  1. Cummings and Docherty should've come on at half time.

  2. Exactly. Put that same vote to the C1872 members again, except this time include "improved disabled facilities" as an alternative to "standing section" and I am convinced that the vote would be completely different.

  3. It is a pet project, one borne our of one small sub-section of the support. The vote was a yes/no vote - why not give members the opportunity to vote on other alternatives such as disabled facilities ? Why was there no proper consultation done with the C1872 members prior to putting this to a vote - maybe other interest groups would have provided an alternative so that a vote could have actually been meaningful instead of there being just one option.

  4. I don't understand the logic: some seem to be saying, 'he's not going to be a complete player, so let him go'. Forgetting for a moment that every player can improve and progress, a less than complete player can still be a very good squad player; every team needs them.

  5. We've been crying out for a big defender who is commanding in the air, he won most of his challenges yesterday and most of the time keeps it simple and safety first. I think the more games he gets, and hopefully with Martin helping him on his game, he will improve. He's only 21, Scottish and doing very well IMO considering the big jump up from where he has been playing, he deserves a new contract for me.

  8. How many times have the scum dropped points and we've not taken advantage this season? I'd bet 4 or 5. Not good enough.

  9. I have intimated previously that BBC Scotland are now in the habit of telephoning the opposition manager post match. We must welcome this, as license fee paying Rangers supporters, we receive greater coverage of events unfolding at Ibrox. Further, why should supporters of the opposition be denied coverage also, just because that Saturday's fixture list pairs them with BBC Scotland's least favourite team. Thus, since the end of November, we are the beneficiaries of post match interviews with Tommy Wright, Martin Canning, and Owen Coyle. The first two rightfully lionised their teams for deserved wins at Ibrox. Owen utilised the opportunity to complain about a non penalty than only he witnessed. Richard Gordon allowed him full vent. Then, Big Dick's Dandy Dons were battered again, and there was NO post match interview with Derek McInnes. A shame, I would have liked to hear Derek's take on his third consecutive failure this season. However, today the first post match managerial interview on BBC Radio Scotland today(apart from the 12.30 kick-off) was Neil Lennon. A smug Richard allowed Neil to state today's Hibs victory was up there with ra Sellik's CL defeat of Barca in his managerial feats. Sure, it was a sniggerfest for Big Dick and he enjoyed it enormously. It's such a shame he could NOT bring Derek to the phone. There you have it, at best BBC Scotland's post match managerial interviews are triumphalistic, and at least a grievance line. When it gets personally tough, Richard doesn't bother.

  10. Spiers never forgets, particularly where and when he is bested. Back in the day, Jim Traynor spanked him from pillar to post, sans lubrication. Graham is anxious, too anxious to suggest the story is a Traynor invention. Now, Traynor left BBC Scotland because of it's constant need for Rangers bating(remember, when Chief Football Writer for the Herald, Souness banned Traynor for six weeks). Spiers has not appeared on BBC Scotland these last three months because they will not renew his golf show. The Laird of Dunlop is reduced to attending ra Stydome with his two sons. The big cheese is confined to wander between the winds. Graham, you may be windswept, but you are NOT interesting.

