But that ain’t the problem. We fail against Aberdeen & Kilmarnock etc. because they sit in and defend hoping to get us on the break or from dead ball. Celtc play more attacking style which suits us more. We really need someone to unlock a packed defence, not easy to get or cheap.4 points

I should not post this, it being the 1st of April. However, I am flying back from Mallorca late afternoon and prefer to hand out the plaudits before my ageing mind forgets. I watched BBC Sportscene this morning. Mikey Stewart played a blinder. He absolved Scott Brown of any wrongdoing, despite being integral to three of the game's flash points. Jonathon Sutherland mentioned Gerrard being the subject of sectarian chanting, then showed Ryan Kent palming off Broonaldo. Mikey was unequivocating, "the Compliance Officer will take action on that". The sectarian chanting aimed at both Gerrard and Jimmy Bell was NOT worthy of a Mikey monologue on strict liability, in fact he ignored it. I am positive our Justice Minister, Humza Yousef will do likewise, despite sitting in those comfy green leather seats of the north stand. Jonathon was most agitated about pitch invasions after Rangers goals at Livi' and St Johnstone; he ignored a Sellik Steward being injured in yesterday's game, due to Green Brigaders spilling over. Humza will ignore this too, he was too busy celebrating himself. Strict Liability is going to require considerable elasticity, to ensure those in green'n'grey hoops and Dandy Dons singing about Gerrard/Bell/Ibrox Disaster are not strictly liable; you cannot always rely on awkward and inconvenient evidence being lost by Humza? Finally, a BIG shout out to Big Dick. After driving back to my pied a terre, I switched on BBC Radio Scotland through my satelite connection; to hear Big Dick purring over the actions of Scott Brown. He chuckled, recalling, "he is a player enjoying himself, Scott Brown doing the Broony". Getting your kicks by proxy! Only seven months to go, but I foresee the PQ Christmas Party being regaled by all our favourite broadcasters paying necessary homage, 'a mass Broony'. Well, it's either that, or another Mikey Stewart monologue on strict liability. PS : Did anyone at PQ think Tav' should have been awarded a penalty?4 points

Only in terms of squad depth, which has been a concern this season. In terms of first-team quality, probably not too much. The added benefit is it weakens the teams around us; I'm all for that. Kent's out of our reach, financially; I'm not too bothered if we get him or not, to be honest.2 points

I had a discussion with an associate who, whilst being a reasonably intelligent guy, follows them ardently and is brainwashed to their cult group think. I seen his head almost explode though when bringing this one up on him: He was banging on about Israel and I questioned him as to why he hated them so much. Him: “Israel is a foreign invader and have no right to be there, it’s not their home land”. Me: “So if a group of people aren’t indigenous, they shouldn’t have the right to set up home somewhere else?” Him: “no, it’s shocking, they way they persecute the Palestinians who are the true people of the land is shocking too”. Me: “you do realise that Celtic and their fans are the Israel of Scotland?” Him: “what absolute rubbish”. Me: “Well the Celtic fans with their hatred for the country they now reside in and alleigance to Ireland makes them the non-indigenous people, say, invaders. They have no wish to assimilate with the local people or their customs, they openly discuss the ultimate goal of wiping out the indigenous population and support violence against them. In what was does that make them different to what your perceived hatred of Israel is based on?”. Him: “The Irish had to come over because of the potatoe famine. They had no choice”. Me: “So the extermination of millions of Jews in the world’s worst case of ethnic cleansing isn’t justification for finding somewhere new to live?” Him: TIMPLOSION Celtic - The Israel of Scotland.1 point

How the lego muncher impresses referees:_ 1) Sly kick to cause retaliation referee smiles and gets Morelos on the cheap. 2) Laughs and mocks surprisingly!!! missed by officials. 3) Studs shown tackle it's okay it was just his style. 4) Antogonises away support never mind just "high spirits". Just some of an endless list.1 point

I know what you mean, but I think Liam Kelly has proved that he was good enough to be trusted to be number 2 when he was here but we preferred Jak Alnwick who has no scope for improvement and no sell on value. We seem to sticking to the same strategy, buy in some older keepers to fill a hole rather than let young players fill in now and again. Surely McCrorie can't be that bad that we'd rather spend 300k-500k a year on a 27-28 year old to warm the bench instead? Is playing the Championship better experience than being number 2 to McGregor? Is that going to prepare him better for stepping up? I'm not convinced. McCrorie is 21 and he's 6 foot 4, he's not a boy anymore and maybe a taste of first team action would work for him as well as it did for his brother, who only got in after an injury crisis if I remember correctly. It's the same old debate about how our wage kitty is best split up, for me we should be spending more on our best players (allowing us to sign a better calibre of player) and less on at least some of our squad fillers to allow our young players to actually get through every now and again.1 point

