  1. Many thanks to @Rick Roberts for another well argued piece!

  2. Absolutely astounding that Griffiths was not sent off that stamp. Not so astounding that Michael Stewart says it was a yellow card offence. Morelos would be crucified for that he has been sent off for things nowhere near as bad as that.

  3. Much as I'm grateful for the strides forward over the last few years, I think it's only right to acknowledge how very far the club still needs to shape up. Sometimes I think its strategic use of the media has not advanced at all. The notion of Club1872 is a retrograde step. Only the club itself has the authority to speak and be listened to. Using fans group as a surrogate carries no gravitas at all.

  4. These are small amounts that add up over the course of a season. We'll never know if Celtic would have got full points if Griffiths had been sent off or if we would have won if Cosgrove (and other Aberdeen players) would have been booked early but the league title is/was tight and these small margins can make the difference between dropping points or not (or stopping offside goals in cup finals). If a Celtic player had done what Jamie Hamilton did yesterday, does anyone seriously believe that he would have been sent off? Not a chance. There are different rules applied to clubs and to players, and it's making Scottish football a joke. It annoys me to hear people say we should have won anyway. It's not possible for a team of our resources to play well every week. We're going to have off days. The difference is that when we have one the ref gives the opposition every assistance by allowing carte blanche fouling, or time wasting etc whereas Celtic can do whatever they want and not get sent off, and sending the opposition players off at any excuse. We're going to end up losing players and the management team once they realise that the game is rigged in Scotland and it's only possible for one team to win the league.

  5. The Griffiths one at the weekend is probably the most inexplicable. It is the most blatant red card you will ever see, not to mention cowardly intimidation of a man lying on the ground. Morelos got a straight red for a retaliatory kick at McKenna's shinpad which didn't even make him flinch. He got another straight red for a flick at McKenna as they tangled. It wasn't clear he even achieved contact from the replays. Griffiths pulls a man to the ground and stamps on him right in front of the referee. To add insult to injury the referee books Gogic who comes to the aid of his teammate and pushes Griffiths away. Absolutely astounding, he did well to push him and not punch him. There is no stronger argument for bias than the comparison of those incidents.

  6. Frankly, what's the fucking point. The cheating is no longer subtle. If the club won't protest this from the rooftops then there is no point going on.

  7. The club seem to have got into the habit of letting Club1872 fill the vacuum created by their lack of public commentary.

  8. I said to my old man after Saturday's match that Cosgrove seems to be allowed 7 or 8 fouls before a card is produced, whereas Morelos simply has to frown to get one. Brown and Griffiths are given free reign to kick, stamp and elbow their way through matches. Obviously both are exemplary fellows, so perhaps that gains them a few Brownie points with Clancy, Dallas et al.

