The only way to make this relevant is for us to do our business tomorrow night. Not fuck it up like a certain shower across this city. Come on Rangers.4 points

You are absolutely Joking. Katic was immense tonight and Goldson was a bombscare on two occasions that nearly cost goals. in the 2nd minute Goldson was poor in letting Anderson shoot just past the post. That could have been a game changer. Later McGregor had a great save with his legs after Goldson failed to cut out a cross. Apart from that Goldson was solid but in every game he has bombscare moments.3 points

Our midfield is in complete control here again. We seem to be happy to play the ball out of any trouble and every one of our players seems happy to take and send the ball even in the tightest of situations.3 points

Have been very impressed with him tonight. Perhaps has to work on the defensive aspects of his game but no doubts that creatively and offensively he's more than useful.3 points

Fuck Aberdeen. They have been in our rear-view mirror since the day Gerrard was appointed3 points

What it tells Halliday, Pollster and the youngsters is that they aren't good enough for our midfield currently and that at Rangers we don't accept mediocrity. If we need to, we can go out and bring in better players so either improve or don't expect to get a game. I don't think Halliday or Pollster had any inclination anyway that they'd be good enough for the midfield. They are backup wingbacks. Our youngsters need to recalibrate their ideas as to what it takes to make it at Rangers now. We are on the rise again and if they want to be in our first team, they have to now work even harder to get there. Gerrard has always said that if they're good enough they are old enough. There is a pathway for anyone who is good enough. The simple fact is that they are not yet.3 points

na we shouldn't be focusing on them, they're not important. We just need to focus on ourselves.3 points

Summary is we're now just 2 games away from another bite of the Europa pie. I think the majority view around here pre season was that two consecutive bites at that pie was perhaps a bridge too far. Well here we are again and I suspect the majority view now is that it's within our grasp to get there. If we do it I wont be so concerned about results there. Yes points make us even more money and boost the co-efficient but just getting there is a very welcome and much needed financial boost. But the league has to be the priority. I would rather lose in any Europa group match than 3 points to anybody at all on the Sunday. The league gives us a potential bite at the Champions League pie with £40 million up for grabs and perhaps up to another £10 million to be made from home games in the way of gate money etc. Plus getting there couldn't do our attractiveness to sponsors any harm.2 points

That's more like it. I also thought both centre backs played well. If anything any weakness was more apparent in our fullbacks. For whatever reason, Tav still hasn't fired on all cylinders yet but is slowly getting there, while Flanagans is never going to spend time breaking down the left wing and putting over crosses.2 points

I though Davis did well at times but faded badly as the game entered the final quarter and was caught in possession more times than is healthy. As for Jack, the loss of control of the ball after he went off probably suggests he's currently the keystone of our midfield, not Davis.2 points

Great goal; during the game I didn't really notice Jack's excellent tackle that won possession initially. A goal with three assists.2 points

Only saw bits of the game, excellent result. My main takeaway is Ojo again. 2 assists and another goal. I’m going to continue my Ojo goal count and confirm that his total of 4 goals now puts him only two behind the full season total of the man he replaced Kent. And it’s the 15th of August ? Ojo has added goal threat to our team, he doesn’t play as a winger he plays as a forward and we badly needed that. And he’s by no means the finished article, he can be wasteful. But he’s finding the back of the net often enough despite that. Katic. This seems to be a recurring theme and I’m beginning to think we need Helander fit asap and Gerrard knew exactly what he was doing signing him. Ok Flanagan takes a lot of the blame for the goal conceded, slack pass that allowed them in behind him. But the inexperience and poor decision making involved in deciding to leave your man open in the 6 yard box while you go and attempt to block a cross from out wide, an almost impossible task anyway, no wonder Goldson was furious. The “Katic is our best CB” myth needs to end, he’s a good player that we need to develop. Goldson is our best centre back and we need to get Helander in the team because Katic is making costly mistakes in every game right now. He gets off with a lot of them but he’s cost us several goals already this season.2 points

Well done Rangers!!! Job done and onto the next round. No one will fancy taking us on these days. We look lethal.2 points

Kiddydale St opinion. Midtjylland are the worst Danish team the poster has ever seen and Cluj are miles better. Quickly tempered by another with the insertion of some actual reality. They're melting down over our results as well as their own.2 points

I`m usually a bit hesitant with new players, but if he keeps on like he does of late, we should start putting money aside for Ojo. He and Morelos have been a treat, with Arfield doing muich of the built up. Kamara, Davis and Jack totally boss the midfield ... again. These are the nights when your breast bursts with pride being a Bluenose ...2 points

