It's also worth noting that the deadline is the 30th of June so a good bit of time to see what's happening with regard to the pandemic and what's happening with this and next season's games.3 points

But how does the club distinguish between those who are having genuine financial difficulties and those who just want some money off? I'd like a big yacht and a six bedroom villa in Provence but I'm having genuine difficulties affording it - so I won't be buying. It's always tough times for someone.2 points

The current situation suits neither club nor fans but it is what it is and the choice is very simple .... renew or don't. But spare us the bleating about it being unfair. No one is forced to renew and everyone knows exactly why the situation is as it is. The debate about the content of Gerrard's letter is fairly pointless, do we expect the club not to promote ST sales. I mean, come on. The club has no choice but to put season tickets up for sale. I will be buying and I suspect the majority of fans will do so too. Those who don't will not be bad supporters, they just won't have a ST and the club won't have their money. They can go to the back of the queue and buy next time an opportunity comes up. This isn't like buying a pair of shoes, I view the ST purchase as my annual cost of supporting Rangers but I don't expect anyone to guarantee results or quality of football. Nor do I expect to attend every game. Last season, for a variety of reasons, I only attended less than half the home games but that was my choice. If the club plays no games at all next season that I can attend then so be it, it won't be because the club wants it that way.2 points

This is a difficult position for fans. We suspect our season tickets will not be able to be used this season but if we don't sign up the club will almost not certainly go under (or at least be in serious financial trouble). I'll be taking mine but I can completely understand those who don't. Until they drop this nonsense about a vaccine I just don't see fans being back for a long time, possibly 18 months. By that stage it's too late.2 points

That pisses me off. Taking a wage deferral and making out that it's showing some level of loyalty to the club. Yes, it's good in that it defers season ticket renewals, but they're ultimately not going to be out of pocket, so there's no sacrifice and therefore very little loyalty, so please don't crow about it, Mr Gerrard.2 points

Interesting bit buried at the very bottom of the Record article ; It’s understood several clubs have contacted the Ibrox outfit in recent days to express their anger and disillusionment at the conduct of the SPFL in recent days, ahead of an EGM on May 12.1 point

Yeah mate I sit in SJ rear and I have had one. Seen people saying that they haven't had one. The deadline is June sometime so plenty time1 point

I have renewed our three in full today I’m prepared to support club even though I realise it’s most likely a donation. This isn’t for staunch points, far from it, with a young family I only go to home games so I save for this so it’s a natural thing I’m not sure about Membership scheme though - haven’t looked properly at costs etc1 point

I may be naïve but we are talking fans here. We have no hesitation in renewing with the knowledge that we may never see a ball kicked. Others will have lost their jobs or their partners due to this and will be financially impacted to the point where they are desperate to renew but financially can't. It's not about yachts, it is about hard choices like feeding your family or paying for a ticket that you may never be able to use.1 point

You know that's not a daft idea. I think if you've held a season ticket fora minimum of (say) 20 seasons then the club could do worse than make some seats available so that ancient codgers like you could attend up to a maximum of maybe 4 games a season. Say 50 seats and 20 games = 250 ancient codgers rewarded. ?1 point

I'd have hoped that the club would be publicly trying to get the players to take pay cuts, rather than just asking us to fork out to pay their wages. They seem to be taking the easy option by not doing that. C1872's Q&A on season tickets will certainly be interesting, and hopefully they'll ask the right questions.1 point

Agree as I said in earlier post no price is mentioned and to me is just a scheme to get more money from ST holders although it seems you don't have to be one,confusing!!!1 point

With so many people losing their lives, their loved ones, their livelihoods, their jobs etc, and with the continued uncertainty of the virus and on-going measures, puts both the club and the fans in a hugely difficult position when it comes to renewing season tickets. I can totally understand any fan who for whatever reason decides they can't renew at this time and hope the club are sympathetic to these fans as I feel they shouldn't automatically lose their ticket for good if they can't renew this season due to circumstances completely out with their control. As for the members scheme, the less said about that the better in my humble opinion1 point

Had a look. Just dont quite understand the membership stuff too. Seems a bit of a flag. I mean will I not still get priority tickets being a season ticket holder. Cheeky to say there is a price freeze but you lost 5 games or so last year and now you need be a member to get the same benefits I got as a season ticket holder? Or am I reading it wrong?1 point

Great! Another chance to buy a season ticket at Ibrox! I would have quite liked to see a price increase but I can't have everything.1 point

You actually think those were Gerrard's words as opposed to Club generated soundbites ?1 point

I'm finding it difficult to justify renewing for something that may not happen.1 point

Isn't it utterly bizarre that so many clubs are saying they won't support the inquiry before they've seen what Rangers has to evidence the need for it? I'd have thought there was enough already to warrant an investigation so I am even more suspicious when I read this. In the case of Celtic, I wouldn't care how much I hated another company or club, I'd support an inquiry if corruption was evident. If I didn't I'm risking prison. The other SPFL board members are doing everything they can to end up with a criminal conviction. Any organisation must investigate whistleblowing, so if Rangers do provide additional evidence it must be considered. They have no choice!!! If they choose to ignore it, I'll be calling the police myself. If any other commercial organisation in the world was seen to be encouraging stakeholders to turn a blind eye to evidence they would be up on charges right away. And let's be clear that the charges wouldn't be for the corruption, it would be for the culture of the board. I work in a highly regulated business and I'd have received a fine and probably a prison sentence by now if I'd have said or done the things this SPFL board has. The SFA is supposed to hold that role in Scotland so where are they? We know the answer to that and that's why I hope this goes the whole way to court. There will be many people who will find out the hard way just what their responsibilities were, and ignorance is no defence.1 point
