  2. To be honest he's had a serious injury in each of the past 4-5 seasons. He made 9 appearances last season and they were mostly subs before being injured. If true it's a roll of the dice.

  3. I watched the 2nd half of the NI v Germany match last night. In the half I saw Germany were the better side, they played some lovely football and could have scored more. I believe NI could have scored in the 1st half though I didn't see that. What was striking though was that Northern Ireland really gave them a game. NI should have scored themselves in the 2nd half and they didn't stop pushing and attacking until the very end. Now Germany had the better players and, in my opinion, deserved their victory, but they knew they'd been in a match and had NI got an equaliser you wouldn't have put scoring a winner past them because they had some momentum and were very clearly 'up for it'. The Northern Ireland side has no real stars in it, I mean they don't have a Gareth Bale type player. Their second half subs were the guy McGennis who used to play for Aberdeen and Kilmarnock and a lad from Linfield. Yet they were still able to give Germany a proper match. Northern Ireland support might have left disappointed by the result last night but they won't have complained about the effort or desire on show. I had the misfortune of watching the Scotland v Russia match on Friday. The difference in style, attitude and application was stark. Indeed the difference in support too. The gradual demise of Scottish football is a thread all of it's own, but the inability of Scotland to put out a side that will at least compete and challenge a better side is a disgrace that nothing can excuse.

  4. The director of football can do something about this. He can ensure that knowledge of the good practices of the current staff will remain after they are gone.

  5. The last few days have demonstrated one thing: "No current Scottish Internationals need apply"

  7. Last night demonstrated, to even the meanest, most blinkered mind, that there is a significant difference between organising a team of journeymen to modest success in a League where the standard of opposition is, for the most part, poor, and organising a team of journeymen to compete in a tournament where the opposition is, for the most part, superior in technique, and tactics (and in everything else). The only positive I could take from the performance is that the National XI was able to practice its kick off routines 5 times.

  8. Another licking. Cyprus above Scotland in the table. The problems are so deep routed its probably impossible to turn this around. Everything to a split (anti-Rangers) Fan base to inept governing body to no grass roots. I notice Englands match against Kosovo tonight is being played at Southampton St Marys stadium. They will get a full house with a good atmosphere. As per my earlier post Scotland should be taking matches against Kazakhstan, Russia etc around the country rather than playing in half empty library Hampden. Anyone any idea what the attendance was last night?

  9. It’s Orwellian. Truth is inverted, history re-imagined in our poisonous little Leftist totalitarian backwater. Any Rangers fans out there who voted SNP? Shame.

  10. Scotland 2019! As seen with accompanying photo', you can talk about child rape inside Celtic's hospitality suites. Of course, Celtic the club and separate entity must be paid the necessary fee for the hire of said suite, and another fee for food and refreshments. The separate entity receives remuneration for a situation they in part created. Really, you could not make this up. Further, if you want to talk about child rape in the context of football, then you run the interference of Celtic hired agencies(Radio Clyde) or blank refusal to open the discussion to the Scottish public(BBC Scotland). How does one club effect so much control?

  11. As night follows day ... the cowards at the SFA follow any mumblings of UEFA. As we had it in 2007. Job accomplished, F.A.R.E. - placemen. Now, before the club or anyone associated with it should debate anything with the SFA / SPFL or accept anything, it should be made publicly clear what is considered "sectarian". And after that debate - in public - it should be applied euqally to all clubs and supporters equally. Right now, we seemingly have a rather context-free, new West-of-Scotland definition of "sectarian" that essentially solely means any loyalist, pro-British, anti-IRA songs, regardless of context, meaning and when it is sung and to whom. Once police and authorities startetd to apply the naughty behaviour bill in equal measure, those who pushed it into being - hoping it would only go against us - cried foul and had it abolished. These days, pre-UEFA verdict, Humzah and Co.(nspiritors) started that strict liability campaign, which IMHO has but one aim: demonizing and punishing us and our club on vague arguments with virtually no basis, while leaving the terrorist-minded having their freedom-of-speech singalongs. Club and supporters need to be pro-active here, or else we get f@cked again.
