My sources (the published annual accounts) tell me that the club needs £10 million and that Dave King has agreed to fund it. Other sources (the published AGM agenda) tell me that the directors are seeking the authority to have a share issue.4 points

One thing is certain if Defoe doesn't score he is the waste of a jersey. Morelos did more in 10 minutes than Defoe 80 minutes.3 points

The problem is the loan system. Restrict the number of players that a club can loan out and then youth development would look quite different.3 points

Morelos got booked after he got fouled. The guy who fouled him went unpunished.??2 points

One thing today proved is that Defoe is not a man to play in this sort of game albeit he is a great striker.2 points

Thought the WHOLE defense was culpable at Hamilton goal. Another stroll for Jack.2 points

I don't think any other player would have been given a yellow card for that.2 points

For some bizarre reason, I thought today's game was a 3pm kick off. Get back in from a long walk with the dug to find out it's nearly half-time! Time it well though just in time for a wonderful second goal but lots of work to do in the second half to deliver the points. Even in the 5mins I seen we looked a bit ponderous on the ball and also fell asleep right after the goal.2 points

If he can get his final ball sorted I agree the guy would be unplayable. Let's hope SG & the coaches get him working harder on that.2 points

So If we are going to lose any player who looks the part would we be better off not investing in a youth system and just acquire a squad as needs be? A rhetorical question as it's not going to happen but it does make you wonder who we are going to bring through under those circumstances.2 points

I can think of no player who has benefited more from the financial and corporate struggles at Rangers than Scott Brown. His sideboard is creaking under the weight of trophies he wouldn’t have won had Rangers not been consigned to 8 years of effective exile. I’m not saying he’s without some talent or that Celtic would have won nothing over that period but the success he’s enjoyed is certainly tainted by circumstances and diluted in worth. The way the media has elevated him to star status is out of all proportion to his abilities and is based on achievements during a period when there was no credible challenge.2 points

Hamilton v Rangers Match preview. Yes! Yes! Yes! The international breaks are being put in cold storage until March. From now until March it is wall to wall club football. Well except for that stupid idiot idea of having a winter stop, It just means taking 3 weeks off and then having to play a backlog of games in a crushed schedule later date.We are now entering into the meaty section of the competition. This is the time when we get down to the nitty gritty where league's are lost or won. Points thrown away at this stage could be lethal. The last time we came away from the international break we threw the top place in the league away with a poor performance against Hearts. Yes we were bullied but as the boss Stevie Gerrard would say “we have to find a way round whatever the opposition throws at us.” Steven Gerrard and Filip Helander intimated that none of the Internationalists were carrying any injuries and he has a full squad of players to pick from. Jordon Jones has returned to training but Sunday will be too early for him and Steven said that he would expect him to be ready for selection in about ten days time. We travel through to Hamilton to the Hope CBD Stadium, the home of Hamilton Academicals. The last time we played Hamilton the gaffer played Jermaine Defoe up front and he kindly repaid him with a hat-trick. Goldson and Barisic notched the other two goals with Borna treating us to one of his signature free-kicks hitting the ball over the wall and into the top corner of the net. The team that day was: McGregor; Tavernier, Goldson, Edmundson, Barisic, Davis (Murphy 64), Kamara, Arfield (Polster 64), Ojo (Morelos 73), Defoe, Stewart With Alfie only returning from a long Journey on Saturday and after taking part in two games, I actually think Gerrard will go for Defoe again. He may pick the exact same team again with possibly Scott Arefield, dropping out for Ryan Kent as Arfield also had a long Journey, returning from America where his national team, Canada, took a 4-1 hiding from the Americans. Steven Davis may also be rested as he played in two extremely difficult games against the Netherlands and Germany. Joe Aribo could be given that midfield Berth. Hamilton are currently in the tenth place in the league on equal points with Hearts. More worrying for them is that they are only one point in front of second bottom St Johnstone and three points in front of bottom placed St Mirren. While St Johnstone have a worse goal difference St Mirren have a better goal difference. With St Johnstone having a home game against Aberdeen and St Mirren at home to Ross county a defeat to Rangers could see them plunge to the bottom of the league if the other two results go against them. I would imagine that fact will make them keep the game as tight as possible. The referee for the day is Steven McLean 'with Dougie Potter, Drew Kirkland running the line and the Fourth Official is Gavin Ross. Unfortunately playing Hamilton in Hamilton means another run-out on one of those horrible plastic pitches. What a shame the SPFL didn't take the Dutch example and propose to kick them out. I take it that will rule out Jamie Murphy getting a place on the bench. After beating them 5-0 the last time we finished that day by climbing to the top of the League after a Celtic defeat at Livingstone so let's hope Rangers and Livingston can give us a repeat performance and we get back where we belong. You could say hoping at the Hope. I think the team will be. McGregor Tavernier Goldson Edmundson Barisic Jack Kamara Aribo Stewart Defoe Kent C'mon the Gers!!!!1 point

