Anyways, Good to know our new Gaffer has the backing of a legend such as Zizou. A couple of cheeky little loans wouldn't hurt.4 points

why though? He wasn't a rangers fan and is pals with Scott Brown. If his kids grows up to support Celtic then who cares.4 points

I’m surprised at people’s negativity towards Murphy. Without him we’d have been blown away by Hibs, he got 3 assists and was instrumental in most of what went right. He’s also one of the only players we have who can dribble past his man, and he’s been better at this when he’s playing through the middle.4 points

He has no connection with Rangers now and hasn't had for several years - who cares about anything Whittaker says or does??? Maybe he should withdraw from playing against us in the future, coz he once played for us.... All this guff about Whittaker.....yet no issues with Mo Johnson or latterly a certain Mr Miller, who not only played for them, but I believe scored against us....3 points

The worldwide positive attention & exposure we are getting with the appointment of SG is brilliant, compare that to the Scottish gutter press reaction to this appointment! embarrassing for the Scottish gutter press! regardless if SG is a success the board have to be applauded for this.3 points

We should be doing that with more of our loanees....let them help other Premiership teams against everyone else, but don't allow them to play against us - Ceptic have been doing it for years. (and if possible, include a clause stipulating a certain amount of 1st team action...).3 points

Hope we give Burt a contract extension ... watched him at the HK7s and there sure is bags of potential in the lad. Wonder whether Hardie will get one too. Do that and hand him back to Livi for 6 month to see how he does regularly on Premiership level.3 points

@917 this is not the first time your posts have raised my suspicions.2 points

Allardyce is very good at what he does, but he'll not get passed a certain level. His sides are dull.2 points

Spot on. Both keepers have been out on loan to get some first team experience and should now be either knocking the door of the first team door, or released if not felt good enough. Both are highly thought of at the club, so lets back them to be the back up. Wes & Jak are decent keepers, but they are not at the level we wish our club to be at. Wes should command a good fee down south, not so sure about Jak, and I would hope they have both taken the hint that they are going to be further down the ladder now we have signed a proper keeper and be instructing their agents to get them a move. Both would leave with our thanks for their efforts during a very difficult time.2 points

Agreed - in recent games when our central midfield and defence go missing, it's bordering on the impossible for our attackers to get into the game. Murphy has disappointed in some games but only when we don't have any sort of foothold. When we are able to retain possession then Murphy is usually effective in forward areas.2 points

ID10 says that the deals for Skrtel and Wilson are all but done.2 points

That's the most galling thing, for me, about recent derbies. In the 90s, we rarely had easy games against that lot. If the opposition have better players, make yourselves hard to beat and fight for every single ball. That's pretty basic stuff.2 points

When he leaves you can be sure the full victim card will be played. His wife mum dog and goldfish will have been subject to sectarian assault for sure. Hes a dispicable excuse for a human being. No respect.2 points

ZINEDINE ZIDANE has backed Steven Gerrard to be a success at Rangers and vowed to follow his progress closely. Rookie boss Stevie G will officially kick-off his Ibrox reign on June 1 in what will be his first job in management. That has led to some critics accusing Gers of taking a huge and unnecessary gamble in their bid to stop Celtic winning ten-in-a-row. But France World Cup legend Zidane knows all too well that Gerrard’s vast experience as a player should help him make the transition into the dugout. Zidane was largely untried after replacing Rafa Benitez in the Bernabeu hotseat in 2016, having only previously bossed Real Madrid’s ‘B’ team Castilla. However, the 45-year-old silenced his snipers and is now on the verge of becoming the first manager to win three Champions League titles in a row. And Zidane insists Liverpool hero Gerrard has all the qualities to be a top coach. He said: “It is not a big deal that this is his first role as a senior coach. “He will learn as he goes but there isn’t much you’ll be able to teach Gerrard about the game. “He has played with and against the best, won a Champions League Final, captained one of the biggest clubs in Europe, and won over 100 caps with England. “Not many players in the world have that sort of experience in the game – and he will use all those years of experience from the very first day in the job. “I followed his playing career closely and now I will be following his coaching career closely. “He is a born winner, a natural winner and I am sure he will bring that to Rangers.” https://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/sport/football/2677656/rangers-steven-gerrard-real-madrid-zinedine-zidane/1 point

