Thanks everyone for taking part. It was a wee bit of fun to tide us over until the Rangers get going again. What a finish!4 points

Kudos for the winner and Rousseau to keep it all up. + + + The French then. Cheat their way to the free-kick to score from. Go bananas at the ref because of a hand-ball to get a soft to dubious penalty. Dance like a madman because scoring with the penalty. Act "totally clever and cool" by lettting the underdog play football while sitting back, soaking up pressure and hit the underdog on the counter ... AND THEN ... manage to concede a freak goal to deny me the second correct score of the tournament. Total tosspotts! We sure had some good games and moments during this World Cup, but the behaviour by those who are supposedly the best out there - be they French, Brazilian or whatever - left a bad taste in the mouth.2 points

Erm... this is a close one... Everyone who entered bar one gained 1 point for the Correct Result, and only Bill gained 3 points for the Correct Score. Malangsob, Craig and Rousseau finish level on points, so it goes down to Correct Score. Rousseau finishes 3rd, with 7 Correct Scores. Craig and Malangsob are level on 9 Correct Scores each, so it goes down to Correct Results. Malangsob ends with 24 Correct Results. The winner, with 25 Correct Results, of the Gersnet World Cup Prediction League, is: CRAIG2 points

A quick trawl through online dictionaries provides a variety of similar and succinct definitions for “Lifeblood”. “a vital or life-giving force or component” “the indispensable factor or influence that gives something its strength and vitality” “the thing that is most important to the continuing success and existence of something else” RSC’s are not comprised of people who view themselves as “uber fans”, who consider themselves better or more deserving than others, they are just a group of bears who, most probably for geographical reasons, have aligned themselves together with the common purpose of following and supporting the club we love. They have evolved significantly since the days of their forerunner – the brake club, a name given honouring the mode of transport. A brake was large horse drawn carriage which could transport 20-30 people and brake clubs often had their own distinct banner in much the same way our modern RSC’s have their distinct logos. What a sight to behold that must have been! With the development of both motorised transport and the railways the days of the brake as a form of transport were numbered, but not so the recognised value of Rangers fans uniting together with the common purpose of following and supporting the club they loved. The modern-day RSC is a vital component part of the Rangers community with many more far reaching benefits than just transport. It serves to bring together like minded Rangers supporters who otherwise would have been strangers. I have in my phone 23 names which would not had been there had I not joined my local RSC. These are guys I speak with, rip the piss out of (always reciprocated) and socialise with on an almost daily basis. Our local RSC is effectively networking, bringing together people with a shared mission and vision. Collectively it serves to ignite the flames of passion for our football club. It is vital, it is strength giving and it is indispensable. Networking with other RSC’s is a further benefit, and on several occasions now we have enjoyed the hospitality of our friends in the Toryglen True Blues. Their passion and desire for our club is epitomised on the Rangers website “Buses leave 20 Social Club, Rutherglen for every Rangers game in Scotland and to every away European game that is reachable by bus” One can almost feel the “come hell or high water” oozing out of that! For a club which draws its support from all over Scotland and beyond the local RSC serves as the focal point for the Rangers diaspora, and one only has to look at the incredible work and achievements of the Plymouth True Blues, @ThePTBs1988 for those on twitter, as a shining example. Of course, irrespective of the many collateral benefits of an RSC, transport to and from games remain their primary function. The local Rangers Supporter Bus provides not only an essential service, but also by their character and nature, an indispensable service. They bridge the gap in the lack of provision afforded by public transport. With their localised pick ups and unique dropping off points they can make the difference between success and failure in our desire to follow Rangers, particularly for those who find themselves less able these days. In short, they offer affordability and accessibility. It is probably no co-incidence that the largest RSC in the world is in the far-flung regions of Lewis & Harris. As an RSC member I consider myself no better nor deserving than the bear who jumps in his or her car and makes the solitary journey to watch our beloved team. Having done that for many a year myself, I have the utmost respect for them. But having joined my local RSC, the energy, vitality and sense of belonging it provides is a drug of addiction I couldn’t be without. Our RSC’s are our lifeblood in so many ways – let’s make sure we sustain them.1 point

I lost a fair bit of respect for Griezmann with the dive for the first. Second wasn’t a penalty IMO. That final left a sour taste in the mouth.1 point

I didn't applaud cheer, cheer or jeer as Windass walked off. I just stood, shaking my head at him (I'm not joking). The cheer as he walked off seemed quite loud and it felt like the support were glad to see him being taken off but perhaps that was just my own perception. People seemed glad to see Middleton come on too.1 point

Natural order restored folks Thanks for running as always Rousseau. Really wish Croatia had won though, felt like they were continually being robbed that first half1 point

Thanks Rousseau. Really enjoyed that, and I know it takes a lot of effort all the way through, so well done to you. And well done the top 3, especially Craig. It was a bizarre (but brilliant) World Cup so it was even more of an achievement to get some of those results correct.1 point

No surprises there. The Nazis had to tell the Ustase to calm down, that's how vicious they were. Tito was a Croat, which is also largely ignored by those who paint Croats as the oppressed.1 point

