  2. I think the word is refresh. They'll almost certainly have a new manager and quite a few new players. Whether that converts to improvement is another thing.

  3. If we can get 2 wins out our last 2 games, we end up on 81 points. We got 70 last season. A goal difference this season of +54 compared to +19 last season shows a huge improvement too. We havent actually scored too many more goals (3 more to date) but we conceded 50 goals last season compared to 25 so far this season. We made our biggest progress in Europe. After the Progres embarrassment, this year was a magnificent achievement, and was on the verge of being even better. Matching this run next year is vitally important. I wont listen to those who try to claim our Euro adventure affected our league chances. We were level on points at the split, a few weeks after being eliminated, so our failure to win the title is in the Euro-free second half of the season. We simply didnt strengthen properly in January. We brought in a striker and didnt play him, and a midfielder who was miles off the pace and has only started to play once the title had long gone. We didnt bring in the attacking midfielder we have been crying out for since well before SG came in, and our hopes of breaking stubborn teams down died with that decision. The domestic cups is where the SG report card has its big red marks on it. Losing twice to Dolly, one at Ibrox no less, was simply unacceptable. The two performances were abysmal, and this always lands at the gaffers door. To lose once to Dolly in the LCSF was bad enough, to lose at Ibrox in a QF replay is simply awful, the worst result of the season and a real blow to us all. It is in this area that SG must improve next season. OF games can be a 50/50, so if we lose to the tims in either/both cups next season, that can happen, but what must not happen is to lose to anyone else in a cup-tie next season. I will be looking forward to our transfer market activity this summer, there are 4 key positions I want to see strengthened, in addition to replacing anyone we lose to good bids. Left-back (although if todays story that Barisic is up for it and SG/him have no beef then that would be fine for me), a CH to cover to Goldson/Katic, a creative midfielder, and a striker on the basis we pretty much know Morelos is away. If we can improve other first 11 players then great but we simply must get these positions sorted first and foremost.

  4. Clancy is a Rangers-hating bellend, and I think I predicted this after his stitching up of us in the cup v Dolly. We should go full Willie Collum on this cheat. We will have to be so much better than them on Sunday to take anything with this cheat in charge.

  5. Maybe we should have Lisa leading the chorus pre the game on Sunday and at HT ...

  6. It's good because I think he'll be badly missed by Aberdeen. There was a case for him but on reflection, I'd prefer we go with what we already have, Greg Docherty.

  7. Liverpool deserve something from this season and since it looks as if City will probably narrowly snatch the title this is the only thing left in their own hands. They deserve something not just for one of the great CL comebacks but for their play and sheer doggedness over the season.

  13. A few things cost us the title but Worral versus Kilmarnock is the biggest imo. The fact we never recovered from that says a lot about the overall character but that’s where we are and what we must fix. No more kids on loan like him learning to b a footballer in vital positions. It’s not rocket science. Gerard will fix it.

  14. It's strange because I would never want to lose to that mob - but if we were to lose to them they may be more likely to employ Lennon permanently and I don't think he's that good a manager. The situation almost reminds me of when we beat them in the Cup Semi - they realized we were back in the top flight, were capable of beating them (at least in a one off game) - so they splashed the cash for Rodgers. Had we not won that Cup semi they may have stayed with Deila and that would have been a bonus for us. I'm getting similar feelings about Lennon.

  16. Yeah, I don't think we will get 7 figures for an injury prone player with 1 year left on his contract. Best to just take whatever we can get and let him move on.

  17. It was a sparse gathering in the PQ Gang Hut yesterday. Of course, Big Dick trapped, Al Lamont watched Sky's live coverage on the box and commentated as live. Both John Rankin and Cammy Bell fought to add comment over the canned crowd noise. Post match was similar to last Sunday, eight minutes and end of football coverage. Big Dick was in raptures over McGregor's latest transgression, he read out a list of all Rangers' red cards this season. He ended with, "that has been coming all season, he deserves it". The next breath had him asking both Rankin and Bell to agree with his conclusion, "Rangers deserved their victory, didn't they"? A couple of sentences and Big Dick handed over to Take the Floor. Oh, and no post match interview with Paul Heckingbottom. Before the match, before Big Dick lead the Pantomime players in the latest BBC Scotland 'as live' production; there was a conversation on that evening's Manager/Player/Young Player of the Year awards. John Rankin has a huge future ahead of him at PQ. He thought a Rangers player would win one of the categories. Big Dick was intrigued and dismissed Morelos because of disciplinary reasons. Big Dick remembered rehearsals and asked, "what makes you say that John"? Rankin, obviously relieved not to be questioned on Queen of the South's fall into Championship play-off survival, or the fact that his manager, Gary Naismith had been sacked; spouted a line of pysh that had the Gang Hut cheering, "every dressing room I've ever been in, has a number of Rangers supporters". John's prophecy was correct, Ryan Kent won Young Player of the Year and it was all those Rangers supporters in dressing rooms that delivered the accolade. It wouldn't, couldn't possibly be the lad's talent? This morning's Scottish Sun provided the following information, which proves that dressing rooms full of Rangers supporters are an ill-disciplined lot. In the last forty-two seasons, the Player of the Year award has been picked up by a Sellik player on 23 occasions. Rangers players have won the award on 10 occasions, less than a quarter. The Young Player of the Year has gone to Sellik players on 12 occasions, then it's Dundee United on six, Hearts and Rangers on five respectively. Our success in YPotY is a tad over 10%. While we are on this roll with the constant stream of pysh emanating from John Rankin's mouth. I would like to add, in two seasons where Rangers managers won the Treble, Jock Wallace in '77/78 season and Alex McLeish in '02/03; the Manager of the Year awards went to Billy McNeill(Aberdeen) and Martin O'Neill(Sellik). Rangers supporters in every dressing room, what are they like?
