  1. Classic deflection tactics from Rodgers. His team have been playing rubbish since before Xmas, they didn't beat us at home, they haven't done much in the transfer window, are about to get whipped in Europe again. If only we had put a proper manager in place last summer, I believe we could be winning this league. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

  2. I think in the past this behaviour has been described by other clubs as 'over-exhuberance'. Nothing to be concerned about.

  3. Played pretty well there with some nice football at times but, as always, our finishing isn't quite good enough and the game remains in the balance.

  4. Yesterday, the consensus at PQ was that Neil Lennon should be Scotland's next national manager. Cosgrove, English, Gordon, and McLaughlin; all raised the point on several occasions, each reinforcing the point. It was suggested, Regan could recover some popularity by making such a move. Now, Neil gave an interview midweek encouraging the idea, although he added that Hibs would have to agree to it before progress could be made. No doubt, Chris will be tasked to progress Neil's ambition by interviewing Rod Petrie and Leeann Dempster. I seem to remember Neil's well publicised battle with depression, his constant struggle to beat his addictive nature being aided by day-to-day involvement in football. I cannot see six games a year helping his fight with the Black Dog? Further, and I am surprised at such sensitive, right-on, trendy chaps like Cosgrove, English, ..... etc dismissing Neil's two well highlighted incidents bullying and threatening the women in his life. Once at ra Sellik, and the other at Bolton. Promising by text message to make one pregnant girlfriend, "feel pain", and plainly stating to another, "I will kill you"; is not the type of role model wanted for young impressionable Scots? Different strokes for different folks, particularly at Pacific Quay.

  6. Glasgow to Dingwall is just over a four-hundred-mile round trip and it has a population that is under six thousand. While there you can take in the Dingwall museum, Pefferside park and the Hector McDonald Monument to name but a few of its attractions. The main attraction for all those bears traveling north this Sunday with be Victoria Park, now known as the Global Energy Check Stadium. This is the home of Ross County who entered the highland league in 1929 and were then admitted to the third division of Scottish football in 1994. Nicknamed “The Staggies” which is taken from their badge which bears a stag’s head. This signifies the Seaforth Highlanders regimental badge which many of the inhabitants had fought in the great war with. Over the years we have enjoyed battles of a different kind with Ross County on the football pitch. We met only a few weeks ago at Ibrox where we ran out 2-1 winners with goals from Morelos and Wilson cancelling an early tenth minute strike from the Staggies. I had missed this match due to being “festive” for a few days however i remember being very relieved when watching the Saturday results come in. I had been informed that the first half display did nothing to assist in warming those at Ibrox up in what was a bitterly cold December day. It was one of those days where we were simply glad to take three points and move on. It will be a reasonably early start this Sunday for all bears traveling north with a 2pm kick off time. The capacity of 6,541 will be mostly filled with the away support as we continue to follow in tremendous numbers wherever we go. Owen Coyle who is the new County manager would love nothing more than a victory over Rangers. Being a well know supporter of one of Glasgow’s other teams will add extra motivation for him. However, with their current league position anchored at the bottom and three points adrift of Partick Thistle in the play-off position, I fancy that a draw would suit him fine. In light of this I suspect we will have a tough ninety mints where we will have to be solid both physically and mentally. Of course, playing for Rangers requires these attributes in every match and with our new arrivals in the window they will be made aware of these high expectations. The acquisition of Russell Martin, Jamie Murphy, Jason Cummings, Greg Docherty and Sean Goss all look to be very good business from Graeme Murty and Mark Allen. With the exception of Docherty, who has only just signed yesterday, we had a glimpse of Cummings and much more of a look at Goss, Martin and Murphy on Wednesday night where we outplayed Aberdeen again. It was a great way to start back after the winter shutdown which is just horrible. There is nothing worse with being stuck in the middle of January with no football for three weeks. However, the clubs and players seem to enjoy it and we can’t argue as the side looked rejuvenated, rested and hungry to get back into action. The first half seemed anyone’s for first ten minutes but then we took hold of the game and deservedly took the lead through Morelos. Alfredo does miss his fair amount of chances but he never lets it get to him. He doesn’t hide and as all great strikers do he goes looking for the next chance. All and every striker misses easy chances, Morelos has the mental strength to put this aside and move on to the next one with no baggage. He is one heck of a prospect and the recent £10 million price tag put on him by media sources, and being mentioned by others seems very good value. In all honesty his value and potential are showing abilities that would command a higher fee than £10m should anyone come calling in the summer? It was a great performance all round on Wednesday and not one player performed badly. After we scored number two in the second half through a Tavernier penalty Aberdeen did come back into the match but found incredible defending from Bates and Tavernier in particular. Wes was in outstanding form too and he is looking like a top-class goalkeeper again. So, we take our momentum and good form and onto this Sunday. Will see any changes from the team the performed so well on Wednesday? Perhaps but I suspect not as the 4-2-3-1 formation is serving us well and we will hope Murphy and Candeias can unlock them down the flanks. Goss looked comfortable beside Holt which allowed Windass to get forward to support Morelos. The back four remain the same with Tav, Martin, Bates and John with Wes in goal. This leaves us options on the bench which is pleasing as we can see some creativity not only on the pitch but waiting in the wings if needed. There is an upbeat mood around the club at the moment. Good business done so far and the side look comfortable on the park. Either the jerseys seem to have shrunk to fit or more probably our side have grown and realised that they have the belief confidence and ability to be a Ranger. I predict a tough match on Sunday and it will be physical. Rangers to win by two goals to one for me with that man Morelos on the scoresheet again. C’mon eh Bears!

