On the plus side this result may see Lennon get their job full time. I think he’s a shite manager so hopefully they keep him. when down to 10 we were the better team, comfortably IMO, and looked the more likely to score again. Thos result will do nothing but paper over the cracks for them. They’re garbage but we make them look better than they are at times. Gerrard’s a smart guy and having now had a full season will know exactly what we need.5 points

On the HT review they show the slowmo where it is clear there is NO CONTACT when Alfie throws the elbow, so Brown has clearly dived and cheated. Not a feckin mention of it, too busy slaughtering Morelos again. I'm not defending Morelos here as he should never take the bait there, he should dive clutching his ankle and force the referee to book the scumbag (it is of course a red card offence but that is never going to happen!). The mhedia onslaught towards Morelos though while all the time defending the utter utter scumbag that is Brown who is standing laughing his head off at how he has conned the officials again and won the game for his team is just nauseating. Gerrard has to come out after the match and absolutely tear Brown a new one, calling him for everything. Then in private he can slaughter Morelos.3 points

There is a monotonous regularity in talking heads appearing on BBC mediums, having a gratuitous pop at Rangers/Rangers supporters, then rushing to claim victim status. Well done Nicola, just over a week, and to claim victim hood on the morning of an old firm game too. Nice bit of symmetry.3 points

https://www.heraldscotland.com/sport/17540563.chris-jack-celtic-captain-showed-a-lack-of-class-with-old-firm-celebrations/?ref=rss Chris Jack: Celtic captain showed a lack of class with Old Firm celebrations By Christopher Jack @Chris_Jack89Group Senior Sports Writer Celtic's Scott Brown at full time after the Ladbrokes Scottish Premiership match at Celtic Park THERE is a way to win and a way to lose an Old Firm game. On Sunday, Scott Brown showed just how not to mark a derby victory. The midfielder might relish his role as the pantomime villain whenever he steps on the park but the faux hard man act got old a long time ago. He has been around the game enough to know what kind of reaction his gestures and actions towards the Rangers fans would have as Neil Lennon’s side clinched a derby win that all-but secures eight-in-a-row. While Rangers were out of the top flight, and while they have struggled since they returned, Brown and his team-mates have swept all before them in Scotland. With no credible challenge from Ibrox, Celtic have racked up the medals with ease and Brown has been one of the main beneficiaries of the monopoly in our game. It is understandable that this derby win meant a lot to the Parkhead captain but the role and profile he has comes with a responsibility. And that means he shouldn’t be milking it in front of the away fans like he was within seconds of full-time. At 33 and as a veteran of these combustible Old Firm fixtures, Brown really should know better. Quite why his first thought was to try and wind up or antagonise 800 Gers supporters when there are 60,000 Celtic fans around the ground is beyond comprehension. The melee that marred the end of the game only happened because Brown wanted to taunt rather than celebrate. It was classless. Brown will have the last laugh when he lifts the title but it was no surprise to see Rangers respond like they did to an unnecessary celebration.2 points

That, his vile challenges and even if he wrecks a player on purpose as he did against Ross County, he gets his red card reduced. He should have recieved a yellow for his part in the Morelos incident ... you can actually see how long he "thinks" before making that tackle. Yes, Morelos reacted, which he shouldn't - and that may hamper his career - but Brown can essentially do what he wants in the Scottish game. Then there is the Simunovic incident, when blatently floor Oli Shaw and did not even get a yellow. If the CO and SFA do not act on this, they clearly show an impartiality that can't be tolerated.2 points

Disappointed we lost today but realistically the league was gone a few weeks ago. Our domestic problem this season hasn’t been the yahoos but Sheep, Killie & Hibz. We’ve played them all in total 15 times I believe this season so far & just won 3 times. We need to start winning a lot more of these games. The yahoos games take care of themselves. The 3 games against them this season has shown the gap has narrowed significantly. We will be ready for them next season I’m sure2 points

Hugely frustrating game We killed ourselves with ridiculous distribution That Tav pass will haunt me2 points

Now that you mention it, I think that is very accurate! The big man is never going to be a top defender when he cant win a 1 on 1. Thankfully he leaves in 7 games time. Yes, i'm on full countdown mode now to the end of another ineffective trophy-less season. Improvements have been made, but the old failings are still there and are getting magnified more and more as the cost of our squad and wage bill increases.2 points

What? Kamara was one who showed composure on the ball and did not give it away once. Davis, for all his few seconds, set up a brilliant chance near the end which Jack, Arfield and Co. didn't manage all game? Defoe hardly got to the ball? It was them on the park those last 10 minutes, when we had them under the cosh? In fact, I had hoped that all three were on at half-time.2 points

And Brown let off again. He was goading the Rangers support at the end and Halliday took him to task.2 points

My arse. She hade her say and social media allows others the right to reply. Rightly or wrongly.2 points

Have not seen it but from the comments we have a CB-RB and CF who can’t be trusted for one reason or another. That’s the managers call to trust them and have them in there. Not good enough in all honesty.2 points

So, so frustrating. Obviously I didn't see the first half but we did very well after half-time, got the goal our play merited then went on to throw it away with Tav passing to no-one for reasons known only to himself. Far too often this happened this season and the manager must be as annoyed as us with this crazy gifting of goals.2 points

Brown finally gets booked for a shocker of a high studs first challenge on Arfield. Of course had he been booked for his aprt in the Morelos red he would be off.2 points

Let's hope for some racist/sectarian chanting which will allow Gerrard to bring the side off.2 points

