Written by: Nathan Robert Tuesday, 23rd January 2018 Several news media sources have continually printed lies, half-truths and misunderstandings about the Offensive Behaviour at Football and Threatening Communications (Scotland) Act 2012. The legislation is itself a half-baked quagmire pushed through with little thought given to the civil liberties of citizens. The purpose of this short article is to clear the air with regards to several aspects of the legislation, as a means of protecting Rangers fans from unjust prosecution. The information presented has been acquired from Police Scotland through a series of freedom of information requests. http://www.vanguardbears.co.uk/article.php?i=174&a=offensive-behaviour-at-football-act-2012---what-you-need-to-know3 points

We need to finish above them in the league to legitimately claim that2 points

Another game with me wondering what Aberdeen have to do to get a player booked.2 points

I'm strangely happy with the Docherty move -- it seems to tick a few boxes. Now it is up to him to do the job on the pitch.2 points

I would like us to keep him and play him if we knew when his top class defender attitude was switched on. The problem is that we just never know and that will cost us. He has the ability, but not the consistency and that's not good enough for our first eleven. I don't think he's willing to take a backup role.2 points

All of them have been open to supporters so far, so no reason for this one not to be pete2 points

All signs point to it going through today (though I don't think the player will feature as he's injured).2 points

Losing Jack and McCrorie does leave us light in central midfield (in terms of more combative players). I guess this is why Halliday was brought back and why Rossiter seems to have his recuperation stepped up. Goss looks a good player but I suspect he's more suited to games where teams are sitting in and we need to create stuff as opposed to battling the likes of Shinnie and Brown. Tonight will give us a good idea of how Murty intends to address this.2 points

But we weren't 3 or 4 up by half time. We were very wasteful in front of goal. We were never out of sight in that game tonight despite dominating the game. Until we finish off teams like we should have done tonight we can forget about winning the title1 point

They're scarcely third best in Scotland. Their fans are so far out of touch with reality they were declaring they had a better transfer window than us. And that somehow it's "agent McInnes" fault that we beat them. The reality is we're simply a far better team and another reality is I will never understand why McInnes decided to stay with them. They have no respect for him and it's a dead end job for any young manager with real ambition.1 point

I think the team in general are getting better all the time. This was all the more impressive given that it was the first competitive match in weeks and included a clutch of debutantes.1 point

Thought we played very well tonight. Goss impressed again. Very composed and assured on the ball. Windass proves again that he must play as the “10”. No failures tonight at all.... could give every single player plaudits. Tempo was right. Pressure was right. The CB’s didn’t really give them a sniff all night other than those rapid fire Wes saves. You can see the desire to do well now that there is more competition for starting slots.1 point

We need to win the battle in the first 10-15 minutes and earn the right to play football. Halliday might just have enough fight in him to help win that right enough. That's never what he lacks. It's the lack of positional sense that's his problem. He's fine when the opposition has the ball, but when we have it, he seems to lose discipline and then is out of position during a quick counter attack. I think it's probably because he always wants to find space and help build an attack, rather than provide the cover we need if we lose the ball. Aberdeen will not sit back tonight, but they will try to hit us quickly on counters too. If our forward players can be alert enough to react to us winning the ball back during such a counter attack, I've noticed that Aberdeen always overcommit players and we have a real chance to make them pay. That's why I really hope Goss plays. He can find that pass to Morelos or Windass quickly and directly. Equally, Murphy has the skill to take them on and find the man in the box so we need to make sure we have enough players moving in the box for the crosses. I can't wait.1 point

Don't forget Martin can give good cover at right back, rather than just be a third choice CB. That means Tavernier can move forward.1 point

I thought Halliday gave us a bit extra drive in the Florida Cup, and given the absence of Jack and McCrorie, I wonder if he might be in with a chance of starting tonight against a very physical team. I'd also start Bates at the back - Aberdeen are very direct and play lots of long balls... exactly the stuff he seems to revel in.1 point

He's a tremendous entertainer alright. I had a table in a club deck box for a number of years and Willie was our resident "host". Some of the performances he put on for us would challenge anything he did on the park!1 point

Delighted if this agent-planted story becomes true. Was happy when he signed but 2.5 years of dross with a few good games theown in just as contract talks are starting is not the sort we want hanging around. The "Ricksen effect" - play well within yourself (polite talk for garbage) until your deal is nearly up, play your best stuff until your new deal is signed, and then revert back to type. The only thing wrong in all of this is us offering him a new contract at all, and not trying to move him on for a fee when we moved the other half of the bumble bros (Kiernan) in the summer. In no huge fan of Martin given his Scotland performances (thats all i've seen of him), but if he is coming in and Wilson is going out and there is not much difference in wages, we have improved the first team for free.1 point

I'd keep Wilson. Like Ian, I have my doubts over him (his concentration at times is dreadful) but he's also a top class defender when he turns up. Add in his club-trained status then that's useful for European squads.1 point

It appears I'm in the minority with regards to Wilson. I can't believe YOU'RE ALL WRONG?!1 point

I'm not really interested in any 'greater good'. My argument is totally self interested. I want Scottish football to be competitive and, dare I say it, interesting. I do pay to watch it. Both clubs already have massive advantages over the competition. How many more do we need?1 point

Internet trolls will only make Rangers signing Jason Cummings even more determined to succeed at Ibrox. Some Hibernian fans have given the striker flak on social media for moving to the Glasgow club on loan six months after being sold to Nottingham Forest. "Down there it was easy, but up in Scotland everyone seems to give you a bit more abuse and a bit more stick," said the 22-year-old. "But I'm used to it now. It drives me on. It makes me want to do better." An internet clip of Cummings play-fighting Scottish wrestler Grado went viral last year. "It's all fun and games off the pitch," said the striker, who could make his debut when Aberdeen visit Ibrox on Wednesday. "But, when I'm on the pitch, I'm 100% concentrated." Cummings, who won his first Scotland cap as a late substitute in a November friendly against Netherlands, was signed for Forest by former Rangers manager Mark Warburton. But, with the Englishman being sacked last month, Cummings has been told by successor Aitor Karanka he is no longer required after 17 appearances and four goals for the Championship club. "Getting more game time was one of the main reasons for coming here," he said. "It's no fun sitting in the stand or on the bench. "I know I should be playing. I don't want to be wasting away down there, so when I heard Rangers had come in, I couldn't turn it down." Cummings' move is with a view to a permanent transfer at the end of the season. "I don't know what will happen with Forest in the summer," he stressed. "I'm going to enjoy this six months at Rangers first then see how it goes. "After that, I'll have a chat with the gaffer at Forest and see what he thinks. "My confidence is always sky high, so that won't be a problem after what happened at Forest. "I like a bit of pressure and expectation to win. My character fits perfectly to playing for Rangers. "Rangers create loads and loads of chances so I'm just going to be hanging about the six-yard box looking to tap them in." Rangers and Aberdeen will be meeting for the first time since Dons boss Derek McInnes rejected the chance to become manager at Ibrox. Development squad head coach Graeme Murty has since been promoted to the manager's role until the end of the season but thinks the circumstances will not add too much spice to the occasion. "The atmosphere will be tasty, but they always are in these games," he said. http://www.bbc.com/sport/football/427924821 point