  7. Regards today, pleased with win but would like to see Murty change the system to accommodate both Morelos & Cummings. Would probably mean going to a 3-5-2

  8. Trust a woman to be hopeless !!! My kid is at auchenhowie training this evening.... and the first team bus arrives back and all she says is “a massive bus just showed up”. So I tell her it’s the first team getting back and to get some autographs for the kid.... she says “I don’t recognize anyone”...despite having a ST she recognizes ONE player, Cummings (I guess I shouldn’t be surprised as she’s a Hibby....) The only other thing she noticed ??? “I parked beside a car with a GOSS number plate” - I shit you not - when she then proceeds to say “for sure it was him because he’s kinda cute”.... I guess she recognized two players then....

  9. People forget these are young players , they will make mistakes and be inconsistent , that's why we need to be patient

  10. depends on the situation. Back to goal and defender pressing from behind, Morelos is good at shielding the ball and laying off. Cummings looked better holding when facing the goal and moving forward if we play both up front I can see el buffalo dragging defenders wide creating space for Cummings like he did for pena

  11. I have no issue agreeing to disagree Ian. The Bates handball was de-bates-able Seriousky, the Bates handball could have gone either way. We would be screaming for a penalty if it were at the other end of the pitch. the Martin one though was as blatant a non-penalty as you can get. He is turned away from it, arms aren’t outstretched and it is blasted at him from close range !!

  15. Blunder from the County keeper for the goal, it was a good strike but straight at him so really should have saved it, then the keeper has a couple of good saves after that, we should be a couple of goals more to the good. Decent performance so far against a stuffy side and Goss has stood out a mile in the middle, class player.

  21. Is he wrong ? There are too many referees in Scotland not up to the required standard We've been on the wrong end of some howlers of refereeing decisions this season. Just wish we had persons within our club who would come out & say so

  23. I wish the fans would stick to older songs and ditch the Ultra efforts. Watched the cup tie in Cardiff after our game and half the songs sounded the same. We have the greatest songbook going...no need to nick generic songs from anywhere else.

  25. I thought the fans were tossers to be honest, jeez it’s Ross County not Barcelona. But you both make a very good point, there’s nothing the football authorities can do after Fir Park and Hampden.

  26. I'd never heard of Billy Fullarton till I joined this forum,IMHO I too thought the Billy referred to King Billy. What is totally unacceptable to me is the use of FTP in songs and things like f***k Bobby Sands he's deid and even God Save the Queen in the Blue Blue Sea Of Ibrox.there is no need for it and any such associated insertion of these words in other singing.

