I’m sorry but why the fuck are footballers treated any differently to any other man or woman , their contracts are exactly the same in principle , these people earn more in a week than some guys earn yearly , yet we some how feel sympathy for them or give them a bye . In situations such as the one we are going through they should be leading from the front , if things go badly across Europe , many will simply have their contracts ripped up as lucrative Tv deals are cancelled and clubs go to the wall. This is situation is not going to end anytime soon .Even when the infection rate slows , public gatherings will be slowly introduced and monitored, the idea that 50, 000 people can make their way to a single destination and interact with god know how many people is just ridiculous . UEFA have shown themselves up to be way behind the 8 ball on this one .3 points

"Please renew your season tickets while we continue to fully pay our highly paid players and make no efforts to reduce costs." I've not been following social media much recently but there's a rumour that the club are issuing the season ticket renewals next week, and if so then the above seems to be what they are saying. The fans are losing their jobs or their livelihoods, being put on reduced hours, taking pay cuts, being put on furlough, the companies that employ them are at risk, they're worried about the health and financial future of their families and the club don't seem to be acknowledging any of that. Other clubs are taking steps to reduce costs, to put staff on furlough, to let the fans know the financial situation. What's happening at our club? King has stepped down as Chairman, the forthcoming investment seems to have gone away, there's no news about the suggested share issue, I understand that the club need our cash but there should be some communication, some efforts to show that those at the club are sharing the pain that a large section of the country are going through. They can't even tell us when games will be played and what season they will relate to. We must have cashflow problems. The accounts stated that season ticket money paid by credit card is "released to the Club over the course of the season." By my calculation there may be around £2.6 million still to be received due to the games that haven't been played. When is the Europa league cash coming from UEFA? Presumably the TV companies aren't paying anything over at the moment. It's such a crazy situation that Steven Naismith is the moral shining light in Scottish football at the moment. When are our players stepping up? We need the club to tell us what's happening and to take action to show us that they are doing everything they can to manage the situation.2 points

Excellent posts 26th but just one correction. If Rangers beat SJ and Celtic twice the difference is 4 points with 18 to play for not 15. Makes handing the league to them even more suspect.2 points

I’ve lost my second income and my Mrs has been furloughed mate, we have three season tickets to pay. So It has hugely impacted me I do however understand the club’s position. Before we go ott with criticism of them why not wait and see what plans they announce, I’m hoping it’s all relative to the current predicament2 points

Any player should have their wages capped during this outbreak at £3Kpw. The difference between that and their normal contracted wage will go to keep the club safe throughout this process. Every player should be able to live off £150Kpa, bearing in mind if they have been even the slightest bit responsible they will have significant savings put away, We are all in the normal world having to use savings to get us through this, why should the highest paid people in the country not have to? They are not being asked to go to the front line of the NHS, to take up jobs in supermarkets or voluntary work delivering essentials to pensioners and vulnerable people, they are merely being asked to live off less for a while, for the greater good. Rangers, Celtic & the entire top two leagues in England, should not be eligible for these handouts, for which we as taxpayers will be paying through the nose for, for many years to come through increased taxation. I will not be paying for a season ticket until I know we are not conceding the title to the bheasts. If we concede the title, (or meekly accept without fighting it legally), the SPFL giving them the title, I dont think I will be able to find it in myself to renew. Sporting Integrity must be delivered, where trophies must be won on the pitch in the timeframe announced at the beginning of the process. If the league cannot be completed by the end of May as is in the rules, it has to be declared null and void. I am happy to leave the remainder of my 19-20 ST money which I haven't had the games for yet with the club to see them through these troubled times. I dont want a refund to which I am entitled. But for the club to ask for more in all this uncertainty, and while they might allow the scum to be awarded a title they haven't won is, in my opinion, disgusting and a step too far. It is something Murray would have done, and would have been rightfully slaughtered for. I expected better of our current custodians.2 points

The club released a statement on Friday night which was fully detailed, short of saying they have £7m or 70p left in bank what more do you want them to say? In this share issue stuff was clarified An executive board team is looking at all eventualities with this Virus I was told more share issue details Would come out on release of ST stuff so if that’s true we’ll hear more next week Not at dig at you OP, but club have made information clear to extent they can, we will be informed of anything else that’s happening I think club are simply waiting & exploring carefully, if that’s the correct process we will see obviously nobody knows at present With Euro money all up in the air then we are in a bit of limbo, as our club makes relatively little from home games & no commercial income I’m not sure we feel punch as much but that’s only my own conjecture, our staff numbers are relatively small also (Fwiw I think players will take cuts but staff will be looked after as an offset of this - I can also see clubs not being allowed to Furlough staff in these events as MPs etc down south getting knickers in a twist about it - our club may be waiting for these outcomes)2 points

But what about 'sporting integrity'?1 point

I'm fairly surprised the club haven't done more when the government money is there but I suspect they will be doing so for good reasons rather than looking the other way. Beginning renewals next week (or perhaps the following one) is fair enough to bring in funds as per usual but without knowing what's even happening to the rest of this season, never mind next, fans will be reluctant to spend upwards of £400 without knowing where their cash is going. More so, if the players are still earning millions. I have sympathy for the players (a contract is a contract) but I guess we will soon see who is willing to lose some money for the good of the club.1 point

