One thing is certain if Defoe doesn't score he is the waste of a jersey. Morelos did more in 10 minutes than Defoe 80 minutes.

The problem is the loan system. Restrict the number of players that a club can loan out and then youth development would look quite different.

For some bizarre reason, I thought today's game was a 3pm kick off. Get back in from a long walk with the dug to find out it's nearly half-time! Time it well though just in time for a wonderful second goal but lots of work to do in the second half to deliver the points. I can think of no player who has benefited more from the financial and corporate struggles at Rangers than Scott Brown. His sideboard is creaking under the weight of trophies he wouldn’t have won had Rangers not been consigned to 8 years of effective exile. I’m not saying he’s without some talent or that Celtic would have won nothing over that period but the success he’s enjoyed is certainly tainted by circumstances and diluted in worth. The way the media has elevated him to star status is out of all proportion to his abilities and is based on achievements during a period when there was no credible challenge.

More worrying for them is that they are only one point in front of second bottom St Johnstone and three points in front of bottom placed St Mirren. While St Johnstone have a worse goal difference St Mirren have a better goal difference. With St Johnstone having a home game against Aberdeen and St Mirren at home to Ross county a defeat to Rangers could see them plunge to the bottom of the league if the other two results go against them. I would imagine that fact will make them keep the game as tight as possible. The referee for the day is Steven McLean 'with Dougie Potter, Drew Kirkland running the line and the Fourth Official is Gavin Ross. Unfortunately playing Hamilton in Hamilton means another run-out on one of those horrible plastic pitches. What a shame the SPFL didn't take the Dutch example and propose to kick them out. I take it that will rule out Jamie Murphy getting a place on the bench. After beating them 5-0 the last time we finished that day by climbing to the top of the League after a Celtic defeat at Livingstone so let's hope Rangers and Livingston can give us a repeat performance and we get back where we belong. Just simply psychology-tell people enough times that they are only going to get fined, and that they can do no wrong, then the public are habituated. It becomes just noise in the background and the corruption continues. Liewell on European working groups, alleged favours from the Irish connections within UEFA and on committees? Let’s be honest many of our own support are now habituated to the perceived corruption, so what chance have we got?

I feel he's the most potent player we have in those crowded situations. There can look no way through when he just throws in a couple of twists and turns and he's through the crowd.

Players often score soon after I criticise them on here. On the morning of 8th December, I'm going to criticise the whole team.

I still feel the above is correct. When he connects properly, it's almost unstoppable. But, it doesn't happen often enough.

I think this could be bad news. Gilmour would have been in our first team by now. King may have to wait years to get a sniff at Man C. or L'pool. We must have advisers who can ram home the point that it's not always about money.

That's another thing about youth development, it's a bit of a lottery.

It's an interesting point and one I think there's a good argument for it. All I would say is that not every kid who shows massive potential at 15 realises it, and many a kid who didn't look like they'd make it at 15 goes on to have a stellar career. Elfideldo tells of seeing Michael Stewart play as a schoolboy, he turned down our offer and signed for Man Utd, a club with a fantastic record of nurturing talent, but failed to live up to the expectation. I don't know much about the lad King other than he seems to be highly prized, however it's hard to make a strong argument for him to stay with Rangers currently which is a real shame.

It has only happened with one other player, Gilmour, nonsense to suggest we should scrap the youth system, we have a lot of talent in the youth teams who may be good enough for our first team eventually. Also this hasn't happened yet, most 1st contract offers are rejected.

How much does a good grass pitch actually cost to install and maintain? I have no idea of the numbers. The clubs would then moan about loss of income etc. A well organised and well led governing body would make grass pitches mandatory, but could certainly centralise control and maintenance of pitches for those that need it.

A lot of people with reasonable wealth support Rangers. The problem is, there aren't many with stratospheric wealth and even if there were, Scottish football is not a good investment. I have some minimal inside info and haven't heard a thing about significant investment. I wouldn't suggest there's much to get excited about...but hope I'm wrong.

About time something concrete came of Julian Wolhardt's appointment to the board. Otherwise there seems little point to it. I hope there's substance to these rumours but like everyone else I'll believe it only when the board announces it.