  9. Through the Window. "Edinburgh Zoo have accepted the transfer of Rangers player, Filip Sebo, they plan to exhibit him". These last 15 years or so, BBC Radio Scotland have run a special show each year on the 31st of January entitled, 'Through the Window'. It documents the transfers happening on the last day of the January transfer window. For a couple of hours, up till midnight, half a dozen of the usual talking heads report and discuss the various player movements. The above quote is from Richard Gordon(Big Dick), long term Host of the Show. Thirteen years past, Big Dick informed the listenership he had received an hilarious e-mail and wanted to broadcast it; however, he decreed he would need the Producer's nod before doing so. The drama built for over an hour. I believe the Producer that evening was Martin Conaghan, he okayed the broadcasting of the e-mail and Big Dick had a hard time getting through the text without laughing. The other reporters found it funnt too, a couple laughed like drains. BBC Radio Scotland received hundreds of complaints, the gist being Zoos exhibit animals, why was Big Dick keen to dehumanise Filip Sebo? A disciplinary proceeding began and Big Dick was found to have no case to answer. It was pointed out that ra Sellik song contains a line, "we don't care what the animals say" and BBC Scotland confirmed that very message. It was also pointed out that BBC Scotland do not broadcast such constant dehumanising propaganda about any other clubs' players. Have BBC Radio Scotland changed? Well, the hatred is just more careful. Both Friday night's and Saturday afternoon's discussions on the latest transfers focused on Rangers. The consensus of the window's machinations was Hearts signing of Liam Boyce is THE transfer. they may be right? Rangers two signings of Hagi and Flo' Kamberi are naturally split. Off the Ball asked the question, 'has the son ever been better than the father'? The conclusion was no. Flo Kamberi was completely different, his crime was to say positive things about Rangers and Rangers supporters. DrStu' and Cowan concluded it was boak inducing. Agent, Allan Preston guesting on the show criticised Kamberi for not being respectful of Hibs. Further, he advised he cannot return to Edinburgh, the Hibs fans are fulminating on his remarks. Of course, Hibs have rescued Greg Docherty, a young Scot not fulfilling his potential because of lack of game time. Big Dick hosting 'Open all Mikes' reinforced the already expressed views on Kamberi. He was most positive on Aberdeen's Venezuelan signing, Ronald Hernandez. He cost nearer the million pound mark than the half-million, a right back doing well in the Norwegian league. Michael Stewart ripped into Kamberi, called him stupid, cannot see where he will fit in at Rangers, and warned he should stay away from Edinburgh. Kheredine Idessane conducted his pre-match interview with Hibs Boss, Jack Ross, his first question was his reaction to Flo' Kamberi's remarks? Jack Ross sidestepped the question. They do not openly refer to Rangers players as animals anymore; but future signings should be aware of the careful hate and ridicule coming their way, should they sign(and in particular say positive things about club and support) for Rangers. The second part of Off the Ball begins at 17.30hrs, I was continuing my drive home and heard 20 minutes of special guest, Derek Stillie. He remains both a Lawyer and a Goalkeeping Coach. He began by asking Chris Sutton for an apology? He was the Pars Keeper that day in 2003, when we won the League by defeating Dunfermline 6-1. He stated Sutton's remarks of expecting the Pars to lie down deliberately, were an insult upon all Pars players' professionalism. He then stuck it on Michael Stewart, like Sutton he was permanently angry. Now, DrStu' is a bi supporter of his fellow Scots nationalist, and he began to bristle. Stillie added, "maybe if Sir Alex had given him a game at Manchester United, he would be less angry". DrStu' replies, "oh, we're blaming Sir Alex"? Stillie opines, "your right, Sir Alex is Scots, it would have to be somebody English for Michael, let's blame Brian Kidd". By next week, I am positive DrStu' will be blaming James Traynor for briefing Derek Stillie.

  10. Bring him home. We do lack someone that takes on their man and takes a shot, strangely. Kent should be able to do that more. It's not just him, though, several players are guilty of not being brave in the final third.

  11. Remember the Scottish cup game v the sheep at Ibrox last season? Eight of their outfield players were booked for a final stat of 80% of the entire outfield booked. It's obvious to everyone that this is a strategy which amounts to one gets booked he then passes the baton to someone else to be booked. Fouling is illegal and this is a clear pre-planned tactic of deliberate fouling to prevent a technically superior side playing any football. Referees have to see from the outset that this is happening and be producing those cards a lot quicker letting them know that you're not going to be doing this. Referee of that game was Kevin Clancy.

  12. That's the one that has scunnered me more than any other. The custodians at Ibrox are doing a good job in some respects but are f*cking useless in others. They're never slow to throw the support under the bus.

  13. There's something that is beyond doubt, Celtic have been ruthless and relentless in infiltrating every area of football, and often at Rangers expense. And in each case their objective is clear and unapologising, to look after celtics interests. The press we maybe expect some nonsense and even laughed at it for a while but it is beyond doubt and to a worse degree than we wanted to admit. There's been years of denial on this. We know the SFA is rigged. The faces and votes are why they are there tell us that. Mike Mulraney, Neil Doncaster ffs. It's a closed shop at the moment. Gordon Smith (who was forced out btw) told us how the sectarian battle was lost with UEFA. Relentless politicking and we didn't have a clue. The recent mask-slipping at FARE. Dynamite. Yet where are the club? Last year with the compliance officier. F*cking hell. The youth referee and his tweet on Defoe. Do we really expect that this one important area would be left untouched and pure? I'll happily rather be paranoid and wrong. Then dignified and watch us being f*cked over in plain sight.

