  1. Donald Findlay was forced to resign for similar, Hugh Dallas was sacked for forwarding an email joke about the Pope, just saying!.

  2. Separate Entity FC fans are not offended being called fen1ans , never were, it was all just sectarian from them as they hate Rangers & Rangers fans which they believe are all protestants! also the Billy boys song was a great chant that they detested! so they went about attacking it and won!. Nobody is offended by these words, just another way to attack Rangers.

  3. I think it´s evident that we are still some way short of where we need to be but as I said, it´s about incremental steps and that has to be the way given the finances (see respective wagebills). SG&Co have done very well to keep progressing to where we are today. The board have done very well to support the football operation to the extent they have, both in raw dosh and in putting in place an infrastructure that we´ll hopefully see the benefit of further down the line. The first team squad have done very well this season to produce a consistency of result that means we are there to challenge for the spoils. Not forgetting the support who have been fantastic, filling Ibrox game after game. We are still some way short but It´s going in the right direction , it´s going to need more patience because upseting the applecart isn´t an option.....The defeat on Sunday was hard to take but it´s gone. The YB game provides an opportunity to bounce right back and achieve a tangible measure of progress as well as several million sterling.

  4. Frankly, if we continue to vote for politicians who encourage or condone attacks against us then we have little room to complain when a protected minority takes the piss out of us. We have examples of it on this very forum, people who are only too willing to give encouragement and votes to a political elite that clearly despise us. Until this changes and we focus on those among us who actively permit this situation to continue then we should suck it up and write "Hun - kick me" on our backs.

  5. Really? They use it in a sectarian, derogatory manner. "Know your place hun scum". It's used in a condescending, bigoted way. I don't see anything to be proud of.

  6. Ever been kicked in the balls? That’s what Young Boys injury time winner in Bern felt like. Only the pain from a boot in the chuckies would have disappeared a lot quicker than the gut wrenching, pit of the stomach feeling that I, and other bears had following Fassnacht’s 93rd minute winner. However this isn’t a time for “what ifs” and we don’t know how we would have got on in future games had we not lost the late goal, so there’s no reason to worry about it now. This is the last game of the group stage and all 4 teams in the group could still qualify for the Round of 32. The various scenarios are: 1. We win – we win the group, and I believe it would be the first ever European group in Europe that we’ve topped, which would be a fantastic achievement, particularly as we were bottom seeds. 2. We draw – we qualify for the next round. If Porto beat Feyenoord then we’re second in the group, but any other result means we’re top. 3. We lose – we qualify for the next round if Porto fail to beat Feyenoord, but if Porto win then we’re out. Tactically, Young Boys will likely line up in their normal narrow 4-4-2, with their full backs Janko and Garcia providing the width and a diamond shape in the midfield. Nsame and Assale continue to provide the threat up front with Fassnacht also offering a goal scoring menace from midfield, with all 3 of them having scored twice in the group stages. Due to the diamond shape, Young Boys tend to play the ball forward rather than to the sides. If we can push back their full backs, perhaps by overloading the wings with our own full back and wide player then we may stifle some of their play. They need a win as a draw may not be good enough so they will likely be adopting an attacking approach to the game. Young Boys appear to have some defensive issues. In their previous 4 games before their 1-0 win at the weekend, they’d lost 3 goals in each of their 3 domestic games and 2 goals at home to Porto. They do however remain top of the Swiss Super League by a point. It looks like Davis may still be missing and Helander may be a doubt. Katic would step in for Helander and is a more than adequate replacement. I think that he will stick with the same midfield as Sunday with realistically only the right-sided attacker place being up for grabs. Will he stick with Aribo or go for Ojo’s pace, or perhaps even reinstate Barker? I think that he may surprise us and pick Ojo to try and limit Garcia’s attacking threat. Their centre-half, Sorensen, struggled against Morelos in the first game, so hopefully we will create a lot of chances from wide areas with the full backs overlapping, with our midfielders providing cover, and our wide players cutting in and pulling their full backs out of position. We have the set-up to cause them some tactical problems. Let’s do it, Rangers! You owe us after Sunday and this would be a huge pick-me-up for the club. I value my crown jewels too much for us to get anything other than at least a draw, to allow us to still be in Europe after Christmas, a scenario that would have seemed impossible 18 months ago.

