  1. Disappointed in the boy. If he can't hack it here then it doesn't bode well for the future. He was doing OK until recently and was often a first choice on merit. He's let himself and us down.

  2. If you go through the list of young players we've had on loan from 'big' English clubs,...............you have to question the policy when set against developing your own players.

  3. The problem is that it's become very predictable and in the vast majority of cases, it isn't working. Ryan Kent is the one (current loan) that so far bucks the trend but a judgement on his season still has a way to go. I don't like the idea that loan players from certain clubs need to get X% of minutes and more importantly, I doubt some of our own players like it either.

  4. Gerrard v Lampard in transfer battle seems like too much of a convenient double rumour for a rag like The Sun.

  5. Steven Gerrard has called on Rangers to return to winning ways when they host Hamilton in a "very important" game on Sunday. Having been top of the Scottish Premiership earlier this month, Rangers have since lost to Aberdeen, drawn with struggling Dundee and been knocked out of the Europa League after a 1-0 defeat to Rapid Vienna. "We have had a tough week in terms of results, so we need to get back to winning ways," said Gerrard. Steven Gerrard says his side will need to be at their best to beat Hamilton in the Scottish Premiership as they aim to return to winning ways "The Hamilton fixture becomes very important to us and it is important the players understand that. "Emotions are always running high in the dressing room, the media and the terraces after a couple of bad results so it is important we get back to winning." Rangers won 4-1 when the two sides met in October. Team news Rangers' Alfredo Morelos is suspended but Daniel Candeias returns from a European ban. Ovie Ejaria's involvement is uncertain after manager Steven Gerrard admitted he would be holding talks with the "unsettled" on-loan Liverpool midfielder. Ryan Kent (hamstring) is still out along with long-term absentees Graham Dorrans and Jamie Murphy (both knee). Match stats Rangers have won 14 of their 16 Scottish Premiership games against Hamilton (D1 L1), including each of the last two by an aggregate scoreline of 9-4. Hamilton's only victory against Rangers in the Scottish Premiership came in their last visit to Ibrox in November 2017 (2-0), having failed to win any of their previous six away matches against them in the competition (D1 L5). Rangers were beaten 1-0 by Aberdeen in their last Scottish Premiership game at Ibrox, ending a run of 10 home league matches without defeat (W9 D1) - they last lost consecutive home fixtures in the top-flight back in March. Hamilton have lost four of their last five Scottish Premiership games (W1), failing to score in each of those defeats. James Tavernier has been directly involved in eight goals in his last eight appearances for Rangers in the Scottish Premiership (3 goals, 5 assists). https://www.skysports.com/football/rangers-vs-hamilton/preview/391243

  6. If we don't get him, someone else will. If he doesn't cut it 400k is not the biggest gamble. On the other hand, if he scores goals in the SPL for Rangers then you have an asset on your hands.

  7. Still think we have nothing to lose by bringing in the young guy from Ayr United. He's mobile and can grab goals in the penalty box. Can't be any worse than Lafferty?

  8. I'm really starting to get rather tired of our insistence on cross after flippin cross. It doesn't work. We really need to be more inventive in the final 3rd

  10. Chelsea got a win Arsenal's unbeaten run came to an end and the German one bested the special one . Liverpool are now starting to look like title contenders .

  11. I won't hold my breath for Humza tweeting about this issue. He does, after all, frequent yahoo slophouses when he's on the campaign trail. He is Celtc-Minded, so will prioritise Celtc's reputation over justice for sexually abused children.

  12. He had just signed a 5 year deal at Liverpool before arriving with us, so I don't think that's it.

  13. It's an odd one, as a fan. Ejaria and Coulibaly have the talent but McCrorie and Docherty have the effort. I think the best teams are a good mix of both. You won't win with just effort and the same goes for talent.

  17. Funny how folk see the same game differently. My abiding memory is him not putting airfield through on a one on one. Put it another way 21 corners another 15 crosses and he’s nowhere apart from one header. They didn’t all hit the first man. I saw him not reacting to possible chances in the box by not getting between defenders and the goal for example. If we want goals he has to do a lot more imo because he could have got a few today given the possession.

