  1. This is what happens when you hire an unsafe pair of hands like Pedro Caixinha. Unnecessary and self-inflicted doesn't even begin to cover it.

  2. Good post from a Hearts forum on the whole Lennon situation and not just this incident. Other times when he has been 'having a bit of fun' but obviously never goading an already volatile crowd.

  3. We are 4 pts behind the BHEASTS and sitting top of our EL group, at the start of the season I don't think anyone would have expected that! we are going through a wee blip! onwards and upwards!.

  4. Sorry buddy. Just getting tired of all this conditional fan bollox. I support Rangers. I'm originally from Govan. They were my local team. Scottish? British? TBH I don't really care. I just want to support my team without a huge list of conditions. It seems that's what some people would impliment if they had their way. Anyhoo...I'm off topic. I'm not that into booing...

  5. I don't get why fans boo their own players/team??, maybe I am just more reserved?, it changes nothing!

  6. Again I get and share the disappointment but we were again by far the better team last night and the only side that wanted to win the game. We did actually create several chances (our crossing and set-pieces were noticeably better) but a combination of bad luck, poor finishing and good goalkeeping stopped us winning the game comfortably. In the end Fod saved us from losing but it's not all doom and gloom. Yes, of course it's a bad result, and annoying to lose ground on Celtic but fortunately, we didn't lose points on others. Not a great way of looking at it but it is a positive and we can't dismiss tams like Killie who have proven themselves useful time and time again.

  8. I thought Andy Halliday was excellent tonight. He was our best player in the first half and done a steady job atvleft back in the 2nd half. He was head and shoulders above everyone else tonight. MOTM for me by a long way.

  9. At full time last night, the booing ringing around the stadium was very disappointing to hear. Whether some of it may have been attributable to yet another poor refereeing performance, this time by Nick Walsh, is neither here nor there. Frustration at dropping points is understandable especially in light of Sunday's result, but to resort to booing players that to a man try, is ultimately self defeating, and on so many levels. Zero humility shown by far too many fans if you ask me and little acknowledgement of the fact that Kilmarnock are a good team. Time to get behind the lads. The last thing we need is to give fuel to a media fire designed to put undue pressure on Stevie.

  10. McGrory and Stein didn’t behave like Lennon. McNeil didn’t. Burns didn’t. O’Leary didn’t. Rogers doesn’t. The man unique.

  11. It's fairly simple,......... No goading = No coin thrown The authorities have to charge Lennon, AGAIN.

  12. Stevie's savvy enough not to alienate the fans. He acknowledges the 'groans and the boos' and does the correct thing by citing the 'standards' of the club. That said, he's at the sharp end of management now whereby for the first time he and the players are under the first bout of sustained pressure from a string of poor results. I thought that his post match comments on Sunday were possibly ill-judged despite being spot on in practically every respect. The balance between laying down the gauntlet to under-performing, largely ordinary, players but still keeping them onside and not further denting confidence, is a big part in the art of management. He obviously backtracked a little on this use of 'threat' when he said in his pre-match comments that he could be sacked too, if a lack of results were to become more regular. Personally, I think it is now becoming obvious to a lot of fans that he needs better players to get us to where we all want to be. Adding additional pressure out of venting frustration by way of conspicuous booing can be heavily counter productive in my view. All you needed to do was look at the number of players lying down on the ground after the final whistle to realise how precarious collective confidence can be. Let's hope that they can get back to winning ways at Greenhill Rd on Saturday lunchtime.

  13. If we take a step back for a moment and look at it in context: A draw against Kilmarnock is not the end of the world. They're a very good side; well coached, well drilled and near impossible to break down on a good day. As for title ambitions, I don't think that was ever a realistic target this season; never was. I want 2nd place, preferably by a comfortable margin. We're still well in the hunt for that. The concerning thing for me is that, for a good few games we've been really poor; unable to create chances and, crucially, to take them. It may partly be down to the opposition -- tough, deep defensive blocks -- but there's no doubt we've looked almost clueless at times. I think it's hilarious that after results like this we all seem to know, without doubt, what we need to improve. It's always a formation change. The latest was a change to a 4-2-3-1 and/or play 2 up top. Well, we changed to a 4-2-3-1 and it was still poor; and when Lafferty came on we went 2 up top, and it was still poor -- the latter was almost worse! (4-4-2 doesn't suit us playing Scottish sides: it's too easy to man-mark. 2 up top could be a good option, but it'd need to go down the 3-at-the-back route.) I thought we were/are on to a good thing with the 4-3-3; it just needs tweaking, better/more coaching. I don't think we should be throwing out the baby with the bathwater. It is desperately disappointing, though.

  14. I'm afraid it is and there has never been solid grounds to say otherwise wrt our league results. The glimmer of hope in the first couple of months was down to Celtic not being at it either. The reality is that they have a better squad and have now kicked into gear and in over the 20 plus games left, they are going to pull away because we are still not at the level required and have a shallow squad.

  15. Another atrocious refereeing performance tonight, I didn't think they could get worse! but that ref tonight was abysmal.

  16. Barisic will be first choice when fit. Not much we can do about that just now. Katic has, arguably, played his way out of the team. I did wonder about Grezda during the match though. Why has he played so few minutes? It looks like Kent is suffering a dip in form so perhaps it would have been a good idea to play Grezda instead. Perhaps we will see him start in the next match.

  17. The Celtic player who makes the difference is Rogic. He's the type of player we could do with as an attacking midfielder.