  7. Surely that is what we should be demanding of the media in Scotland. If this was a Rangers player or official using the F****n word then they would be lining up with torches and pitchforks. When I see Scott Brown's ditty on Reporting Scotland subtitled and with a bouncing ball so we can all keep in tune then I'll know we are really treated equally and fairly. Until then.....well it's obvious we're not.

  8. I really couldn't care less what he sings. I really don't care what people say in general. I would however be horrified if one of our players did it because it shows a lack of class. What really does annoy me though is the double standards. If this was a Rangers player it would already be front and centre on the BBC website and there would already be dozens of tweets by MSPs declaring a national emergency. And there would be others reminding us that sectarian chants and child abuse are not as bad as tax avoidance. When Scott Brown woke up on Monday morning he had a winner's medal and another few thousand pounds in his bank account. When Tav woke up Monday morning he had no medal and fewer pounds in his bank, but at least he's the Rangers captain. Brown has to wake up every morning as the scumbag he is and no amount of medals of money will ever change that. I know who I'd rather be.

  10. I think it´s unrealistic to expect a smooth and seamless upward trajectory, both this month and in general. The important and reasonable expectation/hope IMO, would be general significant progress season on season. That would encompass the remit of stopping 10IAR, whether it be this season or next. The important thing to consider when thinking about that remit, is that there isn´t an alternative (successful) option that is feasible. We are on a path and I think it´s the right one #patience

  11. Any media coverage on this yet? It is the equivalent of fenian. Simple as that. The excuses they use for hun could easily be used for fenian, probably more so. Why would we really be singing against catholics with a team full of catholics? And yet they managed to get one categorised as racist in euro competition and cause us no end of concern, damage, money and time. It's maddening how bullshit and upside down it all is.

  12. Not sure I would agree, as Feyenoord looked the poorest team to me. Having said that, I don't think there is a lot between the four teams with no one (two teams) being dominant.

  15. I'm not sure hypotheticals help much but had the result been reversed I'd have been much happier, aside from the obvious elation at winning cup the display of resilience and winning when playing poorly plus the psychological impact it would have had on both sides would have led me to believe we're closer to a league winning side than I feel we are now.

  16. I'm surprised there are not more comments on the state of the Rangers' web services. The player stats have yet to be updated from the Aberdeen game let alone Sunday and the player pic bios of the young teams are pathetic. If you can't be arsed to do it properly then don't bother at all. It's really sloppy in an area that is relatively easy to get right, if there's a will that is.

  28. If we had played poorly and won I would be ecstatic, as we would have shown a new steel and nerve. We didn't and we don't, it was a fantastic performance with no clinical termination of the opponent. Good football from most but the mentality still is not there. As a footballing side (and human beings going by social media) they are far inferior to us. However, their psychological winning mentality is was ahead of ours and it shows.

  33. We lost a one-off game yesterday. But that's all that happened. By common opinion on all sides we were the superior team over the piece ... but we still lost. However, it's important we don't allow temporary disappointment to get in the way of rational perspective. It wasn't a judgement from God that we lost, nor does it condemn Rangers to permanent inferiority. We're a better team than we were and next year we'll be a better team than we are, which doesn't guarantee trophies but it will sure as hell improve our chances. What matters far more to me is that we return to being the best football team that our circumstances allow. I'd rather lose yesterday and continue to make progress than win and think we had arrived. Mind you I'd much rather we had won and continue to make progress.

  34. Celtic are having a good season and have had some exceptional results in Europe, but yesterday they were poor. We should have pummelled their 18 year old full back for a start, it was only his 4th match ever, instead we let him look like he's Carlos Alberto at times. I accept we played well for most of the match, but I genuinely feel that Celtic's strange starting line-up and shape allowed us to build from the back and meant they kept giving away possession. We should have beaten them yesterday, they were there for the taking.

  35. I think we're a better squad than this time last year and light years from the year before that, so I agree about the situation as a whole. But we couldn't beat a poor Celtic side yesterday. That tells me we're still some way short of where we need to be.