Just simply psychology-tell people enough times that they are only going to get fined, and that they can do no wrong, then the public are habituated. It becomes just noise in the background and the corruption continues. Liewell on European working groups, alleged favours from the Irish connections within UEFA and on committees? Let’s be honest many of our own support are now habituated to the perceived corruption, so what chance have we got?1 point

What a horrible game. I think i will go and watch milk turn it will be more interesting.1 point

Maybe, but why did the Hamilton player not get booked as well?1 point

If it had finished 2-2, it would have been a fair result.1 point

[FT] Hamilton 1 - 3 Rangers. I thought we were very good for an hour or so, and then the performance just fell off a cliff. We were hanging on in the end, until Morelos and Kent took advantage of a rare break.1 point

I feel he's the most potent player we have in those crowded situations. There can look no way through when he just throws in a couple of twists and turns and he's through the crowd.1 point

Imagine the havoc a player called Ryan Ryan could cause....1 point

Players often score soon after I criticise them on here. On the morning of 8th December, I'm going to criticise the whole team.1 point

I still feel the above is correct. When he connects properly, it's almost unstoppable. But, it doesn't happen often enough.1 point

I was just going to quote your other post there, you beat me to it1 point

Aaaaannnnddd.... Kent smashes it into the top corner with an absolute peach. Jackass - He never misses an opportunity to show me up.1 point

Kents' final ball hasn't improved much, he needs to get that sorted out1 point

I think this could be bad news. Gilmour would have been in our first team by now. King may have to wait years to get a sniff at Man C. or L'pool. We must have advisers who can ram home the point that it's not always about money.1 point

That's another thing about youth development, it's a bit of a lottery.1 point
-
It's an interesting point and one I think there's a good argument for it. All I would say is that not every kid who shows massive potential at 15 realises it, and many a kid who didn't look like they'd make it at 15 goes on to have a stellar career. Elfideldo tells of seeing Michael Stewart play as a schoolboy, he turned down our offer and signed for Man Utd, a club with a fantastic record of nurturing talent, but failed to live up to the expectation. I don't know much about the lad King other than he seems to be highly prized, however it's hard to make a strong argument for him to stay with Rangers currently which is a real shame.1 point

Strong line-up, with Davis and Morelos sensibly rested.1 point

It has only happened with one other player, Gilmour, nonsense to suggest we should scrap the youth system, we have a lot of talent in the youth teams who may be good enough for our first team eventually. Also this hasn't happened yet, most 1st contract offers are rejected.1 point

How much does a good grass pitch actually cost to install and maintain? I have no idea of the numbers. The clubs would then moan about loss of income etc. A well organised and well led governing body would make grass pitches mandatory, but could certainly centralise control and maintenance of pitches for those that need it.1 point

A lot of people with reasonable wealth support Rangers. The problem is, there aren't many with stratospheric wealth and even if there were, Scottish football is not a good investment. I have some minimal inside info and haven't heard a thing about significant investment. I wouldn't suggest there's much to get excited about...but hope I'm wrong.1 point

About time something concrete came of Julian Wolhardt's appointment to the board. Otherwise there seems little point to it. I hope there's substance to these rumours but like everyone else I'll believe it only when the board announces it.1 point

HMRC acted mysteriously throughout Whyte’s term of office at Rangers. However I’m sure BDO will do all they can to get answers...1 point