  18. Disappointing performance. To answer the question about what lafferty needs to do to score he needs to improve his movement massively in the box. He’s like a telegraph pole. I as watching him closely today and he was very poor. Not getting any quality in crossing or final pass but even with better quality there he isn’t the answer. Compare him to Naismith.

  19. Loan deals have a terrible success rate and invariably do more harm than good. We should stop indulging in them unless we have an option to buy.

  20. Decent win today although I would have liked more goals. We had to win after them losing at Easter Road and we did that so job done. Morelos being back on Wednesday will boost us but we will have to play a lot better to beat a strong Hibs side at Easter Rd

  21. Notable that a starting XI without a loan player put in a real shift today. McCrorie, who needs more gametime to get fully up to speed, brings a much needed commitment and drive. I hope he wasn't injured today. Barisic brings balance and quality and again more gametime will help him go to another level.

  22. After the first 5 minutes I thought we would score at least 5. As time went on it became increasingly obvious that we wouldn't score again. Decent performances from the midfield trio. Grezda and Barisic looked very good down the left also.

  32. I’ve noticed on Twitter now that the common answer for an MSP response when they even acknowledge any post to them questioning their thoughts on the Paedophile Ring that operated at Celtic Park is; “I’ve not heard of that, please email me”. Now, I’ve seen two very high profile cases of this recently. Firstly is from Humza Yousaf. This man is the SNP’s / Scottish Justice Minister. If there is anyone that is supposed to have their finger on the pulse of the courts and high profile cases, then he’s your man. So he apparently doesn’t know about the case. If he’s somehow missed it, then it’s gross incompitence. Just yesterday, Hannah Bardell, the SNP’s Sports and Media spokesperson upon questioning by Helene Gray (mother of Celtic victim Andrew Gray - also same scenario for Yousaf) denied knowledge of the case(s). Again, for someone who is supposed to be focussed on Sport and Media, you would think they would be aware of the ongoing conveyor belt of paeodphiles being convicted, all operating out of Celtic Park. But, alas, no. Again, is it incompitence? Surely the chances of both high profile SNP MSPs in such prominent relevant positions can’t be that poor at their job that they miss these multiple recent and current cases? It is of note that on these two cases, it wasn’t the previous stock response of “ongoing case, can’t comment” opt out. It is also worth noting that Ms Burrell also copped out by noting that the questioner, Mrs Gray, wasn’t in her constituency. So even though she’s the Sports spokeswoman, she isn’t willing to take a question about the biggest scandal in sporting history as the complainant isn’t her constituent. So the real question is - have the SNP got a party policy that upon pressure to answer this question they simply reply, “I’ve not heard about this, please contact me via email?”. Surely that must be the case? The previously mentioned “ongoing case” opt out is no longer valid. Even more sinister, the pressure for these Ministers to avoid this topic must be so great that they are more willing to publically humiliate themselves and tarnish their professional reputation by publically feigning buffoonery than to even discuss what is all over the papers. Why are the SNP so keen to kill this story? If the SNP are to ever even consider getting votes from a large proportion of Scottish society, they must be seen as acting in a transparent and fair manner, and they are currently completely blowing any signs of acting in this way out the water. Again, it is sinister.

  33. I can remember when the old centre forwards would have twentysomething goals by Christmas and no clubs would bat an eyelid now someone scores a dozen and all are interested I wonder what it would be like if there where still scorers like Forrest, McGraw or McBride still in their pomp .

  35. The timing of this makes him look really bad, unless there are serious personal issues that we don't know of? he should have stayed and completed the rest of this months matches up to the winter break!.

  36. "We are hopeless from corners." Could that simply be because we're hopeless AT corners? Tavernier has to be the worst corner taker but keeps on taking them. Results from corners could only improve by getting someone to take them who has some idea how to do the job. Seriously, it can't be as difficult as our captain insists on making it.

  38. The lesson should be that we don't chop and change as much (the financial situation can't support that anyway). That we don't throw playerrs under a bus after two bad games or a loss of confidence. We got quantity in the summer (it was required), we now need to allocate funds towards quality. Short-termism is our biggest enemy.
