  1. Very bad luck to find ourselves going into games without Jack and Tavernier. Two hugely important players.

  2. It’s spreading! I’d build correction camps ?

  3. I don't disagree with that but to be fair to Katic, he's done very well since coming back into the team and will only get better with experience. A word for Goldson as well, who, IMO has been one of our best players over the last couple of months.

  4. This is a football forum, people are supposed to believe they are right and anyone who disagrees (including the manager) is an idiot. Unless I’ve been doing it wrong.

  5. He also occupies BOTH centre halves by himself, which effectively makes him almost like an extra player on the pitch

  6. Just spell it out. You will find an open minded and friendly audience.

  7. The other day wasn't down to Katic or Goldson. Even if his distribution had been better the midfield 3 spewed it up all day.

  8. Gone! “I’d suggest it’s gone up slightly.” Weegies! ?

  9. I'm firmly in the 'Helander is better than Katic' camp. Katic is better in the air and is a goal-threat at set-pieces; Helander is better with his feet and better at reading the game - and it's not just booting it out: When Helander reads the game, we tend to keep possession, and start attacks; Katic just boots it out. I prefer the latter. I do love the guy [Katic]; there's a lot to admire in his passion and aggressive style. If he could combine that with better positional sense, and be able to play a pass, then he'd be some player. To be fair, he can still learn that.

  10. I'd suggest it's went up slightly. £7m or thereabouts for the lad was a big outlay given he's still largely unproven. However, he's shown again since returning from injury when he first arrived that he's capable of top quality play and can score very important goals. There are some very good players in this Rangers team but Kent excites me the most when he's on form. Sure he's still far from the finished article: he needs to improve his decision-making on the ball, improve his shooting and try to avoid dropping too deep in games but I think those virtues will come with more experience and his value will rise incrementally as a result. There's arguably a middle ground to be found between signing a Jones or a Barker for free compared to £7m for an unfinished player like Kent but sometimes I'd suggest the bigger fee is worth it as the eventual sale will be bigger.

  11. Apologies, wasn't meant to be serious ? I liked Cummins but he had his chance, likeable guy tho.

  12. I'm so surprised that after that defeat we are focussing so much 'blame' on our most creative player, the one who scored our goal in tha game, and one of the few who worked his socks off (despite having one of his poorer games). Our problem is that we don't have enough Ryan Kents in the team!!!

  13. I would say anti-protestant, anti unionist is far more prevalent in the Celtic support than anti-Irish and anti-Catholic is within ours. It is, after all, their sole reason for being.

  15. Morelos is undoubtedly a huge miss. He's creative, he's robust, he's physical and he's bad tempered.

  16. I said it at the time and I believe it now..... timing is everything. The winter break was perfect for Celtic as they could go away, recharge batteries and forget that defeat. For us, the opposite is true. We won, on a high, playing well, looking sharp - go away and instead of recharging batteries almost rest on laurels..... despite the warnings from Gerrard about last year. Also can't be forgotten that Hearts actually did well on the weekend, they played a high press which hadn't been expected.

  17. Personally don't think that makes a blind bit of difference because McGregor is giving them pelters with or without an armband.

  18. Fair point but I know people who want a season ticket but aren't on the waiting list because it's so long they view it as futile.

  19. Helamder has the experience of playing in Italy but he’s a s slow as week in the jail, watching him turn is like watching an oil tanker turn. Katic for me, also think Edmundson has something in the little ive seen him.

  20. Is there really 15K on the waiting list? I saw a discussion on FF and there were suggestions that it's not real. There's many people who aren't interested anymore and others who have already got one. People who wanted one for the following season were generally able to get one, as long as they weren't wanting 3 or 4 together,

  21. We made some odd back-up signings in the Summer. Gerrard will hopefully continue to learn from these.

  22. At a glance Rotherham look like they're playing well. They're sitting 2nd in League 1. I've no idea however, if that was expected at the start of the season or not. Nor how much influence (if any) Hastie has had in that.

  24. It's literally in the posts before I posted. And now there is someone claiming I've said there is no anti-British sentiment across the entirety of Ireland. I never said that, I said I've lived here for more than three years and I haven't experienced anything, no one cares, they are just normal people like you or I. I'm not saying there aren't people in the Celtic support like this, but not all the Celtic support are like that nor are all Irish people.

  25. I'd agree that it would be bizarre. However I wonder if it's due to the change in our style of play, where we're not playing a 4-3-3 with 2 wide players any more. Even so, it does seem strange that we're considering getting rid.

  27. Manager is on our side on this one. Helander very often doesn’t get his due because of the cult hero status of Katic.

  29. I never leave early to go to the pub but do leave early in midweek games because it makes a big difference to when we get home. I have missed the last several games due to ill health and would be very upset, if as some advocate, I lost the right to renew my season ticket. I hope that I am well enough to make the game on Saturday. I've missed it like hell.

  31. I don't want to get along with people who turn a blind eye to child abuse, wave banners and scarves with anti-British slogans, wave Vatican flags, hang blow-up dolls off stands or who seem incable of maintaining basic hygiene standards.

  34. Something I will never, ever understand. I took my kid to Liverpool game v Brighton in late November at Anfield. Had to be up at 4am for a flight but never got home till gone midnight. I understand blueflag's pain because the next day is absolutely brutal. But was I missing the end of the game ? Nope. It is a little different for me though as I don't get to as many games as I would like to in a season so I sit till the bitter end - even when watching us under Pedro, which was usually brutal viewing after the 1st 10 minutes But when people would rather be in the pub with a pint in hand than actually supporting their team I just can't understand it, no matter how poor the performance is. It's the reason for being there in the first place.

  35. DrStu' has spent a while traveling this road, his username on the RTC Blog was his maternal grandmother, 'Sarah Leyden'; he will take any opportunity to boast of her Donegal birth. In his piece on Irish clubs in Scottish football, he states he would be supporting Erin Rovers over his beloved St Johnstone in the clubs' first final because Erin Rovers player, 'Cosgrove' had struck a strong shot towards goal. He tells us that Cosgrove is a Galway name. DrStu' is striving for purity, it's important in his preferred rebel nationalistic projection of himself. The Warren Cummings accent test is so last year. The other thing, and this takes us closer to the real truth; the Producer of Sportscene is Eamonn Donohue, and DrStu' likes to be seen toadying up to those in authority. There is a growing colony of Irish folk at PQ, and they can keep DrStu' in work, supporting his extensive lifestyle in his 68th year. In the last couple of years, he has seamlessly switched horses mid stream to maintain his standard of life. He welcomed the then new female BBC Scotland Director General, Donalda MacKinnon to PQ by stating on the media review, "I've met her on a couple of occasions, I like her, I like her a lot". Similarly, a guy who boasted of being on Alex Salmond advisory and advice teams, took the time on the media review to announce the current FM had not put a foot wrong in dealing with the current sexual accusations; however, "I don't want to be seen as a Bute House sook". DrStu' has a considerable property portfolio to support.
