Db I was worried about Rangers not speaking out but they have played a blinder and shouldn't be seen as pushing this legal debate we know how the media would love to push that narrative. Rangers put forward a proposal that would benefit the whole game, they provided all the member clubs with a dossier of information and liabilities etc. and now all these diddies are falling to pieces. Hell mend them11 points

Great blog from 4lads today https://fourladshadadream.blog/2020/06/17/scottish-football-facing-financial-liabilities-cant-say-you-werent-warned/5 points

Yes but my blogs aren’t about them in any way It alludes to the fact and says basically we all know what has went on But if I write a blog that says it was all for them etc then it could borderline on looking mental and that lot would have a field day with personal criticism So subtle is key and has always been my style3 points

I think we need to get real. There is no danger we could afford Ryan Fraser on so many levels3 points

They are superiors of the SFA, not the SPFL, IIRC. In any case, the whole scenario would have to be put to them in a civilized and legally sound manner. If anything, they might say that unless anything is been cleared up, the Scottish national team and membership clubs will not take part in any UEFA event next season. That would set fire amongst the p(h)igeons. IMHO, it is right that Rangers are not forerunners in this legal debate regarding the ending of the season, as we would be (and already have been) labelled as self-interested with regards to winning the title but not caring about the rest of the game - obviously not true, but we know the script. So it is important that those who now challenge the SPFL do it - obviously out of self-interest too. But that is their right and theirs greater than ours anyway. What needs to be done is a total removement of the cabal that effectively ruined the game in Scotland for years now and ruined the end of last season too.3 points

And unless I am mistaken, the SKy, BT and BBC claims were not mentioned ahead of any voting to end the season. That is corporate mismanagement of the highest degree. How clubs did not vote for an independent inquiry is utterly beyond me.3 points

All of which could, and should, have been avoided. Not only because they could have finished the season but also, from a Celtic perspective, they would have been almost certain to win the league anyway3 points

The premier league returns tonight , playing behind closed doors that makes it unwatchable, football without fans means nothing . Aston Villa 1 Sheffield United 1 Manchester city 2 Arsenal 0 .2 points

Lol I like it! I don’t think there’s anything wrong with you pointing out the blatantly obvious but I understand why you’ve written it the way you have. Can you imagine similar restraint from a dark side blogger? Hell, they have former captains coming out saying there is a conspiracy against them, the team who have engineered to be awarded 8.5 consecutive titles and several cups!1 point

Should they win those optimistic figures, it's the members who would be liable, which includes Rangers of course. Something to bear in mind .1 point

The SPFL don’t have anything like that amount of money. If Hearts & Partick Thistle are successful in court then the SPFL is finished. The SFA would need to take over the running of the leagues and reinstate both hearts & thistle in the premiership & championship.1 point

Might depend in some scenarios. For example transfermarkt values Fraser at around £15 million while according to this link he's on around 27K per week at Bournemouth. AFC Bournemouth 2019-20 Payroll So let's say Rangers were to sign him on a 4 year contract and almost triple his wages to 75K per week. With a view to selling him after 2 years with Euro experience thrown in for £15 million. The two years wages would cost around £8 million but if everything came to pass in the way I envisaged it's a profit of £7 million.1 point

Absolutely no way we would be able to afford him even on a free, he has been touted at clubs like Liverpool, Man U and Arsenal. Most likely scenario I could see is Arsenal cutting their losses with crispy hips and making Frasier a LWB1 point

I see Ryan Fraser has rejected a short term deal at Bournemouth. He has been playing at a fairly high level for a good few years now, still only 26 and in his 'prime' years. Do you think we would be interested in him and would he upgrade our current squad?1 point

I enjoyed reading that and agreed with almost all of it. I cant say I agree that it was rejected because it was Rangers who brought it forward. It was, IMO, rejected because it wasnt what celtic wanted. I doubt it would have been given any further discussion or credibility if it was Aberdeen that were saying it. This is, was, and always will be, about getting celtic any and every possible advantage they can get, and to hell with the rest of football if they are badly affected by it.1 point

Rangers can always raise an action in court to have Doncaster removed over this shambles after hearts win. They will have plenty of backing for it.1 point

Is this based on real experience? The last 3 EPL I've attended (Anfield, St.James Park, Selhurst Park) had a brilliant atmosphere1 point

As Gonzo says, the issue with this, and MSM, is that the apology is buried and is never given even close to the same exposure as the original offensive, inaccurate lies. What SHOULD happen in this instance is that NUS Scotland should replace him as the President-elect for his blatant lying. Won't happen but there should be consequences to such inflammatory lies.1 point

Now you know why all other leagues throughout Europe had to restart. Neil was only obeying peter’s orders. And very costly orders too.1 point

Unfortunately, apologies are usually printed on page 10. We need to weed these toe rags out as soon as they appear, which is largely impossible due to them resembling an infestation.1 point
