  1. I'm offering to drive him to the airport before anyone changes their minds. I didn't like him the first time, and definitely didn't want him to come back.

  2. If it is, he'll find some way to blame Morelos.

  3. John Mason’s comments are absolutely disgraceful. If his party leader did her job properly instead of constantly pursuing indyref2 he’d have been sacked long ago not just for these comments but previous comments too. No one is asking him to join him in a vendetta by one half of the old firm against the other. But as a Glasgow MSP he has a responsibility for the victims of the abuse which took place within Celtic over almost three decades at various times. He has to use his position to ensure they get the justice to which they are entitled. My own view (and I suspect many others also) is that he is unwilling to fully commit himself to this in case it jeopardises the ‘catholic vote’ to which his party is heavily reliant

  5. That goes without saying but i'm pretty much taking that for granted. Euro football seems to suit us better than SPL fare and maybe that's hardly surprising since the manager wasn't familiar with SPL football but has vast experience of Euro football. The team was good enough last season to not just play in a difficult group but to be competitive in that group. So, taking it for granted that with a potentially even stronger team we can negotiate QR1 I feel that starting there is in our interests. Gives us the financial benefits which are more than welcome and two competitive games under our belt for a sterner test in QR2.

  6. Craig once said that one can call a spade a spade if it is one. So with regard to the above, it would be Mostly Scum Minded. Meanwhile, cwoodloyal over on FF said this today: Been told Ojo and Edmunson are done deals. And But until I see them paraded at Ibrox then I will stay cautious.

  8. It boils down to throwing in most of (if not all) the chips... in a bid to win the title back within the next two seasons. IIRC projected budgets are dependent on European group stage football in 3 out of 5 seasons. They are probably dependent on a close to continual capacity home attendance. As well as directors and others financially backing the club when need be. Qualifying for EL groups last season was a massive boost in the ST and the loyalty of the support and backing from directos & others has been fantastic. Retail should be producing more but we all know how slow and difficult the legal process is against Mr.MASH. The issue going forward is keeping the show on the road and I come back to throwing in most of our chips to win the league back. My hunch is that the 2019/20 season is when we have to take advantage of circumstances and do the business.

  10. Some of those English stats are astonishing, no way is that sustainable. As for us if the figures are correct then that's not great reading, however the issues around merchandise are a contributing factor and something our directors are aware of. We clearly need to get our income up as I suspect our wage bill will rise this summer, that's inevitable if you want to sign better players. That said the costs involved in paying off Caixinha and some of the signings that didn't work out might be included in those figures. I suppose this comes down to trusting our current directors to protect the club and not overreach.

  11. Celtic do have a much larger wage bill than we do but their revenue is also much larger. It depends significantly on European competition participation and player trading. As it stands, they have several players who could be sold on for decent money and I'd guess that they'd be looking to move on at least one that produced an eight figure (or close to) transfer fee per year. What that translates into is that we have to catch-up, rather than waiting for or expecting them to suffer a significant reduction. Until we win the league, it'll be extremely difficult to make more than they do in Europe. Even winning the league is only halfway to the CL group stage. Player trading is where there is more opportunity but only if we can significantly improve our own players on a consistent basis. Something that I have yet to see in nearly 50 years of watching Rangers.

  13. A final potentially ruined by location, UEFA didnt do their homework properly. Not to mention a match where one player cant even travel. Countries with these type of issues shouldnt even be allowed to bid. This match should have 20000 of each support in the ground instead 6000 tickets were handed back. I do fancy Chelsea as they seem stronger and have Hazard who can win any game, plus Arsenals defence is worrying. They also HAVE to play Leno, go with the best team and no sentiment over Cech who is going to Chelsea next season. But if Arsenal play both Lacazette and Aubameyang then its game on especially if Ozil has a good game. I hope Emery springs a surprise like this. Leno Mustafi Koscienly Sokratis Monreal Xhaka Torriera Kolasanic Ozil Lacazette Aubameyang Come the Gooners.

  14. A fair winner for Tav. McGregor has been outstanding since returning but Tav has taken the mantle of a captains role. Morelos too many red cards for my vote. I still went with YPOTY Kent - for a 20 year old to come north to new surroundings and fit in with blinding performances I think he deserved a vote. He has the world at his feet with the right coaching.

  15. Yes, the draw for the first and second qualifying rounds is on Wednesday 19th June (the CL draw is the day before). We will play in Q1 and will be seeded for that and Q2 should we qualify (as will Aberdeen).

  16. Well Tav won this poll, got the nod from our podcast contributors and is well clear on our Twitter poll (well over 1500 votes so far).

  19. I think it is but it generally doesn't work. I'd prefer the club spent the money elsewhere - wi-fi is an unnecessary luxury when you're at a football match.

  20. I think it's safe to say there's no way Villa or anyone else would be bidding £10m for Ryan Kent if he hadn't had the benefit of last season with Rangers. Which makes me wonder of loan contracts are ever structured to provide the likes of Rangers with a share of any significant sell on value? Just a thought.

  22. I reckon that article has two fundamentals wrong. 1. Date of draw for EL 1st & 2nd rounds is 19th of June (not 18th) 2. By far the most important, according to Bert Kassie, we have to play in QR1.