Hard to argue with Stewart on a free. Underwhelming maybe, we’d all prefer some 21 year old African hotshot with an un-pronounceable name who is the next Sadio Mane. But we could have done with him this season, a player with creativity that we have often lacked.1 point

I think Liverpool indicated they don't want him to go on loan again; they want a permanent move. They value him at £7M. Even if we could afford that, I don't think he's worth it.1 point

Manners maketh the man, as my late mother would say. Kelman is still around and still writing, as far as I know. Whether he is enjoying a continuation of his literary moment in the sun is open to debate. The bizarre juxtaposition and relevance of the article make it worth discussing. That much is obvious.1 point

It's never easy discussing a game you've just been beat in but I do find speaking about it helps ease the pain a wee bit. Thanks for your time and balanced commentary as always! Thank's for a decent listen lads ! ------------- Regards European qualification and entry point, Ross mentioned that 2nd place may get us into the 2nd round of qualifiers. According to Bert Kassie, that isn't the case. I think 'stonewaller' is the term to use for Tav being brought down. Our record against Top 6 plus Motherwell (A) now stands at 6 wins in 21. There remains 7 games against that same opposition and if we maintain the record, it'll be 2 wins we'll get. Whilst on stats, a more important one is that despite the above, we are 6 points better off than 3rd place. It was encouraging to see the manager being able to lift and organise the 10 men to a fighting second half performance. It was also very important for SG that he did that because had we capitulated as in seasons past, the headlines would be as much about him as they will be about Morelos. Morelos being suspended may actually work in our favour in the short term.1 point

Gregory Vignal was co-commentator on RTV and I was impressed with his passion. 2nd half was much better and at stages yesterday we looked like the team playing an extra man. At first glance with Jacks chance I couldnt believe his effort but from the other angle it came to him a bit awkwardly, he didnt get a chance to turn on it. But that would have been the one that changed the game. McGregor immense again, some amazing saves. The one he tipped round the post from Tiernay was top notch. I hope we can still squeeze 2 more seasons out of him.1 point

Great. Why can't Morelos learn not to leave himself open to this? If he pulls up and holds his ankle then the spotlight is on Brown.1 point

https://www.heraldscotland.com/sport/17540563.chris-jack-celtic-captain-showed-a-lack-of-class-with-old-firm-celebrations/?ref=rss Chris Jack: Celtic captain showed a lack of class with Old Firm celebrations By Christopher Jack @Chris_Jack89Group Senior Sports Writer Celtic's Scott Brown at full time after the Ladbrokes Scottish Premiership match at Celtic Park THERE is a way to win and a way to lose an Old Firm game. On Sunday, Scott Brown showed just how not to mark a derby victory. The midfielder might relish his role as the pantomime villain whenever he steps on the park but the faux hard man act got old a long time ago. He has been around the game enough to know what kind of reaction his gestures and actions towards the Rangers fans would have as Neil Lennon’s side clinched a derby win that all-but secures eight-in-a-row. While Rangers were out of the top flight, and while they have struggled since they returned, Brown and his team-mates have swept all before them in Scotland. With no credible challenge from Ibrox, Celtic have racked up the medals with ease and Brown has been one of the main beneficiaries of the monopoly in our game. It is understandable that this derby win meant a lot to the Parkhead captain but the role and profile he has comes with a responsibility. And that means he shouldn’t be milking it in front of the away fans like he was within seconds of full-time. At 33 and as a veteran of these combustible Old Firm fixtures, Brown really should know better. Quite why his first thought was to try and wind up or antagonise 800 Gers supporters when there are 60,000 Celtic fans around the ground is beyond comprehension. The melee that marred the end of the game only happened because Brown wanted to taunt rather than celebrate. It was classless. Brown will have the last laugh when he lifts the title but it was no surprise to see Rangers respond like they did to an unnecessary celebration.1 point

On the plus side this result may see Lennon get their job full time. I think he’s a shite manager so hopefully they keep him. when down to 10 we were the better team, comfortably IMO, and looked the more likely to score again. Thos result will do nothing but paper over the cracks for them. They’re garbage but we make them look better than they are at times. Gerrard’s a smart guy and having now had a full season will know exactly what we need.1 point

There is a monotonous regularity in talking heads appearing on BBC mediums, having a gratuitous pop at Rangers/Rangers supporters, then rushing to claim victim status. Well done Nicola, just over a week, and to claim victim hood on the morning of an old firm game too. Nice bit of symmetry.1 point
