You are ignoring that we have an additional 7 players that we have signed, 6 if you exclude Davis. The saved wages you mention above have probably already been eaten up by the new signings.3 points

Would it come as a major surprise if the police, the judiciary and half of Holyrood were up to their necks in the same sordid game?3 points

I wont click on any links to Sun/Record but this sounds interesting. Will be interesting to see if it is just an ex-pat Hibbee buying them, or someone who genuinely thinks they can challenge the OF by throwing some cash about on better players. Could be Hibs now become the 3rd best, they were not that far away even under popcorn-teeth, so I suppose with a good manager (not sure they actually have one ATM) and some investment this could be interesting. On the political side of things, I hope we are getting in touch with the new owner to let them know all about the bheasts dominent position in Scottish football behind the scenes and see if we can have an ally to try to even things up a bit, for the sake of all the other clubs. I know, thats a very long shot.2 points

Wallace deserved some form of recognition from our directors, whatever happened in the dressing room at Hampden. Like it or not Wallace hung around when we were demoted, he could have earned more down south, it curtailed any international aspirations he had and led to him playing against sides no better than Junior level during the peak of his career. He was also the club captain and made over 190 appearances for us. I've yet to read him bad-mouth the club in public either. I do think expecting someone from the board to take a minute to thank him for his service and wish him all the best for the future isn't asking too much.2 points

I’ve only seen fragments, most of it of a fairly low standard and the occasional bit of good football. Wouldn’t pay to watch. Never last 90 minutes. Anybody watch a lot of it? How good/bad is it?1 point

footballtaxhavens.wordpress.com 2019 ….in years prior to June 1994 Accounts and Creative Accounting in 1993 Accounts. In the previous post it was highlighted Celtic’s deception in investigating the impact of the numerous child abusers that existed between Celtic FC and Celtic Boys Club whereby the board instead of secretly investigating contingencies should have been keeping the AIM stock market informed. Another period ripe for investigation are the years 1993 and 1994 when Celtic’s finances were dire resulting in Fergus McCann saving Celtic at the last minute. He took over in March 1994 so he had his hands on the wheel when the 30 June 1994 accounts were declared. Hibs and Rangers had a pretty good relationship during the Curtain v Five years until Rangers let them down when Hibs were pushing to get celtic banned for flying the tricolour. Might be capable of restoration if there enough new brooms at Easter Road1 point

Correct, are we supposed to believe that directors routinely gather to wish outbound players the best or hand out the binbags. Classic Sun/Daily record bullshit. But so long as there are people around willing to lend them credibility ....1 point

So the headline bears little resemblance to the tone or full version of the interview, no change there then from our gutter press. I dont know that Directors/Shareholders would be very involved with players at all at any club, to the extent that they would be in contact with outgoing players.1 point

The other side of the coin is that Rangers will only remain loyal to Gerrard as long as he produces the goods. Gerrard may have a bit extra leeway due to his past history but if push comes to shove his head will roll just as other managers who didn't fulfil the expectations of the club.1 point

Wallace spent eight years in Govan, sticking with the club through their spell in the lower leagues. But, speaking on talkSPORT, he says he was snubbed by Ibrox chiefs after his exit. Asked if he had been wished well by any of the top brass at Rangers, he said: "In top brass you mean the hierarchy at the club? "No that wasn't the case and I'm not too disappointed in that, it was to be expected. "But there are certain parts of the club that are what they are and that's a small fraction. "Everything else was incredible for me. Even last season although I never really played under Steven Gerrard he was fantastic and what a learning experience for me. "Michael Beale was incredible - he was fantastic for me. "Steven Gerrard has made a big impression on me being an aspiring coach and the level of detail I could take from the guy was incredible. "I trained and was given a fair crack at it and I'm thankful." https://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/sport/football/4435850/lee-wallace-rangers-hierarchy-snubbed-him/1 point

Still no axe to grind with him. Not always my favourite, but he came here and did his job 100 %, helped us through the leagues and ... I reckon anyone of us on here in that dresssing room after the 0-4 would be in prison now, rather than being ostracized by the club. We never really know what happened, but a club official should have been there on that last day, no matter what. Comes with dignity and stature, IMHO.1 point

The problem with footballers and football managers is their unwavering self-belief. Every manager who has gone in at Newcastle in recent years has believed they're capable of 'turning' them into a force again, Gerrard is no different. Gerrard's relationship with Benitez being strained Gerrard might just fancy showing he could take Newcastle further than his old boss could. With Gerrard's family still in England a move south is almost certainly something that will happen at some point soon. Gerrard is smart enough to know that if our season starts badly, say we're put out of Europe early, lose in the League Cup and drop league points and find ourselves trailing that he'll come under pressure. His current elevated status among our support won't last long if we're losing away to Motherwell and Livingston again. All that being said unless there's been a fall out with our board I can't see Gerrard moving this summer. He's demonstrated throughout his career a degree of loyalty that's uncommon today. Okay, it's easier being 'loyal' to a club who are one of the biggest in the world and that are consistently challenging for honours, but it's still fairly rare. Based on nothing but my opinion I think Gerrard would like to win the league with us and have a crack at the Champion's League. If those two things happen I expect we'll struggle to hang onto him.1 point

The Newcastle link is probably opportunistic clickbait, 2+2=5. EPL clubs have tended to go for foreign experience of late,...... but if Lampard was to do well at Chelsea it might make a chairman or two to seriously consider Gerrard, if we make a good start to the season....2 if's and a might = long odds.1 point

Here's a snippet from the BBC article about the Brazilian striker... Brazil forward Marta wants to use her record-breaking status to "push for more equality and women's empowerment". The 33-year-old scored her 17th World Cup goal in a 1-0 win over Italy on Tuesday to become the all-time leading scorer at men's or women's finals. "The feeling is a joyful one, not only for breaking the record but for being able to represent women in doing so," she told BBC Sport. Brazil's win puts them through to the knockout stages in France. Marta's second-half penalty moved her ahead of Germany striker Miroslav Klose, who scored 16 goals. "All the teams here, we are all representing [women]. Let me be clear, this is not only in sport."We are trying to represent women and show how women can play any type of role," she said. There you go. That sums up modern (third wave) feminism to a tee. A woman scoring a few goals at a world cup is suddenly going to empower all women and bring about worldwide gender equality. Bollocks!1 point

Is it SG launching a bid or The Sun re-launching the now customary and established sure-fire clickbait story on Skrtel to Rangers ? An experienced centre-back to put beside Goldson does makes sense. However, I don't think it wise to go into the season looking to regularly rotate the central defence. It didn't work out very well for us last season. Pick the best combination and stick with it.1 point