  19. I thought Halliday did well last night considering he's been asked to come on and make cameo appearances.

  20. At least we found out that Halliday could put a decent corner over now let's have others step to the plate.

  21. In the interview there was no redness or bruise on his face which you would expect to see if hit with something, this should be evident to the powers that be. More serious is the attack on the goalkeeper IMO.

  22. Believe me, the one from Kent was top, top class. Doesn't look all that impressive on the TV but we were right behind it, and he seen it very late as Kent switched the ball to his right foot and hit it very well. He also made a fine save from a header which was looping in. The save wasn't astounding but he did well to get the ball out of danger.

  23. But that's why teams park the bus - to limit chances against better opposition. It's really difficult to break down a bank of ten players - we defended like that ourselves for many games (with some success) in Europe - so it's not a given we're going to create 10 chances in every match with the shoe on the other foot. As such, when we do create chances - which we did last night - we have to take them and, unfortunately, we missed three excellent ones in particular whilst the 'keeper made one superb save from a Kent drive that looked destined for the bottom corner. Meanwhile, Killie and Aberdeen create a couple each and score one goal each which is really annoying given we dominated both games.

  24. On the loanees, I think you are being a tad harsh. Kent's done ok but not briiliant. Ejaria has shown promise and IMO is always looking to do something positive. They're young players so we probably have to show some patience (me included).

  25. We are all frustrated, however we are creating chances, their keeper had a few good saves, we also had numerous corners which we should have scored from a couple of them, Arfield missed a sitter as well.

  26. I said back in 2015 that the new PR should be Patience and Realism. A day after the release of annual accounts that reflect what happens when you metaphorically chuck toys oot the pram and want new ones every year. Regardless if it's partly because the Toys were made in Taiwan. After the institutional failure of 2017, I thought DK/the board made an excellent appointment in SG and his staff, I still do. It should be obvious that he'll need time to build something worthwhile. If fans want to even contemplate a push for change after a few poor results than essentially, they are pushing the club into a much more difficult place.

  27. Yes that would definitely get the job done. The slight problem is it will never happen because we're so cowed we won't take the slightest personal risk. That's not to belittle anyone, it's simply a fact of life. I'd like to see that Rangers chairman make a public statement, pleading with all Rangers fans to stop paying their TV licence fees because of inappropriate and false reporting by the BBC. It's debatable how many would rally to his cause but, while risking legal action against the club, it would certainly publicise the problem far beyond the BBC's ability to control.

  28. Fair play to all who have managed to take a step back and add some perspective on our recent poor form. Still a bit raw for me personally tbh. I just want us to create more. If their keeper is making saves that means we are creating chances and that is not happening at the moment. We need to work out a system that gets the best out if the 5 players playing in midfield and on the flanks behind Morelos. Earlier in the season I thought we were cracking it but now I'm none the wiser about how we acheive this

  29. You're right that we were the only team who wanted to win the game, but the highlights tell the story. We had about 5 highlights in the whole game; Morelos one on one with defenders in a counter attack, gets a lucky deflection for the goal Goldson free header in a great position from a corner, makes a very poor connection on it and it doesn't threaten the goal Tavernier has a good shot from outside the box which clips the bar Kent long shot which the keeper saves quite easily A scramble in the box ends with Arfield poking it wide Two long shots, a header from a corner which should have been scored but ultimately didn't really threaten, and a scramble in the box which could have been a clear cut chance but didn't really turn into one and ended with a hopeful poke. I might have missed something but really the only chance in the highlights is Goldson's header and he bottled it. We can't blame luck or good goalkeeping at all. There were no other real chances where we could expect the player to finish and he didn't.

  30. Well if you're going to mock, I could say it's hilarious that you dismiss playing 4-4-2 against Scottish sides when we won 9 in a row playing 4-4-2, and most (if not all) our titles since. It's easy to mark if you're rubbish. There's nothing inherently wrong with it at all, you're sacrificing a little bit of possession in exchange for giving yourself two strikers instead of one to play one-twos with and help get your midfield forward with the ball. The way things have been recently, sacrificing a bit of possession would be no bad thing. I'm not saying a formation change is the silver bullet for one minute, but I did point out that we've created almost nothing when we meet some resistance time after time using the status quo and formation changes were options. However if we're not drilled in it (which we don't seem to be) we'll struggle. And swapping to it for brief period certainly won't give it a chance.

  32. pete, Power could have been sent off after less than half an hour. He had 3 fouls, all of which were every bit as bad as Ryan Kent's first foul, for which he was booked. So 3 fouls, no booking. one foul, booking. Power then got booked after about 29 minutes for a cynical foul when Kent (I think) had broken beyond him. He had previously executed virtually the same foul. We dropped the points tonight, of that there is no doubt. But a referee does have a direct impact on proceedings. The lack of consistency is so frustrating. And, no, I am not blaming the ref - but highlighting that a consistent ref would have red carded a Killie player who would then have had to play an hour with 10 men..... we probably still wouldn't have scored mind you

  33. The Ref was not the main reason for us losing points. To think that is burying your head in the sand.

  34. I am honestly not certain Davis is our answer. I would rather have a player that can split defences and score 15 goals a season from midfield and Davis is not that player.

  37. It’s been all over talkSPORT that he is a fanny. That the coin hit his chest and he went down holding his face. He is a horrible twisted wee Ned. The Scottish media might cover it up but the English have not.

  38. Please. I’m getting more and more concerned that Gerrard won’t drop him for anything.

  39. Worrall continuing to play concerns me. His distribution is poor and he just seems very average. Katic looked a much better defender prior to his injury. Is Gerrard playing a loanee due to the agreement or does he give preference to his compatriots?
