  1. To me, this is far worse behaviour than Reid's phone call. It's the actions of a scummy club and it shows how low they are willing to go.

  2. There can be no other club on planet fitba who would behave like they do. It is one thing to try and push the limits to get a sporting advantage for your own club but it is another to try and damage a rival at all levels like they do. There can be no doubt now that these SFA charges have nothing to do with Sporting Imtegrity. It’s got nothing to do with EBTs and false liquidity statements. It’s pure hatred from them because of what they are. It makes you strongly suspect that organisations like FARE are working very very closely with these people. They are an absolute cancer. A club that could only offer their greatest ever employee a pools job because he wasn’t a catholic. Rangers need to come up with some sort of response against these people (I can hardly call them by their name anymore) and it needs to be a series of actions not words and statements. Getting them out our stadium was a good start. It also demonstrates we need to build our relationships with other clubs. I am sure there are chairmen out there who will think these people are totally out of control and stuff like the referee strike was manufactured purposely and entirely from bad sportsmanship and zero integrity.

  3. IMO Liverpool have won 5 from 5 in the EPL without even getting into top gear. On top of that Salah has not yet got into his groove yet this season. They are serious contenders

  4. There is no mystery, it was Reid. What it highlights is the lengths Celtic would go to stick the boot into Rangers. Fast forward from then to now and we have two SFA charges against us that are in the system and were pushed by a prominent Chief Executive of a Scottish football club. Edit TBF to Lawwell it was more an activist fan group who pressured the board into going down this road. Lawwell then started maneuvering the governing bodies/personel as best he could.

  8. "And it so happened that I had already had a meeting with Lex Gold at the SPL because what we were willing to do was to extend the season because of the fixture pile-up that Rangers had and I was most disappointed when I got back to the office to receive this call to ask me not to help them in any way. "That really stuck in my throat." And why in the gods name did you not simply go on with your plan to extend the season? You may say that someone called you, but at the end of the day, it was you and your fellows to do what was right ... or wrong.

  10. POLL: Takeover Panel - Dave King share sale undertaking Members will be aware that the Chairman of Rangers International Football Club PLC (RIFC),Dave King, is being pursued by the Takeover Panel to make an offer for all of the shares in RIFC at a price of 20p, the same price at which the recent RIFC share issue was approved. The Takeover Panel’s action was prompted by a complaint from David Somers, who resigned as Chairman of RIFC’s Board shortly before the March 2015 meeting that installed the current regime at RIFC. The action by the Panel is just one unfortunate consequence of Somers’ time at our Club. We need hardly remind members of other misfortunes that befell the Club during the period he was Chairman. As Members will be aware, the purpose for which Club 1872 was formed was to acquire shares in RIFC, not to sell them. Far less to sell them at the same price we have just acquired them in the share issue and dilute our influence and participation in RIFC. We have been asked whether our CIC will sign an irrevocable undertaking not to sell our shares in RIFC at a price of 20p. This may assist in bringing matters with the Panel to an end by persuading them to reduce the cash confirmation they will require before an offer can be made. Such a decision is clearly one to be taken by our members. We would therefore ask you to vote by clicking the link below and logging in to your account - you will then be automatically redirected to the poll. The poll will close at midnight on Wednesday 26th September: VOTE HERE Club 1872 Issued by Supporters Voice Limited, a Club 1872 company

  11. Why? I mean, I am not exactly clued up about what they intent to do, but would assume that they would not suggest the above after talking it through with people who are clued up?

  12. Sterling work on the Rangers graves projects an example of which I will just post here for anyone who may not have seen how impressive the work is. The grave of the legendary Mr William Struth, manager of Rangers for 34 years from 1920 to 1954. Mr Struths grave before work had been completed. Mr Struths grave after the restoration work

  13. That is indeed one unbalanced facet of it. The away team in the first leg has no chance of snatching an extra time away goal against tiring legs while the away team in the second leg potentially does.