  12. This was on the first visit to Dingwall earlier this season. Obviously the reaction to this photo did some good. This time round before kick off I spoke to one of the higher ranking Policemen and asked if us in wheelchairs could go in front of the hoardings and he said yes and he had absolutely no problems or concerns in accommodating such a request. Although you can't work it quite from the above photo this made a massive difference to the view for us wheelchair users. After about 15 minutes a Steward came down and told us all to go back behind the hoardings citing their favourite catch all "Health and Safety", we declined his request citing the Police response, he came back 5 minutes later and asked if the carers would go behind the hoardings a request we acceded to. A wee bit of common sense by all parties which made a huge difference to our view and enjoyment of the game. This lasted till Cummings goal and the invasion of the Neds then the Stewards came en masse and lined up like in the photo above though there was nobody where the 4 Police are grouped in that photo. I just hope the Neds haven't ruined it for any subsequent visit to Victoria Park for us wheelchair users. Tuesday sees us visit Partick Thistle who are moving us out of the front of the Main Stand which I quite liked as it was slightly elevated, sheltered and afforded clear unobstructed views and into the Jackie Husband Stand with the rest of the Rangers fans. It looks to be a decent area and if we can see over those standing up in front of the platform (it's hard to tell from certain from the photos but looks promising) it will a very welcome addition indeed and one like the new St Mirren area puts larger Club's to shame. St Mirren's recent addition in their Main Stand. Nice to see at least some sections of Scottish football taking the matter seriously and showing it's more a case of a willing mind than a fat wallet. News reaches me that UEFA have now started the process of moving the recommendations of the Access For All report http://www.cafefootball.eu/sites/default/files/contentfiles/pdfs/UEFAandCAFEGoodPracticeGuideENG.pdf from being merely guidelines and becoming regulation. I doubt this will be an overnight implementation but it's a most welcome development and can't come round soon enough. Meanwhile the SFA announce that after 2020 all Scotland games, semi-finals and finals will be played at either Hampden or Murrayfield probably the worst to grounds in the country for wheelchair fans. Makes you proud to be Scottish eh?

  13. I'm still gutted tonight and to make it worse, I'll be subjected to several comments/wind ups from Hibs supporting colleagues tomorrow morning. Really, really disappointed with that performance and result yesterday. Are we just going to let every side in green and white walk all over us at Ibrox or are we going to sort it out!!!?

  14. Facebook messenger is good for group work etc. I use it for that (although Whatsapp is preferable) but that’s all. I can’t be bothered with all the “look at me I’m shallow as f@&k” stuff that’s on Facebook. Twitter is ok for keeping up with updates and getting your news first. Whatever source is of interest to you just follow them for their releases. I’m not important enough to be continually on twitter and couldn’t be bothered either.

  15. Same with me re goal but having seen the use of the VAR system(on tv) wouldn't like to be at games where it is used.Certainly have goal line technology but nothing else.

  16. When I read this thread I went back to the tweet from his Mrs - there were only TWO messages in there which were negative, both obviously from Tims. One said "Why is this waste of space not dead yet" - clearly aimed at Gascoigne - and one which some people will agree with given some of his past indiscretions. The other said "Bar L black deck with wife beating jaikey tramp" - I have no idea of the reference to Bar L, presumably it is a certain section of Bar L. But as for the "wife beating jaikey tramp" comment the only thing you could really deny would be the tramp bit. In terms of the Twitter world that is very, very tame. I have seen far, far worse - and sadly, in many cases, from our own. This one is a storm in a teacup, nothing really to see.

  17. I would be angry at my son if I seen him diving in any football match never mind against the team that we used to go and watch together as he grew up.

  18. I know for a fact if I was lucky enough to play against Rangers I’d show them and myself and my family some respect by not trying to cheat and act like a cretin.

  20. If we get rid of everyone who won't go on to be a Rangers great, we may as well pack it all in now. We wouldn't have a single player left.

  21. Fair enough, although some fans are probably a bit more extreme in their support. Diving about and winding up Rangers supporters is a bit beyond doing his job, I'd say.

  25. Exactly mate... its a bit weird, stalkerish when you think about it... I mean why are these folk even following an opposition players wife on twitter?

  26. I agree Big Jaws. But online behaviour suggests many don't. Good luck to Dorrans and I hope his wife ignores the dafties giving her grief.

  27. Here are some things to clear up some talking points. First the Morelos goal. Unfortunately you can clearly see that the ball has not been kickedand Morelos has already brocken the Hibs line. Then there is the penalty incident. First of all the offside rule is pretty difficult these days but I would say that this should have been offside. The Hibs player is definitely in an offside position . The ball is also played in his direction and he is also blocking Foderinghams vision of the shot. I can go further into the penalty incident but it really is a penalty. Not by Allen diving but Tav had his arm around Allen's chest from very early. I will say that Collum may not have given one if Allen never went down. Collum had brought his whistle to his mouth long before Allen went down. Collum was also in a perfect position to see it.