Rangers players should not support Celtic or be seen to support Celtic. Their fans are scum who want our club dead.1 point

hopefully new SFA chief exec Ian Maxwell will be keeping up-to-date with court proceedings and will be in a position to determine whether any member clubs were involved in cover-ups regards child abuse in scottish football. I rather think his predecessor, Mr Regan, wasn't too keen on this & got out.1 point

To me Skrtel is too similar to Alves, i.e. ageing, slowing down, injury prone and overpaid.. Well at least one of them might be fit at the same time .1 point

The sheep will be easily dislodged from second place and McInnes must actually know that third will be their objective in the future. Obviously he can't say that without creating ableating storm among their following.1 point

We used to have more than our share of the same arrogance. There’s still some of it around. Six seasons being kicked around like outcasts has been a sobering lesson for many. Rather than see a return to success as a matter only of revenge, perhaps we might also pursue it with some much-needed humility.1 point

I don't think that will happen....he's too comfortable where he is...he's winning trophies & the fans love him. I think he'll be staying put unless it all goes pear-shaped. The same goes for Broonaldo....everyone is constantly told what an amazing player, yet when was the last time ANY interest was shown in him, from ANY team???1 point
-
It's up to kids who they want to support,I took mine to a Rangers match and from then they were hooked but if they had not wanted to go back I would not have forced them.1 point

You certainly pick up on Ceptics ever increasing arrogance this season. I think that has also shown in their results & general play - no where near the level it was last season. I think they will see a much more galvanised & solid Gers team next season, which can hopefully throw the cat right in amongst Brenda pigeons!!!!1 point

Marco Asensio at 22 would be ideal1 point

He certainly underachieved when it came to Europe. Considering our spending power at that time far too many "in essence" smaller teams wiped the floor with us.1 point

Celtc could pick up internationals then for a million quid and less. Football was very different. Aberdeen were spending a million on a player etc. General standard was better.1 point

It means doing whatever you think is in the best interests of Rangers. You and I might disagree on what that is but I don't think the many fans who, on a point of principle, no longer go to away games are less of a supporter than you.1 point

I'm not sure where to begin with this. I mean it's a very bad idea for any Rangers player to sit among Celtic fans at any match, they are putting themselves in a position of danger if nothing else. Whilst he's not the most high profile player he was clearly still recognised and, had the match gone differently, some of their support might not have been in a friendly mood. Secondly he can't be that naive. He's from here, he 'gets it', he was brought up with it. You could maybe excuse a foreign player or maybe an English one, where this type of thing might happen without comment. But this is Glasgow, and rightly or wrongly you don't do that here. A Rangers player, any Rangers player, watching a cup final Rangers aren't in, from the Celtic end, must rank as a stupid thing to do. If he was an ex-Motherwell player and in the Motherwell end then okay, that could be explained. Not the Celtic end though, that's unforgivable in my book. Lastly with MO'H and his background he should be particularly sensitive to this type of thing. We pay his wages, and whatever frustrations he might have with the club there's a new manager coming in and everyone get's a fresh start. Why blow it before Gerrard even sees you train? I think the best I can come up with is to agree with Frankie, MO'H is clearly not very bright.1 point

It could be phased over a few seasons to avoid any reduction in capacity during construction. A forward looking Board could factor in other elements including the upcoming disabled seating requirements, safe standing and the inbuilt structural advantage the Tims have by being able to sell 10k more seats perhaps then the investment required would seem much more realistic than dealing with each item on its own.1 point