  27. From John Stevens( pzj ), http://www.twitlonger.com/show/n_1sqdp90?new_po What is all the noise about the Billy Boys? Again we are witnessing another frenzy in the media & political circles which is raising it's head again surrounding the issue of sectarianism. This of course was & is in response to the repeal of a draconian act which saw football fans criminalised for singing songs. The issue of sectarianism is of course a very ambiguous one as the songs or words that were criminalising football fans had so many & where open to so many interpretations that some of the decisions made by the judicial system were quite simply incredible. Sectarianism definition '' strongly supporting a particular religious group and not willing to accept other beliefs'' By definition the whole world & all faiths could be described as sectarian according to the Cambridge dictionary definition of the word. But I want to focus on the one song that everybody whether politicos or the Scottish media always turns it's attention on & shines it's particular light on when the issue of sectarianism is raised in Scotland. The Billy Boys. Now let us be very clear from the outset of the discussion. Some have attempted to associate this song with a certain Billy Fullerton. This is another anachronistic attempt by those who would do anything to smear the name of Rangers or anything they perceive to be Protestant/Unionist/Loyalist. Make no mistake I know of not one person old or young who have sung the song who believed whether in their youth or adulthood that Billy Fullerton was the ''Billy'' in the Billy Boys. In fact a quick glance over the scant information there is on Billy Fullerton's life also reveals that Fullerton named his gang & of course the chant after the memory of his glorious majesty King William the third. But that fact does not fit the narrative or the agenda of a willing political & media world determined to criminalise those who they perceive as Unionist/Protestant. The offending part of the Billy Boys is of course the mention of the word ''******'' in the song. Now we know the hypocrisy of the media in Scotland & the fact they have no issue with others being up to their knees in blood. It is of course the fact that is ****** blood. Now here again they have anachronistically brought this word into mean someones ethnicity or religion. Despite the fact that the majority of those who are offended at this word or neither Irish or practising catholic. Now let us make this very clear. ''******'' has never or ever will define or describe a person's ethnicity or religion. From the outset of the establishment of Fenianism the catholic church for example excommunicated these people who had a warped & criminal mind who had an ideology that was very simple in its operation. Murder & mayhem. Throughout the recent troubles in Northern Ireland this same excommunication comes to a clear light when you witnessed the church at war with the inheritors of the warped ****** ideology by refusing to bury these murderers in their paramilitary garb. So the question is was the catholic church excommunicating this grouping on religious grounds? Was the Irish priest excluding these people on the basis of their ethnicity or religious belief? Now we hear the old argument that words evolve & can have new meanings. This is what I mean by anachronistically bringing in a word that had another meaning & placing it to mean something else & this has been amplified in the case of ******. Now it has become in the world of the media & politicians in Scotland & of course Northern Ireland to define a person's belief or ethnicity. Neither is correct & neither is accurate. Today in this present time those who celebrate the murderous campaigns of these sectarian zealots which the fenains began clearly demonstrate themselves what they believe the word to mean & actually have it correct. Today you can merchandise with the words ''unrepentant ****** b____d'' with of course the obligatory armalite accompanying the slogan. Now you do not need to be a genius to work out what it is defining. The ''fenians'' were a grouping'' who did not represent the people of Ireland. They were outside normal Irish society & were not representative of the Irish people. They certainly did not represent the catholic church. So as the title goes in this post & the questions asked what has ''******'' got to do with someones ethnicity or religious belief? What has the Billy Boys got to do with Billy Fullerton who many contemporaries believed he took the name of Billy in the song to mean William of Orange?

  39. The idea is to applaud your own fans; a 'thanks for your support' type thing. I like the idea, but it's not part of the culture so it won't catch on any time soon. Klopp was criticised because Liverpool had drawn, but applauded the fans "as if they'd won". It's a nice touch, and it works really well in Germany; it really creates a bond between players and fans -- especially those players that are not brought up in the culture of the club.