English commentators commentating on England's participation in the world cup annoying you? DrStu' has the solution, "there's a good fish restaurant in the Calton, A'Challtain that turns the volume down on their screen, allows you to watch the game, whilst jazz funk is played over the PA". John Beattie suggests DrStu' should forget about English commentators, "ah cannae, we shouldn't forget about them", mumbles the denizen of Dennistoun. In his advancing years, DrStu' appears riven by forgetfulness, A'Challitain is ten yards from the Squirrel Bar, HQ of the Green Brigade. You can enjoy monkfish wrapped in pancetta with an effigy wrapped in a Rangers scarf hanging on the side. I wonder if Cannon Tom White at St Alophonsus(ten yards the other side of the Squirrel Bar) and the balaclava wearing hordes get down on the one, stone grooving on the jazz funk? Do DrStu', Cannon Tom, and the Green Brigade march to the same tune? We should be told. Yesterday, DrStu' was boastful of his constant support for Croatia, small nation fighting for it's independence; over throwing their Serbian oppressors. Of course, Croatia was independent during the war, both the Nazis and Mussolini granted their freedom to purify their country. The Ustase loved their work, cheered on by the Croatian rc church. After the war, the most efficient Nazi escape lines to South America were administered by the Ustase and their cheerleaders. We shouldn't forget about that amid the flag waving nationalism. Connie McLaughlin returned to PQ airwaves yesterday, another shill for Celtic FC; she was anxious to flash her 'inner buzz' credentials, and her introduction included, "well, it's not exactly a full house here today at Celtic Park". I guess we will have to wait for the attendance figures for yesterday's friendly against Standard Liege to emerge? Another PQ stalwart re-appeared to help co-present Dr Stu's show, Annie McGuire interspersed her obsession with her six year old daughter with a few digs at Rangers. No longer is Annie riling against the Reformation or proclaiming, "Celtic are a lovely club, full of ethics"; she has joined DrStu' as a practitioner of careful hate. The guests were Lana Clelland, a forward for Fiorentina Ladies and Darren McGarvey(author of Poverty Safari). Lana is a Rangers supporter, attended Thursday night's game and proclaimed herself disappointed. Annie chortled as she offered, "but you'd say you were making Progres". Lana handled herself well, deserves far more exposure. I recommend McGarvey's tome, it's a good interesting read. It's not the successor to Rowntree's sponsored surveys of poverty in York in the late 19th/early 20th centuries that some have promoted, but is a worthy winner of the Orwell Prize. Darren sounds fragile, he is a recovering from a number of addictions. I suspect his appearance was to raise his profile, hie summed up his football involvement in a line where he admitted to attending Sellik Park with his granny, then telling all his school mates were Rangers supporters. He liked the pies at ra Stydome and feels sorry for the service industries around Ibrox, the economic impact of smaller crowds? Credit to DrStu' and Lana for pointing out Rangers crowds have not diminished. The Orwell Prize is prodigious, a number of prizes are awarded for making political writing an art form, just like George's tomes. Darren was honest in not being really aware of it, but enjoyed the experience. Of course, another winner of the Orwell Prize was the Rangers Tax Case Blog. DrStu's constant refrain is transparency, he wants transparency in political life and in football life. As Rangers supporters we still don't know whose mantle piece hosts the trophy? DrStu' or his nomme de guerre, 'Sarah Leyden'(his Donegal born maternal gran) was a regular contributor to the RTC Blog, as were a number of well known Scots journos. However, DrStu' has stated on a number of occasions on Auntie Beeb that the RTC Blog is old news and we should all forget about it. Hhhhmm, transparency? We should not forget about it, why should we be left hanging like those effigies above the north stand. Is that DrStu's postioning of the Rangers support, strange fruit twisting in the breeze? Again, we should be told.1 point

Me and my mate ( we must have been about 12) used to sit on the wall by the then bus-stop whilst the rest of the bus would be in the bar to the right of the railway station. The pub to the left of the station (30 yards away) was used by Celtic fans. When we arrived back, it'd be straight up Morrison street to the chippy !....happy days1 point

At least the manager recognises his strengths. I'm intrigued that RW won't be his long-term position. Probably right. Jack didn't catch my eye, but I think we were a little more solid, and we did start to screw the nut, pin them back, when he came on.1 point

He just speaks from a common sense point of view. Yeah, exactly. He is learning his personnel. Gym time...practice time and competitive pitch minutes are two different animals. He is simply seeing where his men fit in. Players like Windass are an enigma. Windass actually worked in this game. SG is simply giving the guy the benefit of the doubt before he reaches a conclusion. SG is on an island. He has to work with the resources in his possession. This is a puzzle that takes time. More common sense. Shkupi can't hang back and are going to have to push the issue at some point. This will create space and opportunity. I don't know if we are gonna have 'The Flute', so once again it will be up to Morelos up front. Gonna be interesting.1 point

The fact it looked different on TV may have been why there was so much disagreement on it here afterwards. I watched it on TV and what I saw was us swarming all over them creating enough good chances to win several matches comfortably. As you say on another night it could have been six or seven nil and hopefully that's what happens in the away leg. Though just one should be enough to clinch it.1 point