Great. Why can't Morelos learn not to leave himself open to this? If he pulls up and holds his ankle then the spotlight is on Brown.1 point
-
I think he's at the end of his tether with Morelos as perhaps many of us are too. I wanted Alfie and his goals to stay another season but I don't see that happening now. Rough estimate he may be out for up to a quarter of the league season due to bans and we could be down to 10 men for 4 or 5 games. That's unsustainable if we're going to win a league. Realistically the league was already gone before today and this was as much about pride as anything else. Despite everything I think we came out of it with our pride intact and are now just preparing for a better season in 19/20.1 point

I think he's going to reimburse the fans ticket money from the Buffaloes two weeks fine1 point

Good spirit second half. Should have taken a draw. No criticisms of any player for second half performance. Tav error was only really bad point but apart from that he had a good game and helped drag us back into it. Kamara very composed coming in in that atmosphere and looks a decent player. Worral is hopeless. Constantly giving the ball away and should have done better at first goal. Goldson not the player we thought he was. Morelos - what can you say but he probably has to get out of this league for his sake and ours. Next season he will get another batch of reds if he stays. No question about it whether they will be deserved or not.1 point

As I said, someone needs to put Brown straight for all his vile behaviour. Should be cited by the CO for nearly causing a riot. Scum, utter scum.1 point

Good post. It's nice to read about the positives--of which there are a few. Worral is starting to remind me of Cardoso 1-on-1.1 point
-
We must have some sort of clause with Forest the amount we play Worrall. So many times, I've thought Gerrard will drop him and give someone else a run. But at the most it is one game and he's back. He has had good games for us, especially when he keeps it simple. But like when we drop him. It's one game then it is back to the poor performances.1 point
-
Sickening result. However, it proves that--despite how crap some individuals are at times-- we can batter this team when we're at our best.1 point

Brown has won them the game with blatant cheating. In a balanced world, that would be the major discussion point. His kick at Morelos, followed by a dive holding his face which wasnt touched, won them the game. Not one of our players went through the ugly chunt for the rest of the game apart from Kent and that was only to get the ball back to take centre. How he has been allowed to walk off the pitch unharmed should lead to every single one of our players hanging their heads in shame. I fully expect SG to not mention Brown at all in his post-match, when it should be all he talks about. Shift the focus to this cheating low-life and watch the mhedia come out blazing to defend the indefensible.1 point
-
That was some game. We've learned that we are only a couple of players away from competing if that's the main competition. They're a poor team and we gifted them goals and a man advantage. Bring it on next season.1 point

Kamakazi defending yet again has cost us the game here. 1-2. Absolutely shocking pass fromTav, but Worrell is just useless at defending.1 point

Wonder if Bobby Madden will add 6 minutes at the end like at Dens if his heroes are still only level?1 point

Kent showing up their defence for what it is, absolutely garbage. A fantastic ball through from Tav for him to run on to, beats 2 or 3 bheasts and a cool finish into the corner. Should shut them up for a few minutes.1 point
-
Brown's a classless, cheating prick who went down holding his face after Alfie clipped his chest. But Morelos is an absolute moron for falling for it as he can be relied on to do every fucking time. Grim viewing in other respects. we can't be as careless with the ball and expect anything else but a skelping.1 point

Morelos needs to learn to cheat like you say. The media witch hunt has worked on everyone, even our own supporters it seems!.1 point

Away with my daughter at an athletics event so missed the first half. Can't wait for the second period! Will this team show some fight with ten men or capitulate. (PS: I'm not expecting any answers)1 point

If each one of our outfield players doesnt puts Brown 10 foot up in the air at some point in this game, then fine the feckin lot of them.1 point

When Morelos feels anything like that he needs to go down. Brown's thrown himself to the ground, giving the ref an easy decision.1 point

Probably a red, to be fair. Played right into Brown's hands. Brown knows what he's doing with the little dig.1 point

I think that's the best starting XI available. - bench lacks attacking options (Lafferty instead of one of the midfielders for me) - hope Jack and Arfield are close to 100% We know what this team are capable of, it's now all about hunger, determination, attitude and application.1 point
-
I think most people would have expected that line up. I know I got it spot on. Not what I would have went with, but was pretty sure this would be SG’s pick. Which Rangers will turn up today in a must win game? That is much much harder to predict. Let’s hope it is the same side as turned up in late December, and we put these rhats in their place.1 point

FYI Alfredo Morelos signed another extension that runs until 2023. https://rangers.co.uk/news/headlines/alfredo-morelos-signs-new-contract-2/ --------------------------------------- Looking at the lists in the OP, there are a lot of players who probably won't have much further involvement with the first team whose contracts run until summer 2020. The cumulative wages involved will be a fair old sum and although football clubs will always have to run with a certain amount of excess, it's a relatively high amount that unless we move some of them on willingly, will handicap us regards available budget. I'm happy with the 2 deals thus far (Kamara & Jones), relative quality at a good age for a low fee. Some of the speculation seems to be doubling up but better to wait and see what materialises.1 point

The younger fans love stats for me the only stat that counts is to finish one goal ahead of the opposition and inside men as I still call them are like the gun loaders in an artillery battery. Just watched a clip of gazza playing for ten minutes yesterday pity we couldn't have him for ten minutes today1 point

Should clarify we have offered Hastie £4k a week, will cost us £350k He hasn’t signed yet so anything can happen But it is done in terms of everything from our side, what happens next is anyones guess1 point
