If you read his follow up tweets it certainly comes across as agenda-driven. Lennon got hit by a coin at a Hibs v Hearts game. Nothing to do with Rangers, nothing to do with Gerrard and most certainly nothing to do with his film. Lennon claims sectarianism. Gerrard has been in the Scottish game for 5 minutes so, again, why would he comment on something that he has no need or desire to acquaint himself with ? I note Jenkins wasn't going to ask (or was unlikely to ask) any questions about the sentencing of Torbett yesterday in Scottish football's biggest scandal for decades, possibly ever (and, yes, it is FAR bigger then our admin and liquidation event). Why not ? That incident is as relevant to Gerrard as the other ones I mention above... that's right, it also isn't relevant to Gerrard. Gerrard is nobody's fool - he is smart enough to realise if he is being pushed down a narrow corridor where his only end result is a loss or tarnishing his image. Well done Steven Gerrard for having the sense to simply not show when you suspect that a hatchet job is about to take place.4 points

I find a lot of this thread very interesting, and it just shows the various assumptions that some of us can make about people based on their voting preferences. Even when I did vote for any party (many many years ago), I don't know what anyone could really take from it, unless they knew which specific policy drove me to vote for them. Are people so entrenched in a particular party that these assumptions are reasonable? I've seen statements on here saying that the SNP supporters are anti unionist, and that they are republicans, etc. Really? I understand a lot of people are, but it's too much to assume that the majority are. I've voted SNP (along with many other parties) in the past but it was for very specific policies that were important to me at the time. So what would you call me? I could be regarded as unionist because I prefer being part of a United Kingdom. But I could be anti union since I want to leave the EU (but please don't get me started on that can of worms). I have to say though that if I thought an independent Scotland would be better, I'd vote for that in a referendum. I don't, so I don't. Having had such a landslide victory at the polls for the SNP a few years ago, those that believe that all SNP supporters are pro independence would have expected a clear victory in that regard at the referendum. That didn't happen, so why do we persist with this desire to lump people together in simple boxes? That doesn't make sense to me. My point is that it is surely almost impossible to know much about someone based on a box they tick at the polls. Having said that, I create my own box which reads "None of the above" so I agree that tells you a bit about how I think, but let's leave that aside. What I can tell you is that I am not thinking about my role as a Rangers fan when I'm at the polls and doubt many people are. Instead they'll be thinking about their families, job, health, wealth, and other such issues. Equally however, I think people DO think about how trustworthy (or not) certain politicians have proven to be, and vote accordingly. It's for that reason, and that reason alone that I think many voters will turn against these moronic politicians who spout such open bias or lies. The problem (as I've found) is who to then vote for. Maybe the reason so many people turn out for referendums and yet so few for general elections demonstrates that people ARE politically minded, but they just dislike career politicians. Its funny how quick so many people are to condemn others (especially fellow fans) for voting SNP. If you consider the injustices perpetrated by Labour and the Tories, are any of their voters able to take a moral high ground? I wouldn't think so.4 points

Well done, Gerrard. That's the way these sort of 'journalists' deserve to be treated.3 points

