A big opportunity missed there. I didn't see the 15mins after half-time live but the two goals we conceded were ridiculous. The manager has to pick a back four and stick with it. Enough chopping and changing.7 points

An excellent statement from Rangers on the matter: https://rangers.co.uk/news/headlines/daniel-candeias/ Unfortunately, the usual commentators will prefer to lampoon Rangers' paranoia instead of looking for a more informed disciplinary process.4 points

I don't think it's that unpredictable. There will be various scenarios covering European cash and domestic cup runs but it wouldn't be too difficult to have a worst case and an expected scenario, and even a few others if required. Largely anything that has happened this year should be covered and if we do something unexpected like qualify for the group stages then it's just a bonus. Most companies have a degree of variance in their business models and it shouldn't be too difficult for someone who knows their business to manage it within their overall strategic plan.4 points

Aye, right enough. Makes perfect sense. Get shot of them all 4 months after a new manager comes in. Yep, we have the money to do that too. Anyone agreeing with the above is clearly willfully ignoring the absolute dross that Gerrard inherited and the fact he has had ONE transfer window to put it right... As well as that, he hasn't had that much time to work on them in training as the games have been 2 or 3 a week since July/August. Honestly, this post is absolutely baffling to me.3 points

Some game - very entertaining. Both teams giving away soft goals but don't underestimate some of our excellent interplay on the counter which should really have us at least two goals ahead. Don't ask me to guess the final score and unfortunately I'm going to miss most of the second half.3 points

Many of us have called for pressure to be applied on the SFA and officials so I for one am happy with the statement. Those who have a pop at us, as usual, will only reveal their own agendas. Meanwhile, we stick to our own agenda.3 points

Holding back here because of the recent ‘political warnings’ but if that’s the message coming from the leader of our country, we truly are fucked.3 points

There isn't a business I know where a cancelled order, a significant bad debt, an unexpected resignation, a change in export legislation, a swing in FX rates, new competitive technology, or any number of factors, can have an impact on projections. Which is exactly why companies take weekly or monthly soundings in the form of financial variance reports. Many businesses have to cope with unpredictability, football is no different and there's absolutely no basis for football clubs adopting less stringent management oversight. BTW if you have any interest in business I'm not sure Dragons Den is where you'll learn anything. It's a highly scripted entertainment show.3 points

You're of course entitled to your opinion dude. But you can't honestly believe this? It almost feels you are being purposefully obtuse and not looking at the bigger picture.2 points

Our great performances in the EL has been our main improvement this season. If it weren't for that our domestic form would be getting far more criticism.2 points

Eh ? Their 4th goal wasn't from a cross at all - you been on the beer ? Their 4th goal the guy broke through the middle of the pitch right after kick off and smashed it from the centre of the goal (with the help of a deflection)…...2 points

For the third season in a row a team was thrown together at the start of the season. The first two bombed. This one got to the EL group stages. if that isn’t progress what is ? And this team will get better with additions over the next few seasons2 points

I wouldn't worry too much about it Ian. When people are moaning at us losing away to a team like Spartak Mosco by the odd goal in 7.... you know we have made progress.....2 points

That was one hell of a first half , loving the wide camera shot as you're getting a more proper view of the whole game.2 points

The manager has picked the team, we all would pick different teams, they are all capable if the play their best, let's just get behind the team, this will be a very, very tough match regardless of who is picked.2 points

Unlike Sadiq or Grezda he has scored for us before, which is in his favour, and maybe his time away will have given him a new perspective on things, who knows ?2 points

I think the club have boxed clever with this one..... The incident was clear - Candeias did absolutely nothing wrong. I don't think there is a single "expert" or pundit out there that believe he deserved a yellow. As clear a case of the Ref getting it wrong as theres gonna be. So the club challenge it. Even though there is not an actual mechanism to challenge a 2nd yellow, the club used the "mistake identity" clause. The appeal was NEVER gonna be successful & the club knew it. What the club did get from the process was the chance to confront the Ref face-to-face & to question directly. The ref had no option but to state that it wasn't a case of mistaken identity as there were no other Gers players there, and he did in fact book the opposition player as well. Therefore the Ref must have seen "something" to warrant a card - even though there wasn't anything. Therefore the ref got it WRONG. This then lends weight to out request for a rule change and a closer look at the behaviour & quality of the Refereeing in Scotland.2 points

I don't think Ennio Morricone would get a tune out of Carlos. He basically retired from top level professional football a while back, didn't share it with his employers and still pulls in the money.2 points

Good strong statement that undeniably has right on it's side. It'll keep the headlines rumbling on and bring pressure to bare ! Well worth the 1,000 pounds !2 points

I am hoping the fact Spartak will need to open up a bit might suit us but, conversely, we may end up consciously sitting too deep (ala Celtic and away at Villarreal) which isn't really playing to our strengths. As much as they're a good team, we need to try to play as far up the park as we can and counter effectively; maintaining possession and using the ball well is a must to avoid being put under pressure.2 points

Isn't it strange how we can watch the same matches and yet have completely differing opinions?! For me, Kent and Morelos are our two best players, and by some distance. Kent is such an attacking threat, and is an excellent role model for Middleton, because he is disciplined at defending and varies his attack. Middleton is a very good prospect, but I don't rate him anywhere near Kent at the moment. His movement is too one-dimensional for me. He is fast and if given the opportunity he will exploit that pace down the wing, but against better quality players he just won't get that opportunity. I obviously hope he plays a blinder tonight and then gives the manager some tough decisions, but for me Middleton still has a long way to go before he dislodges Kent from the team.2 points

Game of emotions and hard to judge. Could have ended 6-6 for all the narrow misses, saves and shots off the metal. Bar some bad touch by Goldson (saved for today, one might say) and better man-marking by Tav, our defense was rather solid. Ejaria needs to be flogged if he ever tries dancing his way out of trouble around our own area again (just ahed of their equalizer). Even their last goal came off a deflection. So fortune was wily today. One might cite Morelos off-side goal, which would probably have killed them. One may point at a ref again - handing out valid yellows in the first half, but then did not following them up with 2 or 3 professional foul - yellows in the second. But giving Morelos the yellow for not even really complaing about the foul (that never was) which he "conceeded". At the end of the day, all it shows that this team out there is very well able to rub shoulders with millionaires like Spartak (2 or 3 of them alone cost what we spent on our entire squad) or Villareal. That should be the predominant feeling, IMHO ... and what a step forward at that. Middleton should get that left-side slot. Tremendous job today!1 point

I would assume SG and Co. will run the rule over him and see whether he's up for it, on and off the field. He would need "close control" with the latter and has to agree to it.1 point

You can speculate all you like about the reasons for the SFA upholding Collum's decision but the upshot is everyone outwith Rangers will conclude the referee is vindicated and Candeias deserved to be sent off, which he clearly didn't. So the next referee who doesn't like Rangers is encouraged to take any daft decision he fancies. I don't believe there was no scope within the SFA's powers to rescind the yellow card and football would have been a whole lot better if they had.1 point