Very difficult at the moment, Craig. No cash coming in for the next few months and trying not to make anyone redundant. We're a profitable group but this is proving to be a very trying time. Far worse than anything we've had in the past. However we're all well, which is the main thing at the present time.1 point

It is a personal preference to not have to rely on others. It is unpalatable to me personally. At the end of the day, government have provided the bailout and companies, including Rangers, are certainly entitled to make use of it. Being a loss making company I imagine times are going to be very tough for you guys BD and even moreso with travel completely locked down. Hope youre well my friend.1 point

I don't see why furloughing staff is unpalatable. Most companies, even profitable ones (which we are not) will be doing it. We are a loss making company that has financial restraints and why shouldn't we use the funding that's available? Is it through some loyalty towards HMRC, given the favourable way they've treated us in the past? ?1 point

In principle I agree that furloughing staff would be a little unpalatable. If that could be achieved by the higher earners taking pay cuts then I am all for it. However, if our rivals, Celtic in particular, are furloughing staff and, effectively, saving themselves money then we are pushing then, unwittingly, further ahead of us financially. Obviously this depends on whether their players are taking paycuts as well or if they continue to pa them full salary. Ironic that they hate all things British, and Tories particularly, but more than happy to accept handouts from that same Tory government....1 point

Why is furloughing our staff not looking after them? If necessary, the club can make up the other 20% of their pay and they are no worse off but we have saved 80% of their salary while they are not working. Why would you rather the club incurred the cost if they are not working rather than having it financed by the government? Surely those at the club realise that? I've already highlighted why this isn't like any other season and the financial issues that the support have. The club can't even tell us if or when the season will start and they're wanting our cash, without apparently taking any steps to mitigate the situation. The club appear to be treating it as a normal season and don't appear to be taking account of the fans, which was the whole point of the OP. Perhaps you're lucky enough not to be financially impacted by the current crisis but there will be many who are but you and the club don't seem to be in the slightest concerned about them.1 point

You want our staff furloughed? No not for me I’d rather we looked after our staff at these times We are being asked for ST money at same time every year, the club have to try & plan for next season as normal. I would have thought that was self explanatory1 point

Getting slightly ahead of yourself there TB, are you not ? You are talking as if the title has already been handed to Celtic. And, even if it was, Rangers can't do a whole lot until such time as that is official - all they can really do is contend it in the background - and one has to think that is happening, given McAllister stating publicly we wouldn't concede the title to them. Making it a legal matter can't happen until it has been confirmed. I may be in the minority with regards to ST money and I fully appreciate that I am far more fortunate than many given I can work from home and our company s largely "business as usual" - but I personally would be fine with paying for my son and my ex's ST's in advance if it helps the club out. One would like to think that when ST renewal notices come out that the club will also provide narrative (public statement or included within ST letters) about the situation, what it means to the club, how they propose handling it, what consideration they have given to fans suffering financially etc. These are troubled times, with great uncertainty and things can change very quickly. The only certainty right now is that I will be having a glass of wine this evening1 point

Why are they waiting? Get costs under control now. TUI have made 11,000 staff furloughed. Why haven't Rangers done the same with their "relatively small" number of staff who are currently doing nothing? It all helps at this time. There is nothing to have prevented the club putting people on furlough a week ago. The furlough letters that came out yesterday only referred to the EPL, and these are no excuse as to why the club are not doing something. There's cash available from the Government. Why aren't we taking advantage of it? Why are we being asked for season ticket cash at this point if all the funding is in place and if there's no concerns? Are they considering the financial turmoil that their fans are going through. I received a call from a mate yesterday who is concerned about it as he has no cash coming in at the moment. The club's statement on one hand may be reassuring but there's now no incentive for players to look at their wages and take pay cuts, which other clubs throughout Europe have been able to achieve, and yet the fans are still being asked to cough up.1 point

Lies, damned lies, and Statistics. Today, on BBC Scotland's website, we can continue to see Rangers Colts lost 2-1 to Inverness CT on the 16th February'20 in the Tunnock's Carmel Wafer Challenge Cup. I suspect it's a comfort thing for the majority of their regular readers? Further, there's an article from Martin Watt entitled, 'How do the statisticians think the Premiership season will finish'? Underneath a huge photo' of ra Sellik on an open top bus celebrating a league win, Irish tricolour to the fore; Quantitative Methods are weaponised to once again put the H-u-ns in their place. I am sure Martin has completed the necessary chi squared analysis and t-test for fit? There are a few of Venn diagrams and pie charts in nice pastel shades. The conclusion is Rangers have a 1.13% chance of winning the league. Hearts have a 56% chance of avoiding relegation. Aberdeen are predicted to overturn Motherwell's current third placing, and St Johnstone have an opportunity of a top six place finish, should they win their game in hand(Rangers at Ibrox)? Next week, BBC Scotland consult Astrologers, telephone Pythia, High Priestess of the Oracle at Delphi, and conduct a live broadcast of Scatomancy on Peter and Neil's feces. Here's hoping our 1.13% chance of success rises? Oh, and Tom English has conducted a heart to heart with Neil Lennon, a real insight. Apparently, Neil has faced down a bombs and bullets threat, ......................................... and all sorts of other shit. Tom did not ask about the land deal with Slab Murphy, or the threats of violence against women, or Bolton Wanderers? A real insight? Thats Tom for you, guaranteed happy endings every time. Maybe, Martin Watt can get the Statisticians to predict the probability of Tom gagging at least once?1 point

