What a team! Lack of direction stymied abundance of talent. Here’s another good team that fell at the final play-off qualifier against Czechoslovakia in 1961. 2-4 after extra time. Connachan, Hamilton, Caldow, Crerand, Ure, Greig, Brand, White, St John, Law, Robertson. Eddie Connachan (Dunfermline) and Hugh Robertson (Dundee) were brought in for the injured Bill Brown and Davy Wilson. Had those two been fit, I’m sure Scotland would have won. Baxter was injured too so Greig got his place. Brand was in for Alex Scott also injured but at the peak of his form. Brand was a winger in his early days so his selection didn’t weaken the side too much. The Czechs went on to lose the Final in Chile 1-3 to Brazil.

I still find it hard to believe that we had players like these blokes yet never got to a world cup finals

I don't know why fans should get upset about an IRA/Sinn Fein man in Ibrox that war is over the gubs won the day Tony Blair's government surrendered by signing up to the good Friday document in doing so giving mass murderers on both sides of the divide exemption for all crimes committed
-
Big night for Arsenal can they stop madrid from making a comeback will three goals be enough it should be but Arsenal are prone to disasters and can Minich get a result in Milan a goal down will be hard the italians are good on the break
-
Can say that again.
-
Dont expect directors to vet anyone, but I think the club should have some governance around who gets PR and pictures with club ambassadors inside Ibrox. In a way we were lucky it was some Irish Republican that sneaked in, could you image the self loathing many support would have for themselves if it was a unionist equivalent? The daily record would have a field day. The everyone anyone loyal would be queuing up at the doors to have a pop at our dyed in the wool blue nose custodians.
-
Sadly the club is nowhere near the club we all knew and were brought up on.
-
I’m not saying that at all, I’m saying we should measure ourselves by our standards. Which seem to have been long forgotten sadly.

Never thought I'd see a day when success for Rangers fans was thwarting and Aberdeen win -

Nothing from BBC PQ about Sundays game? maybe 26th of foot will soon enlighten us ? 😛 -
Let's hope we don't manage to hand them their next tainted title at Ibrox. The rest is just as expected from the SPFL.
-
.... maybe you did not seem trustworthy? Anyway, not everyone is as clued-up as some Bluenoses about the pedigree of this or that person who they meet at social events and, what was it, DeterMND activities?
-
The post you replied to was about the directors, and the title of the thread is blaming them as well (hence my question). From Stan Gordon's post, I just don't see what the club could have done under these specific circumstances. Yes, we want to lash out and blame someone, but do we really want to be the club that vets every single person that does charity work and a major contributor asks for access to the stadium (which I presume was what happened)? Are you really saying that we should measure ourselves by their standards?
-
I never said directors. If the toilets aren’t clean I don’t expect the directors to clean them. I do however expect them to create the correct structure to ensure the toilets are clean. Ask yourself if you think the same thing would have happened across the city with someone involved in a pro union death cult getting photos taken with Tom Boyd’s stupid face. You know it wouldn’t.
-
If someone at the club was told that Andy Smillie had arranged for a charity to lay a wreath, and by the way, could they be allowed into the stadium for a quick photo, are we really going to turn round and insist on a list of people attending and then google who they are, when AS has asked for it and it's for charity? I can't really see what anyone has done wrong other than AS perhaps being a bit too trusting, but even then it's for charity.
-
No wonder! You're always criticising them🤣🤣.
-
If the fans are expecting the directors to sit down and vet everyone who enters Ibrox then no wonder the club is so badly run.
