I wont be voting for it, on exactly those grounds. C1872 should be looking at more than just safe standing and offering alternatives for any excess funds that may be available. Shouldn't be a simple "vote yes/no for safe standing" - should be a vote for : 1. Safe standing 2. Improving disabled facilities 3. Retaining excess cash for share issues Point being - it shouldn't be a "take it or leave it" vote. There is more than one thing that could be improved at the Club and I don't believe C1872 should offer up a vote with only 1 suggestion. IMHO of course.

Surely nobody believes singing the Billy boys is a part of the Rangers Heritage. It is a good anthem and it does get the crowd going and I personally like hearing it but to say it is a part of our heritage is pushing the boat out a little. Get rid of the fenian blood and it can be sung again without fear of arrest. Whether rightly or wrongly.

Sensible deal - on loan first to see if he is good enough to buy. Quite interesting signings in January then, Murphy, Cummings and Goss. The first thing Id imagine is they will give 100% and know what the league is like rather than Pena and Herrera.

I think Cummings is a decent addition. For those moaning that the players wouldn’t get into the Celtic team, I don’t think they’d be far off. They aren’t anywhere near as good as the press makes them put to be. None of them are stick out players for me and I don’t think with a bit of development and good management, some of the players we’ve got can’t be better than them. Maybe I’m just being over-optimistic though.

It's true that nothing beats "Hullo Hullo" being belted out by 40k fans. What is also true is that football authorities at home & abroad believe it to be unacceptable to sing. That being the case, why not just change the words - remove the parts that the authorities deem to be offensive. If nothing "offensive" is being sung, folk can try & complain, but ultimately there is nothing to complain about..... Remove any religious connotations & make it about The Club....

That's the thing about the way that C1872 poll the members. They won't be given that as a choice. It will just be a yes or no option on safe standing, with most people not realising that there's a choice of spending it elsewhere or increasing the shareholding, as Bearger highlights above.

Now that the new software is in place we have been talking in the background for some time now about trying to put a Gersnet Podcast together. We would like to know if anyone has any technical experience with podcasts and we would also be interested in anyone who would like to take part. Iv got to say I would have been happy with Martin, Murphy and Docherty to strengthen the squad, but to be getting Cummings and possibly Jones as well, this transfer window will have been a massive success, not forgetting Goss as well, who I thought was a bit of an underwhelming signing, has looked pretty good from what I have seen of him, anyone that signs from now on is a bonus. There is a real feel good factor about the club just now, the florida cup also looks to have been a massive success and the squad look as if they were enjoying themselves and there is a real unity. Hopefully the second half of the season is a success. What do people think our chances are now should we get these guys over the line. Iv got to say if Celtic don't strengthen I can see us running them close. Don't want to start talk of the league title but its difficult not to get excited with everything that's going on at the minute.

I think the fact that we stayed at the IMG academy in florida was a signal of the work/influence of AJ, if not the invite to go over there in the first place... Encouraging, but we've heard rumours of investment from ITK people before - e.g. the HK bears. Certain words, phrases, intent, can lead to prosecutions under the SNP's anti-football fan act (I know its not called that but that is effectively what it is). The police and leading legal people behind the act consistently refused to be drawn into making up a list, simply because they knew that as soon as you had a list a new song would be sung, very similar to the banned ones, that were not on the list, and make a mockery of the banned list. I got that straight from them in meetings I had with them when this was being brought in, so its not hearsay or my opinion.

Great attitude indeed. I think he's young enough to be given more time. I think he's OK technically, but he needs to be better with the physicality, and the 1-on-1's.

I actually quite like Cardoso. He is still young and the fickle fans were lauding him at the start of the season but a few poor games and a long injury has harshly went against him. I still think he can be an important player.