At PQ, it's always cake and eat it time. The PQ gang hut was alive with excitement, ripe opportunity must be exploited. Success must be reinforced. Neil had gesticulated overtly and concluded by falling to the ground clutching the side of his face. Neil had trumped his Equity Card by then playing the victim card. A supporting cast of PQ high heid-yins had moved to center stage, they wanted to be seen to be backing Neil. Tom, Chris, Jum, ................ et al had charged on to social media. The Producers proposed strict liability was the added stimulus to maintain momentum. Anything running interference, you know Neil's propensity for domestic bullying, his addictions, his repetitive action, reaction, victimhood personality, his depression, his land deal with Slab Murphy, .......... etc will all be steamrollered and ignored. Pantomime enthusiasm won out, the required word to dismiss any caution is, "Whataboutery"! DrStu' confidently stepped forward and boomed, "anything contrary should be deemed whataboutery and whataboutery is banned". It's interesting, coin throwing is universally condemned, but awaiting the grinding gears of the Scottish Justice System to resolve each and every incident, is not to be trusted. Neil Lennon has become a prop to the likes of DrStu' and the PQ lynch mob. Regularly, DrStu' weaponises Lennon's behaviour, he has proposed and supported Lennon to be the next national team boss, the next Rangers manager, and highlights his experiences as a lever to impact his preferred prejudices upon Scottish society. All reasonable if you accept Neil operates in a vacuum? Of course, nature hates a vacuum and concurrently in Paisley, events were making an arse of DrStu' and the PQ mindset again. Rangers striker, Alfredo Morelos had been struck by a launched coin. DrStu' and Cowan had no where to go, it was more grist to their mill in supporting strict liability. However, the enthusiasm was waning and the PQ high heid-yins' social media action mirrored the petty and ill-informed. Over a dozen supported Neil in adversity, only Jane Lewis continued succour to Morelos. Off the Ball in the second half saw DrStu' and Tam effect a we have what we hold action. Oh no, they were not for marching back down the hill. They settled on asking fans to clype and grass on those launching coins. In a matter of a couple of hours, assisting the Police was deemed a better course of action than railroading the Scottish Government into another vague and undefined piece of legislation to assuage Neil Lennon's vanity. Here's the cake and eat it bit, the culmination of the 2016 Scottish Cup final saw dreadful scenes. The Rangers Skipper, Lee Wallace provided a statement to the Police after being spat on and assaulted. A group of Hibees taunted Wallace, carrying a banner proclaiming, 'Lee Wallace is a Grass'. They took it to Malta to support the national team and the PQ Gang Hut reported it being paraded through airports, bars, and arriving at the ground, all the time being cheered to the echo. DrStu' tells us often of injustice keeping him awake at night. We should be concerned and pray for DrStu's insomnia to be resolved. I suspect his nocturnal dyspepsia is the result of wanting and eating too much cake?3 points

Indeed. It was an utter disgrace though that Jack did not shake May's hand after the latter jumped into his back. Oh wait, he was on the way to hospital ... well, not exactly a good excuse. If people want respect, they have to earn it. I see a handshake after a game as some sort or respect shown to fellow sportsmen. It is not "part & parcel of the game" to foul, harass, or goad the opposition player and if you do such things, you don't get and can't expect any respect. It has become "part & parcel of the Scottish game" because Scottish referees letting it go or have developed some peculiar idea about the physicality of the sport.3 points

Reformed? Rehabilitated? Surely the SNP IS a simple box. "Independence at all costs." Nothing else matters, everything else is sacrificed for that one goal. If ever there was a simple box, it would have SNP stamped on the side. I've posted on here several times that if I believed independence could reasonably offer better life prospects for me and my family then I would be giving it serious consideration. It clearly doesn't, by any measure I can see. Taking that together with the disastrous failure of the current administration to carry out the responsibilities of government, I'm utterly bemused why anyone would be voting SNP and yet many obviously do ... so why is that and isn't the pursuit of an honest answer worth the candle? Families, job, health, wealth, and other such issues ... do you really think that's what drives the average SNP voter? Other than the SNP, the only other party I've seen in govt in Scotland is Labour and that was only slightly less mired in the politics of bigotry than the SNP. As for being quick to condemn SNP voting Rangers fans, I think we need to be careful not to allow false indignation to colour the facts. As far as I can remember, no one has said to anyone they shouldn't vote SNP. What HAS been said is that, for obvious reasons that have been outlined time and again on here, anyone who votes SNP and professes to support Rangers must inevitably be conflicted and that the equally inevitable outcome of that has to be a reinvention of one or the other. As far as I'm concerned they can kiss Elsie's arse twice daily, so long as they don't continue to revise what Rangers has been and largely still is. Which they always do. I don't belong to any political party either. Nor do I have any allegiance to one although I'm sure the assumption is I'm a tory, which I'm not. There are people here who would gnaw their thumbs off to see Corbyn in power (it's easy when you don't actually live in this country) while I wouldn't give MAY another day in No 10. If I vote, which I usually do it is based on which party can best limit the damage perpetrated by the worst choice. For many years now that has meant voting for whoever could best limit the chaos of the SNP. BTW, a really good post. I seldom read more than a couple of lines of anything but I enjoyed yours to the end.3 points

Off the Ball (evening edition) A small detail for the record........ podcast https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m0000zpg 23mins 45secs Despite the call of 'No whataboutery or jusitification allowed', Cosgrove, in a roundabout and indirect way, puts forward a justification for a coin to be thrown at Morelos when sliding in to celebrate. At some point during the programme he also made a point to cast doubt if the coin had actually hit Morelos. ---------------- Sportsound on Monday Surprise, surprise....... the Morelos rescinded red at Aberdeen featured once again2 points

