  1. Anybody else desperate for it to be Thursday already?

  2. Seems to me that there is a 50% chance, of any match played on an artificial pitch, being unwatchable. We should continue to complain until artificial pitches are scrapped.

  3. I don't want him to play for ROI, International football is of no interest to me, it will be up to the young lad who he wants to play for, I just want him to succeed with Rangers.

  4. I'm not sure that's fair. Linfield, Glentoran and Crusaders all have players from the ROI as do Coleraine, Portadown, Glenavon and Institute and all are considered clubs with largely Protestant/Unionist supports. He'd get far more abuse from other team's supports than from ours. As long as he's doing it on the park our support will stand behind him in my experience.

  5. Also I wonder if Jermaine Defoe has had something to do with it as well - he's a role model for any young pro.

  6. The story continues ..... The club that do not do statements, Sellik have issued a statement stating they are "astounded" that Tom Boyd is under compliance officer investigation. Now, Tom Boyd is a separate entity to ra Sellik, even though he is a club Ambassador and works for Sellik TV. I suspect Sellik Peter has fail failed to copy in SPFL Peter and SFA Peter? Of course, Tom could play the, 'I am as thick as shit pouring from the neck of a bottle non-entity' card? True story, Tom was in court a couple of years past, giving evidence against a confidence trickster who persuaded Tom to invest £70,000 in his company, which promised to triple Tom's investment in a calendar year. Thus, if Tom does intend to play said card, he would not be lying.

  7. No chance is a Celtic fan going to join us to sit on the bench (or not make it) all season. He knows he would be 3rd choice after Defoe and Morelos.

  8. I don't know if I'm worse though because I just don't even care. If I'm being honest with myself, I wish I did care more about the national team and I'd really like to think that one day it would have meaning, but for now I have absolutely no interest or emotion attached to it. The only reason I look at any international reports is to make sure none of our players are injured. I can't even think why this has happened. When I was younger I did follow Scotland and got caught up in the emotion of internationals, friendly or otherwise. I had a few bad experiences and maybe that is what turned me against it. I've stood and listened to Scotland fans boo Rangers players which was too difficult to accept for me, but I don't know if that was the biggest reason or just one of many. Maybe it's the SFA, or the miserable performances. I just don't know. Maybe I just like watching a better standard of football than Scotland can offer because I did enjoy watching England in the last World Cup, and I go to see Spain play too. However, I do feel my position has changed slightly this season since Clarke went there. His "bye bye Rangers" comment just makes me want him to fail which is quite sad I suppose, and perhaps petty, but I can't and don't want to change the way I feel for now.

  9. He can put them away with his first touch in the right circumstances. I’m still amazed and grateful we have him.

  10. I think it is the same price as last year as well, maybe £1 more. It is a reciprocal agreement between the two as well, our fans get charged the same at the midden.

  11. I find it bizarre that some of our support want one of our best young Scottish prospects to play for the Republic of Ireland ?

  12. Watched bits of the game on RFC TV, Defoe showing his class like said above. Aribo is a potential star. As mentioned - job done and onto Warsaw.

  13. Had a look at coefficient points today and if we get the same as last season it could lift us from about 200th to 100th-120th. When you see how much easier it makes your draw it really emphasises how important it is. We got lucky with the draw this season again by dodging some really top teams but if we do as well as we can in Europe this season we will be well on the way to being seeded and won’t need as much luck in the not too distant future.

  14. Brophy would be an expensive 3rd choice striker though, but most importantly I just don’t think he’d be remotely interested in joining when he has such a small chance of game time so I don’t think it’s true

  15. The pending admin fantasies are cranking up right now because they feel a real fear that hasn’t existed in sometime. If we beat St Mirren then them at Ibrox to put a little space between us and them even this early the meltdown will crank up several more notches.

  16. Apparently, the Compliance Officer is investigating Tom Boyd's comments reference Referee, John Beaton. Oh well, Alfredo Morelos will be offered a four match ban?

  17. In all seriousness I don't think many would care as long as he does the business for us.

  18. No. It’s not a qualification to be sneered at but it’s not equivalent to s university degree. Having said that, a lot of degrees are no great shakes nowadays.

  20. There would be big questions marks over our summer signing policy if we hadn’t utilised our squad for this game. 10 changes and 3-0 is a fantastic result and in such unusual conditions I don’t think it’s fair to criticise any player.

  21. It’s so noticeable. The “plays on the edge” excuse has finally stopped, he hasn’t changed how he plays he just don’t react like a child when he’s fouled.

  22. Excellent. But will never beat Colin Wanker (Neil Warnock), thats still hilarious.

  23. Interesting results. Villa - return has gone slowly, did they do a Fulham and buy too many players? Newcastle - Steve Bruce will be under immense pressure. Chelsea - They will struggle for top 6, Leicester should have won that game with the chances in the second half.

  24. I get the feeling that Defoe might do a good job for us for at least another couple of seasons. He's going to be 37 in October but isn't your average footballer. This is a man who could be held up as an example of the ultimate professional to our younger players such as Aribo. I heard recently that he hasn't smoked or touched a drop of alcohol in his life while training and eating as an athlete should for the past 20 years. I would like him to stay in a coaching capacity when the time to hang up his boots does come.

  25. Gerrard has brought in players who are taking the team to a new level. It’s hardly surprising therefore that some players who were previously leading our charge should now see themselves challenged to keep up. At least three of last season’s first team regulars are struggling to maintain previous form in current company. That’s how improvement announces itself.

  26. Not many Rangers players have represented Scotland for some time now, but I think that’s largely down to where we’ve been. The longer Scotland are MIA from the major finals the less interest they get from our support too. Hopefully, with us on the way back, we’ll start to see more Rangers players in the Scotland squad. If that can coincide with a better quality Scotland team due to players like Robertson, Tierney, McGinn, Fraser et al all playing well to a high standard in the EPL and you fly talent coming through like Gilmour- I think we’ll emerge from the dark ages and we will support again/more or at least admit to it! For that reason Josh should consider his options carefully.

  27. Defoe is unplayable just now! I know it was only East Fife, but his desire, touch & movement is great to watch, something the other strikers can learn from him, outstanding professional.

  29. We should be making at least 9 changes from Thursday, but that should still be a very strong team. We need to take advantage of rotation against teams like East Fife to keep players fresh and free from injury for Thursday and to avoid burnout later in the season as we did in 2008 and 2016.

  32. Really hope this doesn't happen. It's been galling to see so many Scotland players turning out for a club many of whose supporters cheer for the RoI. It's us who should have the lion's share of Scotland representation.

  33. Even if there is prejudice towards Rangers and their players I will not surrender my support. Hopefully he'll stick with Scotland.

  34. Every time I watch Alfredo this season I'm convinced Gerrard has had him spend the summer on a psychologist's couch, in a manner of speaking. The difference in his demeanour and his reaction to being fouled is huge. He looks a much more confident and happy player, without having lost an inch of his ability. It says a lot for our management team that they've steered his attitude in so positive a direction.

  35. the main aim for mark allen this pre-season should be getting rid of the deadwood who have made little to no impact this season and turn their wages into 2/3 quality players who will improve our starting xi.
