  1. That's just nonsense. At the time we were signing guys like Butcher and even Gough & Amoruso, Scottish football was as rich as the English leagues. The advent of Sky and their bottomless supply of money to the English game has resulted in even mediocre players preferring to stay in England because the money is far better there. FFS, League One players are getting paid more than our biggest earners - yet you are trying to compare then and now with Norwich and Rangers ? Get a sense of reality at least.

  2. If it was a straight choice between Naismith and Cummings (and it could well have been) then in terms of age and fitness Cummings is the obvious choice.

  3. I don't think we've missed Miller and Cummings should see him down the pecking order. I've pretty much given up on Rossiter but good luck to the lad, I'd love to see him eventually get a run of games.

  5. i don't get this "the Scottish League is 18 divisions below the Championship" I think Rangers and Celtic would be up near the top of the Championship if we were in it. i even think we wouldn't be in the relegation zone of the premier league. We beat Watford easily pre-season and yes we were further on than them but you cannot tell me that professional players get so unfit after 3 weeks holiday.

  6. Holy smokes. You put dB's positivity to shame and make him look like the most negative person on the forum (which he isn't by miles). That aside, the above just simply isn't true. Or at least some of it. Murphy hasn't proven anything at Rangers as yet so to say he is better than Sinclair is silly at this point. Likewise with Martin and Cummings (indeed, this one shows just how biased you are.... Griffiths has scored regularly for Celtic, has scored for Scotland too - Cummings hasn't, as yet, played any meaningful minutes in the top flight in any country and has scored once for Notts Forest - and yet you have labelled him better than Griffiths). And that is just a couple. As dB says below, talk about blue-tinted glasses. Also, for the record and seeing as you seem to be new to the forum - this forum is one of decency and respect so can you, unless you actually have proof, refrain from calling people retards or mongoloids. Can you also refrain from the use of words such as taig. Politically correct we may be, but that is how we run the forum.

  7. I think we've ruined it for ourselves with the expectation we've place on Alves. I would argue he's been a very good player for us: wins every ball in the air, tough tackler, reads the game well, can hit superb long-passes and he is a leader; what more do we actually need? Martin will be similar, but we've not placed the same expectation on him so we'll probably think he's a superstar after his first tough tackle!

  8. That's a good move for the lad. Hopefully he gets regular games at this level.

  10. To be honest we only got the English players because English teams were banned from Europe.

  11. Beg to differ. Based on the last game against Savco, we're further ahead of them. - Gordon is not any better than Fod - even Mutton doesn't rate Gordon. - It's a joke how much they overrate Tiernay and, as was obvious in the scum game, Tav is a class above him. - Both Wallace and John are miles better than Lustig - even the Savconians consider him crap. - Boyata is a bombscare. Martin is better. - Ajer is not as good as Wilson. - Broon is a pig of a footballer who even the rabid taig English says gets away with the dirtiest fouls. McCrorie is better. - McGregor is crap and not as good as Holt. - Armstrong is playing awful, Jack and Dorrans are much better players. - Never seen Forrest have a good game against us, and he never covers for the fullback. Candeias works harder and covers for the fullback. He's better. - Sinclair is highly overrated, does not cover for the fullback, and shites it. Murphy is better. - I don't usually criticize the mentally retarded but the mongoloid Griffiths can't even get a game for them; he, like Hooper before him, is really overrated. Cummings is better. - Dembele is not interested in playing for Savco. He's lazy and highly overrated. Morelos is a fantastic wee player. Works his ass off, and just happens to be the top scorer in Scotland. Take him over Dembele any day. - Murty has managed two games against Brenda, has not lost, and should have won both. Looks to me, Selmy, contrary to what you suggested, that none of these Savco players could get into the Rangers first team.

  16. A "rhetorical" question, when making signings do we get players who will be the same as they are with the club whom they are signed?,it's a case of suck it and see at first.

  18. Yes, but what it does is take genuine posts from Kerrydale Street and repost them in the parody account. The original post was from "laudrupshair" which isn't a parody account.

  21. Just like that Davie Weir player too. On the fringes of the Everton 1st team and we signed him. What a disaster that turned out to be.

  22. As I keep saying if we signed Naismith would we be getting the same player who left in 2012?

  30. Is there some really good acid floating about just now? Aye, we can close the gap but we're well off their points tally. We've lost to Hamilton, Dundee and Killie recently.

  31. No, we are not forgiving him for his “new club” pish to justify him doing a runner.

  32. He's still only 20. Sometimes players develop later. Sir Alex always wanted youngsters to be established players by 23, and anything prior is just the development phase. I'd give him a new contract, but if we do sell him I hope we include a buy-back clause -- Barcelona use that to great affect.

  33. I don't think it's as bad as that: he's not getting a game not because he's not good enough, but because the manager prefers the style of others. He's been average at beast for Scotland.

  35. I can't believe we didn't sign Naismith either. This is a guy who was performing to a high level in one of the best leagues in the world not long ago, and playing in Scotland is like dropping down about 18 divisions. So long as Naismith has some amount of fitness, he's about to look a world beater again - mark my words. And are we really still blaming any of these players for 'walking away' knowing what we know now? Goodness gracious me.

  36. He has excellent potential and would be a great signing, the kind of player we should be looking to sign, it would be a coup if we got him, however as with any player we never know.
