  1. I have no idea why there is so much animosity against Warburton. He tried his best which wasn't good enough but why so many fans hate him is a mystery to me. What happened to the magic hat?

  2. Barrie McKay was superb under Warburton, he's able to get the best out of him, that's a good move for QPR and the player. Personally I hope it works out for Warburton and all the ex-Rangers players at QPR. For various reasons it didn't work out for Warburton with us, but he got us up playing very watchable football and gave me one of my most enjoyable ever matches that day at Hampden. Good luck to him.

  3. I'm a big fan of Barrie McKay and tbh I think we've missed what he offers since he left. Hope the move works out for him.

  4. How many Catholic Primary Schools do we have to play before we get to play non-denominational schools?? Actually a quick read of their website tells me they were very closely associated with their local church. It's terrible when football clubs are associated with religion, I expect the Scottish press to roundly condemn them...

  5. Wallace deserved some form of recognition from our directors, whatever happened in the dressing room at Hampden. Like it or not Wallace hung around when we were demoted, he could have earned more down south, it curtailed any international aspirations he had and led to him playing against sides no better than Junior level during the peak of his career. He was also the club captain and made over 190 appearances for us. I've yet to read him bad-mouth the club in public either. I do think expecting someone from the board to take a minute to thank him for his service and wish him all the best for the future isn't asking too much.

  6. Todays bounce game with New Saints finished with a 1-0 win (Defoe) https://rangers.co.uk/news/headlines/gers-beat-tns-in-friendly/ Interesting take from it is the two sides put out for each half and if there are any clues for future team sheets ? No Morelos, anyone know why ? First Half XI: McGregor, Tavernier, Goldson, Edmundson, Barisic, Docherty, Davis, Aribo, Ojo, Defoe, Jones. Second Half XI: McGregor (Firth 75’), Polster, Flanagan, Katic, Halliday, Kamara, McCrorie, Candeias, Hastie, Stewart, Murphy.

  7. Spot on @JohnMc, although it was very frustrating that he failed to learn any tactical options or variable formations, when it worked it was lovely to watch, and a penalty shoot-out win over the bheasts at Hampden will live long in the memory, whcih of course included a screamer from a certain Barrie McKay.

  8. Good luck Lee and your dignity is intact more than that of the hierarchy who tied SG's hands in the matter.

  13. I think the team let him down. I still recall the video of the chances he created; numerous gilt-edged chances, that no one could put away. I wonder what he'd be like with better quality around him? Defoe, Morelos would stick them away. One of the most talented players we've seen in a Ranges shirt in years, for me. I'd have him back in an instant.

  14. I think he found a black and white striped shirt as evidence in Gerrards bag but it was later reported stolen.

  15. I've seen the documentary mate, thoroughly enjoyable watch. Highly recommend the book (he has two biographies, I am reading the first one right now) - obviously I cant speak to him as a manager but what absolutely shines through the guy is his winning mentality - I read a fair number of biographies and his determination to succeed is as elevated as almost any book I have read. Comes across as being someone that would elbow his kid out the way to prevent the kid from winning

  20. I think they have a new artificial pitch. It was on the UEFA website that the pitch was perfect. https://www.uefa.com/uefaeuropaleague/season=2020/matches/round=2001145/match=2027528/match-info/index.html?iv=true

  23. No doubt about it but given the date, this is a great chance to discuss what still remains a nuclear topic and I'm sure the lads will do a great job of doing that and also spend some time on our first EL qualifier as well.

  24. Delighted to say all our usual contributors will be returning for the new season as well as a few new voices. Well-kent RFC community polemicist @D'Artagnan will be joining the team and author of several books on the club, Iain Duff will also bring his fantastic knowledge of the club's history to our weekly debates. Journalist and current Head of News at the Dundee Evening Telegraph David Wren will be another new face and help us all navigate through the maze that is Scottish media landscape. We'll also be looking to provide more preview shows ahead of games and, technical challenges permitting, we may even be live outside Ibrox with team news and more on match-days. Feel free to throw cabbages and other rotten veg at @Govan Rear Bear if you spot him recording.

  25. Somewhat surprisingly, St.Joseph's will go into the game against us next week undefeated in their last four European matches and on the back of what seems to be their first ever European competition win. At this stage of the season, it won't be anything fancy but it'd be encouraging if we could put the tie to bed before the second leg.

  26. Literally just finished reading it last night, in his own words, in his first autobiography. The very two chapters where he discusses it in detail.

  27. Forest made the choice to get rid of O'Neill. The directors always have a choice when a manager is totally out of his depth. If the directors believe that meekly accepting an abject performance and not having players make a huge issue then they were correct in their actions.

  28. footballtaxhavens.wordpress.com 2019 ….in years prior to June 1994 Accounts and Creative Accounting in 1993 Accounts. In the previous post it was highlighted Celtic’s deception in investigating the impact of the numerous child abusers that existed between Celtic FC and Celtic Boys Club whereby the board instead of secretly investigating contingencies should have been keeping the AIM stock market informed. Another period ripe for investigation are the years 1993 and 1994 when Celtic’s finances were dire resulting in Fergus McCann saving Celtic at the last minute. He took over in March 1994 so he had his hands on the wheel when the 30 June 1994 accounts were declared. 29. I'm pretty sure most Hibs fans don't want their board cosying up with us. Bridge building isn't for me either.

  31. Wallace spent eight years in Govan, sticking with the club through their spell in the lower leagues. But, speaking on talkSPORT, he says he was snubbed by Ibrox chiefs after his exit. Asked if he had been wished well by any of the top brass at Rangers, he said: "In top brass you mean the hierarchy at the club? "No that wasn't the case and I'm not too disappointed in that, it was to be expected. "But there are certain parts of the club that are what they are and that's a small fraction. "Everything else was incredible for me. Even last season although I never really played under Steven Gerrard he was fantastic and what a learning experience for me. "Michael Beale was incredible - he was fantastic for me. "Steven Gerrard has made a big impression on me being an aspiring coach and the level of detail I could take from the guy was incredible. "I trained and was given a fair crack at it and I'm thankful." https://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/sport/football/4435850/lee-wallace-rangers-hierarchy-snubbed-him/