  17. Absolutely over the moon to extend my contract for this great club! #2022 Previous Article Next Article Tuesday, 18 September 2018, 18:00 by Nick Thomson 625 JAMES TAVERNIER tonight signed a new, improved contract with Rangers, keeping him at Ibrox until 2022, and it’s safe to say he’s thrilled. The club captain, who joined from Wigan Athletic in the summer of 2015, revealed he’s indebted to Rangers for helping relaunch his career after a tough few seasons in England’s lower leagues. He also opened up on transfer rumours involving him during the summer window, but insisted this is the only place he ever wanted to be. Speaking exclusively to RangersTV at Ibrox, Tavernier said: “I am delighted to go through the window and still be a Rangers player, and I have obviously been rewarded with a new contract. “I’ve always seen this as the place for me to play football. Rangers have always been great for me for giving me the foundation to start playing again and to start my career over again, and I will always hold that closely. WATCH MORE FROM TAVERNIER HERE ON RANGERSTV “There was a bit of interest in the summer, but I was fully focused on working with the gaffer in this new campaign being captain as well. “This season, I was really excited for what was going to come with the new team, and the gaffer with what he has brought in terms of the tactics and the new faces.” Tavernier has grown significantly as a player over the last three years, and he explained how his current position as club captain fulfils an ambition of his from back when he joined. “It was a dream [to be named captain],” he said. “I set a target when I first came, and said I wanted to wear that captain’s armband within five years. “I know some of the boys that have come in, and I know their qualities and what they bring. Even the other lads who I haven’t played with before have shown their qualities early in the season and have done really well for us. Tavernier is now gearing up for his next step in his Rangers career – the Europa League – having been tested and come through the Championship and the Premiership. He added: “People talk about big European nights at Rangers, and this is the first thing this season we had the chance to make right, especially after last season. “So we have made it to the group stages, and we have three great names in our group. For our first game, we are all buzzing for it and we can’t wait to put on a show. “We are just wanting to collect as many points as we can from now onwards.”

  18. Perhaps it would be prudent to sign him, if he is willing, of course, in the January window, pre-Brexit, because after that event, we may be thrown back to the days of work permits, limited in number (was it 12 for Scottish football?). such as prevailed when we attempted, and failed, to obtain the services of Mario Jardel.

  20. It was interesting to hear Pete on the latest podcast talking about how our fans are now looking out for the Hearts results, when normally we’re just looking for Celtics result on a Saturday/Sunday. I’m not sure whether that means we’re hoping that Hearts lose so we can make up ground, given we’re already 7 points behind them after their impressive start to the season. I don’t know what others think but I, for one, am looking out for them too, not for a loss, but rather hoping they keep it up. We still have to play Hearts four times - so I’m not worried at all about their position in the league relative to us ( for now at least) but what I do like about Hearts’ momentum is it makes our league that more competitive and Celtic don’t like that. Unless they are storming the league I think they feel the pressure and that can only be good for us. They’ve had it too easy for too long, Aberdeen never really made them sweat when they were mounting their so called challenge over the last few seasons, so I’m glad we have a team that are 5 points ahead of them so early in the season. I’d rather it be us of course, but I welcome the challenge from the other teams for once. If we can go on a good run now and Hearts keep up the pressure too, I think this could be a very exciting and closely fought campaign this season. It’s way too early to start making bold predictions from our side, nobody likes it when we do that. Ironically though, we’re already hearing from sections of the media that Hearts are title contenders after just 5 games, Anyway, bring it on, the more teams fighting at the top of the league and putting pressure on those that prefer ‘easy street’ the better in my opinion. Let’s go!

  23. Aye. Welcome to modern Scotland. Banners about 'huns' and hanging effigies of Rangers fans is just a bit of 'craic' but don't you dare sing Hello Hello. For the record, neither bother me in the slightest but I'd like to see some consistency.

  28. You have a lot of Labour members and MP's, not just the Jewish community within the Labour ranks, coming out and admitting Labour has serious issues with their anti-semitic attitudes. But you never hear any of the SNP supporters, members or MSP's, MP's admitting that they have problems with the Republican element and their anti-Protestant, anti-Rangers attidudes. Nothing just silence, so can we take it that they condone such sectarianism and bigotry in their party?
