  2. Why shouldn't they? They are doing what young people do and should be allowed to do it in peace.

  3. I see what you did there. You've changed a reasonable "safer" into an impossible absolute "safe".

  5. We should have won something this season, Celtic have been poor.

  6. If I could choose anyone to be in charge of that lot when Gerrard guides us to 55, it would be Neil Lennon.

  7. Wow! They must be totally skint. Although with the tidal wave that’s coming, he is the only reptile that would touch the job. Oh happy days

  8. I haven't seen much of Gray but he looked different class when he scored that hat trick against us for Burnley in a preseason friendly.

  9. I know its early in the silly season, and the window isnt even open yet but I have been entirely underwhelmed with the names being linked, and indeed signings made as I dont see any of them being first team players or any better squad players than we already have. Jones, Hastie, Stewart (seems to be happening but hope it hits a snag), are not going to win us the title. Same for guys like this latest Liverpool kid who cant set up or score goals despite looking good in the tricks department, no thanks. I trust the management team to get us to where we need to be by the time we play our absolutely vital Euro qualifiers in about 7 weeks time, I just wish all these guys we keep getting linked with would get the juices flowing a bit better. I see in this thread we are linked with Andre Gray. Another inconsistent sort who would make Morelos look like Messi. Gray, on top form, is a good striker. However he rarely hits top form, seems to be often injured, and is reportedly on a wage that has completely spoiled his hunger and desire. I desperately hope we dont waste a huge chunk of our wage budget on an imposter of this scale. I really dont want us even looking in the over-rated, over-priced English market. We can get much better value in other markets with good contacts and scouting, which has improved at the club enormously in the last year or so.

  10. Was that not John Whyte, compo? When you see photos of Law at Huddersfield he was just a speccy wisp of a lad right enough.

  11. Two cracking games this weekend. Sunderland v Charlton on Sunday, Villa v Derby on Monday. Ha’way the Lads. Come on Villans. I think it’ll be Charlton and Derby.

  12. A repeat of the '56 final. I hope you're on a winning run, compo. However, I would probably put my house on Separate Entity FC winning comfortably.

  13. Absolutely, I would think a holiday somewhere with a certain degree of anonymity might be the preferred choice , but hey, what would i know.

  15. That is why they have no transfer value. It does not state who has left the club. I will give you Klassen it was indeed 27 mill euros. Not really important on the point on order though. the point being that very few players actually come through the whole system or they have been scouted by another professional team first.

  16. I've no particular dog in this fight but I do think you're being harsh on Ajax here. Feyonoord didn't make it to the Champion's League semi-final playing some sensational football whilst defeating Juventus and Barcelona along the way. That's what makes Ajax so appealing to old duffers like me who are hacked off how a handful of Spanish and English sides can simply buy anyone they want and dominate football. It's great to see a side we can realistically hope to emulate doing that. Also, when you add in former Ajax players like Eriksen, Alderweireld, and Vertoghen being in the side that put them out as a neutral you have to say as a club they're pretty impressive. I'm sure it pisses off some Dutch (and Scots apparently) but Ajax have a mystique about them, since the 70s they consistently produced world class footballers, even when they themselves weren't doing anything on the international stage, their alumni were. Plus that banner when they last played Celtic, clearly not fancying a 'special relationship' and letting them know it made me laugh.

  17. Thats just utter nonsense DB, to choose that one error when referring errors like on Sunday, Easter Road (twice), and player errors like Worrell at kilmarnock in jan which took all our momentum away are much more responsible than that. Given what Tav has provided at the other end, to pick out that one costly error (and it is not as if it was an open goal from that moment, we had other opportunities to prevent that error becoming a goal) is being overly critical.

  19. Window opens on July 1st. Wee sidenote from the article above ... player out of contract at Liverpool at the end of the season: Daniel Sturridge (29) James Milner (33) Connor Randall (23, RB) Alberto Morena (26, LB) Probably all on silly wages. As for Sheyi Ojo, he`s been in France and for all the nifty goals and assists above, he played 19 games and has a goal and an assist to his name from that journey. TM says he`s out of contract at the end of the season (the report above suggests that he is to sign a new deal), so who knows. Seyi Ojo at TM He could be another Ejaria, doing well in Europe and some Premiership games, but ultimately not built(up for this league. Or another Kent, who took his time but adapted and grabbed the chance he was given. I`m not so sure whether we should lay too much weight on talented loanees this summers, guys who have to find their feet in the game AS WELL as at a club like Rangers and in our current hammerthrowing environment. Granted, most players will have to adapt to the demands at Ibrox and we still have quite a few in every position able to handle that. When we start looking for that extra bit of quality, I would hope it is "experienced" quality.
