  1. This really annoyed me. On a day when our display of gratitude towards the fallen spread across the stands and made me feel proud as punch, at the start of the second half the UB completely embarrass themselves, and therefore the rest of the Rangers support, with that "motherwell grasses" banner. I hadnt a clue what it referred to. If the story in this thread is true, then one of the UB has run over another person and not reported it. No matter the provocation, you cant do that. If the roles were reversed and a young UB member had been run over by, frankly, anyone, I would want the incident reported and let the law take its course. If there were mitigating circumstances like being fearful for your life in amongst an angry mob, then make your case surrounding that. The banner makes them as pathetic as the Hibs fans who claimed Wallace was a grass for seeking the protection of the law from unlawful actions by scumbags.

  2. It’s strange because it was the same against St Mirren. He was poor for most of that game but came closer than anyone to scoring with a great shot just before coming off. He looked like he’d finally got into it. The same yesterday, from about 55 minutes onwards he looked a totally different player.

  3. He was poor for the first 30mins or so but you could see he was growing into the game and the goal he scored will do wonders for his confidence. He's actually not dissimilar to Jamie Murphy so he will bring that same extra dimension to our play.

  4. In terms of Saturday's game, obviously the penalty and red card were key decisions and I'm still in shock Craig Thomson (no friend of Rangers) gave us two decisions for a change. Despite this, the team played well either side of the penalty and I was really pleased we didn't get involved with Motherwell who, as usual, tried to drag the game into a physical contest. Instead, as we should do in these games, we kept the ball, moved it about well and beat them convincingly with an excellent team performance. I thought Tav, Arfield and Jack were the pick of the bunch and it's no coincidence that when Tav plays well, the team does too.

  5. Shameless bump Another wee factoid Much has been said about the Group stage Thursday/Sunday routine costing us points but I had a peek and it's yet to cost us a point. It might have played a part in the semi-final defeat to Aberdeen but I'd say it was more the lack of a decent dentre-forward that told. 6. Stewart made a right cnut of himself last night and not only over our penalty decision.

  7. Rangers scored 7 goals and Celtic none so they had to show a number of Celtic goals so as it sticks in peoples head. A Celtic publicity stunt.

  8. What was that Celtic montage all about before their highlights on Sportscene. I was also disappointed to see that they failed to tell the full story in regards to the Motherwell red card. They focused on the two yellow card offences but did not even show the challenge that happened in between that could have seen McHugh sent off.

  9. On Motherwell: little more than a pub team on steroids. On Craig Thompson: he exerted some degree of control over the antics of the visitors, which was necessary, and which too often, in the past, has been lacking from his game management. He was not perfect, but he surprised me. On Rangers: for the most part played football and left 'Well floundering in the wake. Of course the game was against 10 men for an hour, or so, but how many times have we seen teams, including our own, flounder against a physical side with a reduced complement? The players stuck to their tasks, played around the opposition, and my main gripe is that they did not reach double figures. On Morelos: it appears that Freddo has now become fly to it. It does seem strange to suggest that it has taken time for a South American to acclimatise to the dark arts of Scottish fitba', its brutality, its cynicism, its play-acting, and, of course, the poor standards generally displayed by its officials. On Sunday: at least twice, Motherwell players clattered Morelos, and the perpetrator of each foul, joined by others, immediately presented a pantomime for the benefit of the referee, indicating that our centre forward had dived. I don't mean the usual hand signals and resigned expression, but a full on flouncy am-dram production, with the obligatory diving motions, with the screaming of imprecations at Freddo, with the arms raised skywards , with the eyes rolling in their heads, with the feigned looks of utter disbelief, and all with verbal harrassment of the referee, beseeching him to change his, correct, call. Histrionic behaviour of this kind is actually worse than simulation itself. It, surely, cannot be categorised as part and parcel of "The Man's Game" in which we are told we compete, when we complain about continual and extreme foul play, in any, all, of its guises. Of course, the young lad Atakayi being injured by some practitioner of "The Man's Game" was a major blot on the day.

  10. I thought we had much more joy through the middle too because we used the width of the pitch much better with Halliday and Middleton on the left.

  12. I don't understand why someone is either 100% crap or 100% brilliant in the eyes of some fans. For me, Goldson has been our best centre half by some distance (anyone who thought he was off form recently clearly didn't watch the Killie game) and it's just a case of finding his best partner. In that sense, Katic has been hard done by in losing his place but injury has played its part there. Worrall seems inconsistent - just as he starts playing better, he's starts to looks ropey (again the Killie game) but generally I think he's useful to have. Then, yesterday we see McAuley make his defensive debut (let's not count a corner in Russia) and he strolls through the game looking very impressive (albeit against ten men). All things considered, I think we're quite lucky to have four good centre halves and it's up to the manager to pick the correct two and, for me, stick by them. However given the sheer number of games coming up, all four will play their part.

  13. Great result, the whole team played very well and very clinical, fantastic to see young Atakayi get on but obviously shame for the lad to go off so soon. Don't understand how fans can moan at anyone after that result they all played their part IMO ? Motherwell used to be decent not so long ago but they've just turned back into the usual over physical long ball side, thought the Ref did well today but still let them away with a lot, don't see how McHugh can moan at any of his bookings!

  14. Desperation to make it big as a pundit after never really getting out from behind the black ball as a player. Only thing, is that what I think he's actually presenting to the nation is one of the main reasons why he never made it as a player. #Gobshite

  16. Today Katic looked nervous and short of confidence, maybe from playing beside Tav as I think he normally plays on the left. Re Tav it is not the first time a central defender has been left exposed therefore this could be the problem.

  17. Arsenal and Chelsea..oooft. Man Utd though, they just arent at the races. On paper they have an awesome team. Arsenal must be laughing about Sanchez, he was always going to get burnt out with playing consistant summers. And City must be laughing also, they were going to sign him! Yet Aguero is about 4 years older and blowing him out the water.

  18. I listened to about three minutes in the car before turning it off in disgust. I'd rather not know that listen to that sneerfest. The question I was left with was ... why would any Rangers supporter with an ounce of self-respect listen to the BBC, let alone campaign for Rangers to make gestures of reconciliation to the weasels at PQ?