They could have really taken the piss and launched it at the Piggery with our justice minister on hand to applaud (and ignore it).2 points

The bold Craig or Charles has probably had that on their living room fire by now...2 points

I think this will be a great match tonight, they have to have a real go at us, we need to be on it from the start and I can see a few goals in this one!2 points

A Champions League team? In the two seasons out of six that they made it through, they managed to win once in 12 attempts. They lost 5-0, 7-0 and 7-12 points

You know that Karma has earmarked exactly this lad to score the goal that will clinch 55 now?!2 points

Someone must be! Currently we have 7 first team players who can play in these 3 positions. Aribo, Davis, Jack and then Kamara as the first backup and Docherty the second backup. Halliday and Polster offer emergency cover only and primarily cover full back. I thought that was just right in terms of cover. If Andy King comes in where does he end up in the pecking order? Surely he doesn’t jump ahead of Kamara but how about Docherty? King is 30 and is currently on 38k and missed the second the second half of last season due to injury. I don’t get it. He can’t be fit enough to jump ahead of Docherty surely, but how much of his 38k wages are we paying if he’s 6th choice? Not sure how happy I am about him jumping Kamara or Docherty in the line. A lot of questions to be answered here.2 points

Ballymena hi! We should receive a good welcome there and of course NI football is doing okay currently, champions Linfield went through to the next qualifying round of the Champions League last night. To be fair they were 3-2 up at home with 7 minutes to go, only a pub team would throwaway a lead from there.2 points

Can't argue too much with that. Controlling the game pretty well and taken two good chances that came our way. Funnily enough though, Ojo aside, we've been pretty poor in the final third with Tav, Morelos and Arfield all guilty of giving the ball away in good areas. Defensively though, apart from one dodgy Katic header back, we've been sound and used the ball well from the back again. You'd like to think that's job done but we have to continue to look after the ball, stay focused and hopefully grab another goal or two ourselves.1 point

Ojo taking a bit of a kicking since the start but just picks himself up and gets on with it.1 point

Off topic but I just can't help having a laugh. Sheep 1-0 down on the night 3-0 overall and their very own Ojo red carded after 20 minutes. quote from a sheep forum. Yes he has found his level, and that level is the sheep. He knew that when he turned down Rangers which I will be eternally grateful to him for.1 point

They now need 4 - not happening without us getting at least another 1.1 point

And Gerrard is that daft not to see that within 5 minutes. Aye right! And King is going to be faithful to Rodgers after he booted him out. Aye double right!1 point

I notice McCrorie didn't play for Portsmouth at weekend. He really needs to have a good season at that level to have any chance of making our first team. Barjonas didn't take his chances on loan last season, I don't know if he was injured or just not picked but he struggled first at Bury (a team in chaos to be fair) and then at Raith Rovers. Why he's been unable to push on from his early promise is the eternal question for so many young Rangers players. Barjonas is 20 now and he's only played about 20 first team matches. He needs regular first team football at some level to develop. That's why I'm relaxed about Middleton going to Hibs. If he can break into their first team and stay in it he comes back to us a much more rounded and experienced player. If he doesn't then we know he's not going to make it. Either way let him make his mistakes in Hibs first team. I'm rapidly coming to the conclusion that we should scrap our youth system and simply concentrate on our first team squad. Indeed I'd actually ban all professional football teams from having youth academies.1 point

You and I saw that game very differently then. I thought they looked very comfortable in playing the ball out from the back and they looked terrific going forward. Their movement was really good and we just couldn't keep up with them. I do agree that they looked much stronger but I didn't see any fouls that weren't my awarded.1 point

SG said yesterday at the presser that he has 5 midfield players, Jack, Davis, Aribo, Docherty & Kamara so would ideally like one more. That tells Halliday, Polster and all the youngsters trying to break through that they have absolutely no chance. Bringing King in is so utterly pointless (no resale value, big wages, not better than current players) and goes against everything SG has said about a pathway to the first team for our development squad.1 point

To work with he is an absolute dream, he is so professional, he is robust and he will run through a wall for you. https://rangers.co.uk/news/headlines/niko-is-a-dream-to-work-with/1 point

I said a while ago that if Celtic do not improve their midfield we will have them chasing shadows. Scott Brown doesn't have the legs anymore. Unfortunately that was obvious yesterday in time for them to get new recruits in. Rogic is another who has had his best days behind him. Ntcham doesen't want to be there. Now it looks like more than their midfield need refurbished. Lets hope Liewell and Desmond are counting their bonus's from the sale of Tierney,1 point
