  1. Past hour
  2. Forest whacked the post twice and nearly shattered the crossbar plus they had a superb move in the opening minutes of the second half ending with a rocket shot inches wide. The only consolation is that City are more likely than Forest would have been to defeat Palace in the final.
  3. Sounds like Jock Wallace even if he doesn’t look like Jock Wallace.
  4. Marco Rose quote “The basic ideas behind my playing philosophy are emotionality, hunger and being active. We want to be very active against the ball, sprint a lot. We want to win high balls and have short ways to the goal. We don’t want to play high and wide, but fast, dynamic and actively forward. This all sounds really awesome, but it’s gonna take time to develop these things, I’ve always played a diamond when I’ve had the opportunity to do it, bringing in two strikers. Our system, even when we play with all three up front, is something like a diamond.” I’m a fan of his work especially when he was with Dortmund. Whoever it is like previous people have said needs to know our football club and what we as fans want and that is to win every single game regardless if it’s a friendly or not.
  5. Today
  6. Suppose so but just as boring.
  7. A big difference between their back shufflers than our lot
  8. Watched Arsenal game other night with them stde and back passing guess what???- they also seem like they are finishing second too.
  9. Rice is not a kid, he is eighteen and has had half a dozen apearances this year. Three in the league and three in europe and has yet to show anything that makes me think he could improve us. He is not blessed with pace, no great touch/skill and does not split defences with great passes. I'd like to see Nsio get half a dozen chances to impress.
  10. Clement shaved the same amount off the wage bill that he spent, so did he really get a net spend at all. I don't think so.
  11. I've jumped the gun, clearly. You seem to have made up your mind rather early, though.
  12. Your looking at this the wrong way. Off course beating Celtic twice means nothing if we can't beat St Mirren. However, if we can beat Celtic, why can't we beat St Mirren? We've also managed to finish top 8 in EL this season, so how can we achieve that, yet lose to Queens Park. The obvious answer is we don't play a style that opens teams up unless they attack us - and that's down to fitness and coaching. Unless someone can tell me another reason?
  13. Whos written him off ? All I said was right now I dont see what he offers , we have loads of negative players who can play a square or backwards balls all day , probably a lot on here could. Hope he goes on to great things but right now its all hype.
  14. It is, its what Celtic do. Tell me, how successful have they been over the last 14 seasons compared to us?
  15. Like who? Name them and tells why they deserve to be in the team? Our youth development is another failed part of thr footballing part of the business. Whisper it, there aren't any Barry Ferguson, Billy Gilmour or Nathan Patterson waiting to burst onto the scene. Well, unless you can tell us otherwise. The secret to their success is making the correct appointments (Lennon apart), getting most player signings correct, getting to CL group stages and having a player trading model. That, with 13 years continuing success gives them sustainability.
  16. Of course the more you pay for a player doesn’t guarantee anything but our recent record of looking around for bargain basement signing & OOC’s has bombed spectacularly too often e.g proper, Souttar, Lawrence etc beating Celtic twice means nothing if we’re 17 points behind them
  17. It's so simple 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
  18. There are four games left. Youngsters who are considered potential for next season should get significant game time, period. Rarely do we get opportunities (dead rubbers) to do so. When they arise, you should take advantage. Will that mean an under 20 team for the Celtic game, no. You have the secret to catch up quickly, you are a message board genius. I said we need to concentrate on becoming sustainable as a business. That is the secret of their success. We faff about trying shortcuts every year and get nowhere. Other than when they took their eye off the ball, appointed Lennon and badly fcuked up a transfer window. We weren't able to build on that because not being a sustainable well run business, we were broke.
  19. Can't you read? I'm sticking up for BR. It's called protecting them. Just read this thread. If we played our U20 team on next Sunday and they lost heavily, they'd be crucified and would be no way back for them. Glad you think exposing them to this is they way to develop them And you've yet to tell us which youngsters we should play and what they'd bring to the team. Or is it just any youngster? As for it being simplistic, your the one telling us we can't match them due to money - make your mind up Mr FlipFlop.
  20. And why not, as we've found out to our cost (sic) the price of a player doesn't necessarily mean quality. It's about spending what we have wisely (£4.5M on Cortes) and having them coached properly, their fitness improved and playing a style of football that will break teams down. We have beaten Celtic twice this season so if we'd matched their record against the "rest" we'd be battling for a championship.
  21. Our net spend was far higher than theirs. They have been selling players for relatively big money. We sold 5 and loaned out 4 for 810,000. It was so low because we had to payoff players to leave. This will apply to a fair few this summer as well.
  22. You’re not seriously suggesting when they’re spending £30m and we’re spending a fraction of that we should expect to finish above them? Until our finances change or we somehow unearth better players from somewhere at low cost then second is about as good as we’ll get at the moment. I don’t particularly like that but that’s how things are at the moment
  23. Shouldn't be thinking of giving talented youngsters a chance of significant minutes in dead rubbers, heaven forbid !! Listen to Cammy, he knows. But don't worry because everything will work out apparently. It is straightforward, all we need is to get all the appointments and signings right. If only we had known that before.
  24. Personally I think he would have loved to wear the blue shirt but wasn't good enough then as a manager first with the Pars then with Hibs he produced very good teams playing some really attractive football and getting results but he found he wasn't getting any recognition because the back pages back then was all Rangers when he took over at Celtic his first job was to remove Rangers from that back page some may remember them bringing in some Brazilian boys useless they were but created a back page story from nothing he was also sick of the telly boys Thompson and Montford even pulling Thompson into his Parkhead office to chin him about biased commentary even in an after match press conference anytime we won he'd never concede we were the better team on the day he had more suttle excuses than a man who'd shit the bed add that to his bullying of officials it didn't start with the last rain shower he started what they have now perfected ,a truly ghastly man .
  25. To hell with it, nevermind all these non-Rangers minded managers, let's go get David Healey - uber-staunch appointment
  26. City just pass you into defeat it can be a tad boring at times sometimes I yearn for a good long ball and a chase through the middle
