Clement was given peanuts to spend last summer while Celtic were spending £30m.
-
If it's wholly innocent, as you seem to imply, why shouldn't he explain? On the other hand.....
-
Is that the only reason? Did he hate us when he played for them? Before then? When he managed Dunfermline?
-
To be fair the youth/amateur set up in Scotland nowadays does them no favours. After u18 if they don’t get picked to play for any of the u21 sides affiliated to any of the clubs in the pyramid structure they have to go to amateur. Many aren’t ready for amateur football and others just pack the game in altogether. I believe there may be moves afoot to change this though
-
He was Celtic manager.
-
I think you'll wait a long time for an explanation if he gets appointed. If the next Rangers manager is successful I don't think most of us will care where his "affections" lie.
-
Any idea why?
-
Same numbers just dont play the game now , and its only going to get worse.
-
He hated Rangers
-
If he has sellik sympathies, it remains a 'No' from me. It would, actually, be incredibly disappointing if the best that we could get was someone with a degree of affection for our enemies. Not that it matters, none of us have any influence. I await an explanation for the bizarre photograph, from him, once he is in situ.
- Today
-
Villa were right off it yesterday. Today Forest v City poor so far. Many empty seats at the City end.
-
As far as I can see, he (Rose) doesn't have any indiscretions. Unless having a Celtic scarf on for a few minutes after wiping the floor with them counts. It's all hypothetical anyway as we don't know if he will get the job, or even be considered.
-
Although Stein was a member of the same Lodge as my grandfather, I don't know if he had leanings towards Rangers. He had played for the fhilth in the 50s, on the other hand. If Marco Rose could be as successful with Rangers as Stein was with them, I think many people would feel able to forgive him many, if not all, indiscretions.
-
You mentioned players tho.... Sure Jock Stein OK for them.
-
They did. Neither were/are a potential manager with leanings towards the fhilth, of course. I don't want a sellikman in charge. Players I can thole.
-
I don't need to let it sink in, I do go and watch Rangers now and again. The board were slow to sack Clement so left themselves in an awkward situation given the impending takeover. They then did what they do best - went for the easy / lazy option hoping it would appease the fans (like we're zipped up the back). But again, no matter how bad we are at the moment doesn't excuse Clement and can't be, in retrospect an excuse for keeping him on.
-
I am in agreement regarding Rice. Never good enough. I was talking to one of the other lot who said to me that our youth set up was poor, and I agree. But when I asked him what superstars they had produced he could name none. Scotland just does not produce players like it did in the past. In countries where they can play their way out of poverty football is still producing, but here even the poorest kids have mobiles and xboxes.
-
I'm sure Mo Johnston and Neil McCann did OK for us.
-
As I said. I don't want a manager/coach/whatever with if you do, then hell mend you.
-
Raskin....wee mention for Rice, thought he had a decent match.
-
Very true( unfortunately)
-
Clement was never going to be there next season but the appointments of BF & co was a knee-jerk reaction which hasn’t shown any improvement. We’re now in negative goal difference GD since BF & co took over….let that sink in
-
To be fair, you're probably right. The QP game has perhaps coloured my view, together with the Celtic and Fenerbahce results. However the home losing streak is extremely bad.
-
Raskin all the way Ino future club captain