  28. He did dive about for the whole of the time he was on the field dB but with that said he was also pushed for the penalty. He used it to go over with no resistance. Tav was more than stupid in that instance. If you're up against a player who has been doing that all day you simply don't do that or give him an opportunity to use it. More importantly though, in my opinion, I don't share the view of some bears that we were good enough in the second half to win the game. We weren't! We were garbage against Frazerburgh. The three goal victory masked an extremely poor performance by us. They're a highland league side for Christ sake we should have walked over the top of them and strolled that match but we didn't, far from it, we were matched all over the park except in the forward line by them. I had more than a feeling that we were going to be beaten yesterday and its been the same all season. I have no idea what Rangers team is going to turn up in any match we're playing. I find it almost impossible to predict any game we're involved in. Hibs won the game in the midfield yesterday and from the post match interviews Murty obviously knew thats what was going on so why didn't he get a message onto the park during the first half to change it? I'm sorry folks but that is Murtys department he needs to learn to be not only be flexible with his tactics but to also react to any situation when its needed. Leaving the subs till the 70th minute to change the formation and tactics shows an indecisiveness that I don't like.

  29. Possibly, but he's not a replacement for Windass; different players, playing different roles. I think Docherty would be a replacement for Holt; same box-to-box type but with better physical presence and a more direct attacking style. Shame for Holt though, as I think he's been good, but his stature is a big limitation.

  30. By my calculations, in 13 league games at home this season we've scored 20 goals. 7 of those goals were against Dundee & Partick Thistle. That leaves us scoring 13 goals in 11 games against the rest. Is it not obvious where our problems lie ? We are not scoring enough goals at home. That is why I believe we should change our system and play 2 up front.

  31. A box-to-box player that can score goals? I agree with the first part, but how many did he score for Hamilton in 6 years? He scored 6 goals. We're looking for a silver bullet again, and projecting it onto any player that's new.

  32. To be fair that’s just it though. We are not good enough. Inconsistent and some players shouldn’t be there. We are what we are and although better than last season, still not there. Additionally, we had two players out in McCrorie and Jack who would have made a difference today. Our midfield was lightweight and that’s where we lost it. The could cut right through us when they felt like it. Tactically changing things on 70mins seemed a little late as we were all looking for it on 60 (if not before?). However Murty is doing as well as anyone could and it’s his call.

  34. Docherty should start from now on, a box to box player who can score goals. Drop Windass a complete phoney imo.

  36. Our players need to learn how to play alongside Murphy. When he goes past players they need to make runs in behind defenders to allow him to slip the ball thro. Instead they are all congregating in the penalty box surrounded by defenders hoping he'll deliver an inch perfect cross. Murphy is an intelligent, skillful & creative player but he needs players on the same wavelength alongside him.
    1 point
  37. You are correct, Murphy often penetrated 30-40 yards. A constant 10-15 seconds of holding the ball, whilst waiting for a pass/cross to present itself. It didn't happen, instead Murphy traversed 30-40 yards across the Hibs eighteen yard line, to eventually pass the ball to Tav'. I want Windass, demand Windass provides the necessary 10-15 yard diagonals into the opposition box creating the angles. Murphy is shining, the team should be making hay.

  39. Sellik's Joe reminds me of David Icke, both of them receiving despatches from a planet which even the most powerful radio telescopes have failed to discover. Icke, of course, makes a handsome living from peddling such -interplanetary- gibberish; Sellik's Joe, however, discloses the content of these communiques solely in the interests of Truth and Justice, neither seeking, nor receiving, any consideration in return. Still, I do wonder, perhaps cynically, surely uncharitably, if the reports that Joe receives are actually no more than messages in a bottle.

  40. Having seen most of his games for Under 20's (although he was an overage player) I was very surprised that he made the break through to the first team. He has proved me and a lot of others wrong, but to be where we want to be I think we need better. I see parallels with Stephen McManus, having seen a lot of him at youth level I was shocked he broke in to Celtic's first team. Ultimately he turned into a competent defender, captaining Celtic and playing for Scotland. I never thought David Bates would be at Rangers beyond his current contract, but I think he has done well enough to justify a new contract within reason.
