them some slack. The current pandemic and associated lockdowns, and slowdowns, has played havoc, not just with manufacturing, but with all aspects of logistics and distribution. If we add in the fact that Castore is a relatively new and rather small company, ito market share, then we should realise that any difficulties deriving from the Covid 19 may impact even more significantly upon it, than upon the commercial behemoths of sports clothing.

  14. Well, the walks are cancelled, so the manufactories can go at it full tilt.

  15. It takes a strange and perverse logic to criticise Castore for not supplying a product that we already know has a planned release date a month down the line? The pre-sale volume of 50,000 shirts has nothing to do with availability. It is a notional quantity that can be pre-ordered, nothing more. No one has been or will be left empty handed. Where the hell does this level of negativity come from? Are some of us so damaged by previous disappointments that we can no longer see straight. I'd think it was time to pack it all in if it had that sort of effect on me.

  16. As I see it, unless the arbitration panel comes to a unanimous agreement then it goes back to court.

  17. I don't get what your issue is with this. Shirts go on general public sale on August 1st in our revamped store which opens on the same day . It will also be available in other high street retailers. We had a pre sale with 50,000 units. It's drums up even more interest. Gives some folk a bit of breathing room after paying for a season book. Yes it's some sort of marketing pish - and it's marketing that's gonna make us millions. The board and castore are not underestimating the fan base or the demand. The cash is coming just be patient.

  18. SPFL have publicly declared they are skint. A financial incentive at this stage is almost an admittion of guilt. League Reconstruction has been voted on and kicked out. SPFL are backed into a corner here and with the judge forcing them to make all documents available against their will and wishes tells it's own story ?

  19. Doubt that. Would cost millions and clubs would have to write checks

  20. Today’s Judge has smelled a rat but reckons he’s not licensed (yet) to exterminate it so he’s passed the rodent on to a panel with a rat-catcher to supervise it. And he’s authorised Thistle and Hearts to get hold of a set of traps. Not too bad.

  22. I think an empty stadium has the same effect on both sides not just the home one. Most time during a match a pro player only ever hears a din so basically what i'm saying is that home advantage has probably more to do with familiar surroundings than much else.

  23. Sorry, a pre-sale? They are either on sale or they are not. WTF is a pre-sale? Some marketing pish by the sounds of it! I assume Castore were taking money off bears as part of this "pre-sale"? Which then means it was actually "on sale", just with a 31 day delivery time. So when they dont/cant issue the tops for a month, why restrict themselves to 50K is what I wanted to know? Why not just have an unlimited "pre-sale". If it is because they have only managed to produce 50K, then they deserve some criticism for being so small-minded, surely? It's not that difficult to see 50K was never going to satisfy our demand. We have sold over 40,000 season tickets at about £500 a go for games that we wont be able to attend. With that lunacy, (sorry I mean loyalty!) then a new top that is not controlled by Ashley was always going to be of huge interest to Rangers fans across the globe.

  24. I hope Hastie comes back, from what I seen of him at Motherwell he was decent, strong powerful, an eye for goal. I think the problem last year was probably Gerrard wanting Kent in the door and Allen having to find players as back up for the wide areas so we ended up with Stewart, Hastie, and Jones, all free and maybe not up to the standard we would have hoped, with guys like Jones and Hastie we would have hoped they would have made the next step in their development, looks like maybe Hastie wasn't ready for that and going back to Motherwell where he performed well to get his development back on track, he might never be good enough but at least there he has the chance of hurting teams like Aberdeen and Celtic and we have a recall clause if he is performing well.

  25. Hastie was - IMHO - signed because he was real raw talent and we wanted to take him on rather than seeing him go to England and then costing millions. I doubt he was signed as a first team starter anyways ... and for some reason, we seem to have a dislike for real wingers to. Hope that changes soonish.

  26. It does seem unnecessarily harsh to be criticising Castore on the second day of presale in the middle of a global pandemic. I’m actually quite impressed they’ve achieved what they have and suggest it confirms the good decision made when Castore was chosen as a partner.

  27. Aye. The strip went on preorder sale on 1st July. The strip won't actually be physically released until 1st August. In short, you've missed the month of July (which is a bit odd for a Bear).