  14. It's easy to get a banner that size in. Where do you draw the line at offensive? It was a daft banner and it's better to ignore it than highlight it.

  15. That is essentially it. Teams have checked our tactics for half a season, saw how Aribo, Kent and Co. operated and now act accordingly. Some better, some not. And Aberdeen usually give us a tough ride, no matter who we play. Thus, Saturday - given our recent form - was very much to be expected. Barasic and Polster did overlap well enough and Polster in particular showed some neat flashes of skill too. Once we are on the front foot, we usually have 2 CHs at the back and 5 or 6 guys in mdifield, only that in the final third the end product is missing. What bothers me is that we time and again try to pass our way into goal rather than having a shot from distance. Arfield and Kent tried some, but far too often Aribo and Ojo try to outsmart the 3 or 4 guys in front of them and eventually lose the ball or it gets deflected and cleared. This happened all season, mind you, only that Alfredo dug us out time and again. Obviously, we are all tactical geniuses and know how to do things better ... yet you would hope that either we play people able to shot and do the tricky bit stuff like Stewart instead of the odd defender or DM, or we apply some more pressure by shooting from outsider the area, which would be Kent's, Arfield's, Davis' and Jones job. BTW, when did Tav score his last goal with a rasping shot or free-kick ... much like he did in his 1st season? Wonder what happened to his accuracy. Haven't listened and read SG's post match comments ... and probably won't do it ... simply to not getting more frustrated.

  16. It does not help that when they do make runs many of them are missed due to sideway passing or alot of back passing especially from Katic and Kamara therefor no momentum.
    1 point
  17. I do like the sound of that team. Goldson really the only ione close to getting passmarks recently. Kamara definitely needs to sit out a game or two after his last few performances. Despite his goal I think Kent has been disapointing of late too but unsure of how in favour the replacements could be. Also hope Stewart is nearing firness to at least make the squad and give us more attacking options with him and Kamberi on the bench.

  18. Ojo was brought first because he was one of our better players against Ross County so it made sense to have him as first sub with Hagi and Kamberi still new to the squad and system. It didn't work because Ojo is too slow on the ball and doesn't use it anywhere near quick enough so was crowded out more often than not. Hagi came on and played a bit deeper and used the ball quicker so was more effective. Unfortunately, by that time, and despite us going 3-5-2 (or even more aggressive actually), Aberdeen had sat very deep, there was minimal space and with hardly any player showing any belief or taking responsibility we never really looked like grabbing a winner. Having Tav back for Wednesday should help, as should a sharper Morelos. Further, I'd drop Katic and bring in Edmundson who'd be more effective on the ball and could step into midfield where required if Hibs sit as deep as others have. Aribo, Arfield and Davis should be the midfield with Kent, Hagi and Morelos in attack. Nothing to lose now!

  19. Some great fotball this weekend. What a turnaround for Southampton after their 9-0 drubbing from Leicester. Really good game with Liverpool and a bit unfair on the scoreline but Liverpool are just lethal at the moment, hopefully they make it to 50 to beat Arsenals record; had to laugh at the comments from Pires over the weekend about being lucky etc the man was a great player but is deluded !! Good game yesterday too between Spurs and Man City, not quite sure what's gone wrong with Cith this season, can't see it purely being down to the Laporte injury but rumours of unrest in the camp. How Stirling wasn't sent off is also beyond me. Arsenal & ManU games a bit boring and predictable as seems to be the norm. Traore coming back on after getting a dislocated shoulder put back in place, some man and a great season he's having. Great to watch the West Han v Brighton and Watford v Everton games, loads of goals and so hard to predict any results in that league....other than a Liverpool win each week

  20. Never more obvious that there are massive problems with the ref's in Scotland and especially anti Rangers. Have only read about the comments from that prick Stewart on Sportscene but not suprising at all. Ally absolutely spot on with his comments. Unfortunately nothing is likely to change any time soon

  21. It really is frustrating. I always preferred the Advocaat style regarding substitutes...ie. If it isn't working, change it early, if required. I've seen enough of Ojo. He has the heart of a mouse and the (footballing) brain of an ostrich.