Consuming confectionery(part two). Dolly grazed at Rugby Park on Sunday, the PQ flock descended upon the wilds of Ershur. Big Dick, Liam McLeod, and Wullie Miller chorused, 'we hate Rangers more than you' to the established PQ CSC. Gary Holt brought a hint of balance, whilst on-message Scott McDonald stood pitch side. Pre-match, both Big Dick and Liam made excuses for the paucity of Dandies in the away end ie Early kick-off time, another typhoid quarantine in the Granite City, and an aversion to mutton in the Killie Pie. Post match, Saturday's games were discussed, well not all games. In fact every match was discussed apart from Rangers visit to Paisley. PQ had decreed the dismissal of Candeias was for aggressive behaviour and Morelos being struck by a coin was awkward. What's to add? In the last few minutes of the broadcast, Big Dick ran through the Premiership league table. The Dandies move up to seventh, St Johnstone were tucked in, one point behind both Kilmarncock and Rangers, Hearts remain top after being thrashed by second top, Celtic. The bottom three are cast adrift after Motherwell's two victories ........ Wullie Miller asks, "where are Rangers in the table"? Big Dick offers, if Killie had secured a point today, they would have remained ahead of Rangers. See what I mean about cake and eating it? Hands up, if you believe us license fee payers will receive live coverage from Moscow on Thursday evening.2 points

It so happens that my Mrs and son cant make this Sunday's game either - two tickets (one juvenile) available for the Club Deck - for free of course to a Gersnetter. Would need to mail the tickets or I think can inform ticket office. Let me know.2 points

The Russians are ruled by a king. The Chinese are ruled over by a king. The PRK is ruled by a king. Same in Egypt, Iran, and the entire Arab world. Kazakhstan, all the other Stans and most of Africa are ruled by kings. So many it's going to be boring to mention them all. They can't all be wrong. ? What ... was king not the right word?2 points

This is why Gersnet is the best wee Rangers forum there is - wonderful gesture !!2 points

Incredible to think that we are still managing to sell out home games on Sunday afternoons, on Remembrance Sunday indeed, while our football has gone a little flat, we have dropped 12 points out of the first 11 games, dumped oot the cup by yet another insipid performance, this time against Dolly of all teams. Incredible backing from the fans. If only we had a team that stepped up and played with the same conviction. On another note, do you think we will have the big gun back again on Sunday? (Not Lafferty, the cannon gun thing that shatters eardrums!)1 point

I would suggest that no Bear actually says "No problems here". Many have no real insight in these matters, most will assume that King & Co. can handle it or will know how to do it, and many won't want to fall for media-spin on certain aspects of the report - usually taken out of context or indeed are not given in full. Regarding the latter, it is striking that similar media analysis is hard to come by when it concerns their results.1 point

Last week, ra Sellik revealed their wage bill to be several hundred thousand pounds short of £60 million. Going across both broadcast and print media today, the number of feelgood articles involving ra Sellik and articles of moral concern running interference of the Torbett verdict, is quite remarkable. BBC Scotland's newly appointed Sports News Correspondent, Chris McLaughlin has presented a piece on gambling sponsorship in Scottish football. Stacey Mullen headlines in the Evening Times on the proposed Mass at St Mary's in the Calton, to mark the 131st anniversary of the founding of ra Sellik. Chris Doyle contacts Kieran Maguire to put a wonderful spin on ra Sellik's financial strength. Ewing Grahame wheels out David Low in the Scottish Sun. The man who advised Fergus McCann warns Rangers, 'careful now'! Apparently, our obsession with preventing Sellik's ten-in-a-row, will see us going burst, AGAIN!1 point

Maybe they are better at marketing their club than us we have to do better we need someone to sell our brand .1 point

FWIW, I don't think there's any grand SNP plan to attack or alienate Rangers despite the obvious ideological differences between them. Unfortunately there are just a few key individuals within the party who can't put their profession above their personal feelings.1 point

I occasionally wonder about the effect of SG's mega star status in the game and if all of our players are happy to live and work in his shadow. When he says Big clubs need Big players who step-up and deliver in Big moments, he does so as someone who was the very meaning of those words. But he indirectly addresses a squad that has nothing like that in it. IMO to say so quickly that they'll be shipped out and replaced if they don't deliver was a mistake.1 point

This is what happens when you hire an unsafe pair of hands like Pedro Caixinha. Unnecessary and self-inflicted doesn't even begin to cover it.1 point