Producers produce ....... Early last week, I was reading the Herald online. The standard of Journalism on the old blat has been in steady decline for a couple of decades. Often, there is more informed opinion to be found in the Readers Comments section underneath most articles. On a piece about the financial mayhem awaiting most Scottish clubs during these estranged times, the writer suggested clubs could do worse than pay attention to Rangers conduct through, 'the Journey'. Immediately, I thought click bait for the haters; of which the Herald has many. There was mild surprise on my part after clicking on the readers comments. The first comment was a paragraph of absolute hate that began, "I was a Producer at BBC Scotland for many years ...............". Recalling his time at Hamilton Gardens/PQ, the contributor vented his memories of 2012 and the mess left behind by Rangers and their use of EBTs. I thought he would mention Rangers not receiving their monies for finishing runners-up after the ten point deduction and demand that those monies should be paid out this season, a lesson learned? No, Peter Broughan was too busy articulating his hate to do comparisons. Peter Broughan was top of the tree in Beeb Scotland, he produced 'Only a Game', 'Your Cheating Heart', 'Tutti Frutti' ......................................, etc. He also teamed up with fellow Yahoo, Michael Caton-Jones to produce the Hollywood financed film, 'Rob Roy' starring Liam Neeson. I was glad no Rangers supporter, nor supporter of another club took Peter to task for his Sevco, EBT, and new club rant. He is the epitome of an approaching his seventieth year Yahoo, in the wilderness facing uncertainty, and holding on to his one true thing for grim life - his overwhelming hatred of Rangers. He doesn't want to move over to allow younger Yahoos an opportunity to vent hatred, his right to spit venom must always be practised. Yesterday at PQ, our national broadcaster placed the megaphone in the hands of Pat Boner, Kris Commons, John Hartson, Tom English, Michael Stewart, .............. etc. Today, it's been John Hartson and Gordon Strachan. The undercurrent is Sellik must be awarded the title. Beeb Scotland do not speak to Rangers supporters, thus it becomes a bit awkward for them when Rangers supporters contributions to a debate are required for the purposes of balance. No problem, PQ has numerous Presenters who have numerous friends who support Rangers. These notional Rangers supporters are leaned upon, often. This weekend is about encouragement to Rangers supporters, we had, "there are even Rangers supporters who are willing to cede the title to Celtic to move the game on". John Hartson was magnanimous, "if Rangers admit Celtic as Champions, they would receive a lot of credit". The bitterness and vitriol all lies with Rangers and their supporters, opines Kris. It's convenient to have these notional Bears, it's like DrStu' back in the day claiming Rangers would complete their journey playing in front of an average of 8,000 fans. His rational was most Gers supporters were/are glory hunters and would not put up with the reality of a mediocre Rangers. Further, he knew three Rangers supporters who were long term season ticket holders and they were not returning because they believed Rangers to be a different, new club. Other highlights were Michael Stewart and Fraser Wishart(now head of the Players Union) having a ding dong. Fraser objected to Michael's line of questioning. It must be getting harder for Producers at the Beeb to find folk to come on, just because Stewart has not had an argument with them? Tom English battered Hearts and Ann Budge. No longer worthy of praise, no longer a model club, and Tom regrets this. Tom did not articulate his real resentment, and he is speaking for the majority of PQ colleagues here; the real resentment in no longer being able to use, 'Hearts are a model club' is that it was weaponised to continually wield the big stick at Rangers and listening Rangers supporters. Don't worry, another stick will be found soonest. There was consensus on this season being finished, even if it means season 2020/2021 does not occur because of the time required to clear up the coronavirus situation. The Dandies grouping are still concerned about the Scottish Cup being completed, £3million among four clubs is much needed future finance. Self interest is catching, although no one knows notional Rangers supporters promoting blue tinged self interest? If they did, of course they would be labeled self serving selfish bastards. Today's BBC Scotland football web page has one result from lat February - Inverness CT 2 Rangers U21 1 and has an invitation to view text commentary of the 2016 Scottish Cup final. There's no mention of the aftermath. Further, there's a trumpeting of Hartson's demand for Rangers to be afforded, "huge respect" if they cede the title. I wonder, if ra Sellik were awarded the Championship, would Rangers receive their runners-up prize money? Would the 2012 monies be paid also? I am sure the PQ Producers can find enough notional Rangers supporters to comment upon such a notion? It will occur when one contributor finds the courage to say Rangers could win their game in hand and defeat ra Sellik home and away, leaving them 4 points behind with five to play. It's just a notion.1 point
